Chapter 5: THE CURSED WHEELS

"Where is Naruto?" Gaara asked Sakura in his usual emotionless voice. The sand shield he always wears over his skin was cracked around his cheek. It looked like he fought a formidable opponent on his way to the leaf village.

"He and Lady Tsunade is fighting the monster, but without his nine tails, they won't last long... Everyone died in that blast. I tried... I... I used everything I had, and yet... Sarada and everyone... Oh, God." Sakura broke down in tears. She gave her all and reacted in time, but she failed. Her best wasn't enough to protect her people.

She used his summoning Jutsu and summoned Lady Katsuya, but the intensity of the blast was too strong. And as all loyal summon duty, Lady Katsuya burned her life force to protect Sakura and Tsunade. However, she died in the process, along with everyone.

"Who are these people? They annihilated the Land of Lightning and the Land of Water overnight three days ago..." Gaara explained that he received news from Mizukage before his death.

From there, he learned about the enemy's next target and came to the Hidden Leaf village along with Tsuchikage to defeat the enemies before they could destroy any more lives. However, they were ambushed on the road by some unexplainable mutilated monsters. And Tsuchikage remained behind to delay them.

[Boooom!!!] Another explosion occurred. The entire village shooked from the shock. Sparks of blue explosions and red lightning were all over the sky. The shockwaves were so strong that craters began to form on land.

"Naruto!!! The chakra crystal!!!" Sakura opened her kunai bag, "Oh, no!" Inside her bag was nothing but glittering blue dust.

"The chakra cannon!" inquired Gaara. His eyes widened. He thought that if the enemy was that strong, then they must hurry and use the cannon. But since the chakra crystal was broken, how the heck are they going to defeat the enemies?

"No. Sasuke found a forbidden Jutsu while investigating Otsutsuki ruins. It allows one to travel through space and time. The Otsutsuki race came here through that Jutsu, so it's the only way to stop the enemy. Naruto's plan was to go back in time and warn the others... But without the chakra crystal..."

Sakura explained their plan with a grim expression. Tears were dripping from her eyes. She had not only failed to save everyone as one of the Legendary Medical Ninjas but also failed to protect their last flame of hope.

There is no way to activate the Space and Time Jutsu without the chakra crystal because it requires a massive boost of pure chakra to activate and maintain the portal. And without the chakra crystal, it would take at least 50 Jonin Ninjas and 5 days to assimilate that much chakra.

"Where is Sasuke?" Gaara inquired. He knows that an explosion won't be enough to kill someone of Sasuke's caliber.

"He took them to another dimension..." Sakura said while witnessing the battle between Naruto and the enemy with red lightning. She was worried because there was no sign of Lady Tsunade, and she was too weak to sense her chakra from her location.

[Rumble] [Rumble] <Damn you!!!>

<Damn you all!!!>

<I will tear you to pieces>

<Die!!!>

"Monster!!!"

Gaara's team came running and screaming. Behind them were approximately twenty giant wheels with undead fused to them, rolling toward Gaara and Sakura's location. They were emitting a dark black and purple glow and were cursing nonstop.

Some of the Ninjas were crushed like a watermelon under those demonic wheels. While others scattered and used their Jutsus on them. But nothing worked.

"Sand Tsunami!" Gaara yelled. He has reached the level where he doesn't even need to weave the hand signs.

[Wooosh] A massive tidal wave of sand and dirt emerged from the ground and rushed toward those monster wheels, surrounding them within mere seconds. It's a Jutsu, nearly impossible to avoid.

"Giant Sand Burial!" He slammed his palms on the sandy ground.

The Giant Sand Burial is a sand Jutsu unique to Gaara. It's used as a follow-up to the Sand Tsunami and works by Gaara slamming his hands onto the sand after using the tsunami and sending his chakra rushing through it as massive shockwaves, which crush any enemies he has caught to death.

The sand swallowed all those monster wheels. Gaara grabbed his chest, "Hufff!!! It's over..." He said while huffing in exhaustion.

"Just what kind of monsters are those?!" Sakura wondered. She couldn't believe what she saw before her very eyes. It was very different than Edo Tensei. It was like those monsters crawled out of the underworld to bring calamity over the world.

However, things didn't go as planned. Gaara was already exhausted before he arrived and used his Giant Sand Coffin Jutsu, which takes a huge amount of chakra. On top of that, he used two more high-level Jutsu to crush those monster wheels. And due to the lack of chakra, his Giant Sand Burial Jutsu was incomplete.

<Damn you!!! Bastards!!!>

<Die!!!> <Why don't you die?>

<This pain!!! Arggg!!!>

<I will tear you...> <I will rip you to shreds!!!>

The monster wheels emerged from the sand. Gaara tried to squeeze out his remaining chakra, but it wasn't enough to keep them at bay. His sand armor has also started to crumble.

[Inside the sand coffin]

"Kukukuku!!! To think I will get to see Gaara's Jutsu in real life... This is fun," Evans muttered. His right was glowing with a red hue. And there was a red star within a circle around his iris. His left eye was glowing with a greenish hue, and it looked like a new rinnegan.

"It's my turn..." Evans smiled. He could feel the immense strength flowing through his body. His blood was boiling to fight. And drops of blood were trickling down from the brand on his neck.

...

"Cha!!!" Sakura dashed toward those wheels. She jumped up in the sky and threw a punch with her monstrous strength. However, it didn't even do a tiny amount of damage. She quickly jumped back, "Chee!!! I will somehow hold them off... Go!!! The Jutsu scroll is...."

[Baaam] The Giant Sand Coffin shattered. A giant black sword flew past Sakura's face and struck one of the monster's wheels', shattering it to pieces.
