Wasn’t I a vampire? Why was I an angel right now?

But, there was no explanation for this reality that I could come up with. I was indeed inside an angel body. I had wings, I had a halo, and I had this fella who called me commander with utmost respect.

And not to mention, those memories were so vivid and real that I couldn’t deny it.

I was highly confused.

But whatever.

Angel or vampire, didn’t matter. The fact that I was inside a battlefield made my heart pumping. The chaos, the smoke, the fire, the sense of death lurking around this heavy atmosphere, I yearned for it a lot.

As Lucas Aergon von Dracula, I always wanted to kill things to drink their blood.

And as Lucien the Cherubim, I also wanted to slice things up with my swords. So in the end, it all came down to violence and blood shreds that I wanted the most.

And besides, this armor and sword I had, they were extremely cool!

Thus, I accepted those memories as a part of me and lowered my sword. With that, Raziel’s expression showed a big relief,

“Then, let’s go, commander!” He said. “Our left flank just called for help! There is a giant demonic beast there, we gotta hurry!”

“Okay!” I shouted. “Even though I still haven’t remembered everything yet, I still can fight! Raziel, lead the way!”

Haha!

I couldn’t hide a smirk on my face.

Giant demonic beast? Sounded fun!

And with that, I spread my wings and flew up into the air. We then hurried towards the left side of the battle field.

“Rarrrr!”

“Kuk!”

Swoosh!

I swung my sword, sliced a weird gargoyle looking creature’s body in half. It was called a Terror Ogmoch. Lucky Ogmoch, the blade went right through it without much resistance, so I doubt that it could feel any pain in its last moments.

But I was quite dissatisfied.

“Tsk,” I clicked my tongue. Even though those monsters looked extremely tough and dangerous with all the scary claws and muscles and blazing red eyes, killing them was no harder than squishing a street rat.

“Raziel, why the hell are these creatures so weak?” I complained.

“I believe it’s because you are too strong, commander!” Raziel suddenly praised me. “I was afraid that your combat ability may be affected by the previous injury, but I’m glad that it’s not the case at all!”

“Hmmm… I guess.” I murmured. “But still, I still feel something isn’t right, Raziel.”

“Huh? What is it, commander?”

“Well, you see, on our way here we encountered so many different monsters. But the thing is, those monsters were hella weird! Yes, they were weak, but what the hell were those moves? They were sooo ridiculous and predictable!” I slowly explained.

“Uh? What are you talking about, commander?”

“What? You didn’t notice it?”

So I explained further. “Normally, when you do a sneak attack, you stay silent, right? But those guys made a lot of noises! Who the heck roars so loudly so that we would know where they are? Some even shouted the name of the moves before they unleashed them. And not to mention those who did weird acrobatic moves, served no purpose whatsoever besides revealing their own vulnerable areas!”

“Ahhhhh….” Hearing my explanation, Raziel just scratched his head. “Isn’t it obvious? Maybe those monsters wanted to make themselves seem scary and instill fear in their opponent!”

“Oh!” I gasped. “You are right! But still, it may be effective against some amateurs, but we are well trained warriors, you know?”

“Maybe they lack the intelligence to figure that out?”

“Ah, right!”

That was a nice explanation! I was glad that I shared my thoughts with Raziel. In any battle, the most critical thing was to understand your opponent and make the moves accordingly. So, by knowing the nature of the monsters we were facing, I could feel our chance of victory getting higher.

“So in the end, they just rely on their sheer number, right? Quite troublesome, that’s how the weak fight. But Raziel, stay alert, don’t let your guard down just because our enemies are weak!”

And that was because fighting those enemies suddenly reminded me about humans. In my eyes, they were just weaklings, without any physical or magical superpower to do anything. Yet, there were times when humans banded together and caused us vampires quite a lot of trouble…

“Yes, commander!” Raziel replied.

“Good, now prepare yourself, here it is!”

I looked down. At last, we had arrived at the most heated part of the battle field. I could now see what the giant beast actually looked like.

There was a black, fire-breathing dragon, as tall as a mountain, turning everything in its way to ashes.
