Nightmare Dimmane and Tuktuk became absolutely silent after seeing the final Ethos spit out of the vortex The swirling flames dispersed into the air with a faint burst of smoke. All eyes were locked on Helios’ clenched fists. He opened his fingers to reveal the branded orb resting on his palm.

Ack! A fucking Saint Ethos? Cough. At least, I think that’s what it is. I’ve never even seen one before,” the Luminare strapped to the table choked out. He ignored the pain of the Demonic Larvae burrowing into his flesh to stare in awe.

“Not just any Saint Ethos, that’s a dark Saint. One driven to madness from absolute devotion to a cause. It’s worth ten thousand Beast Ethos, more than all of the others put together. Just what did you do during your Task? This should be impossible…” Dimmane said with a wistful expression. “Give me it.”

“Not so fast, the Saint Ethos already has Helios’ Sigil. Besides, you’ve already received more than your fair share in compensation. The most lavish of Nightmare lounges wouldn’t even cost a single Virgin Ethos. Don’t get too greedy,” Tuktuk admonished.

“How about this, Helios? As Tuktuk said, the Saint Ethos has already been branded by you. I can use it and however many others you want to birth you an exceptional Familia,” Dimmane suggested.

“What’s that catch?” Helios suspiciously asked, subconsciously hiding away the Saith Ethos.

“No catch. This is what I enjoy doing. It would be similar to what I’m doing with this fine offering on the table,” Dimmane suggested, gesturing toward the Demonic Larvae devouring the hapless Luminare. “Of course, my services aren’t free. It would cost you a fair portion of the Ethos your servants collected too. What do you say?”

“Until I have any semblance of strength of my own, I need manpower. A Familia is the best way to achieve that. I have a counteroffer offer for you. The Ethos you collected are all my Mortal followers. I want you to use them, with no exceptions. I will instead be in your debt with myself as the collateral,” Helios resolutely proposed.

“You play a dangerous game, little Helios, I can’t accept those terms. It would put me in direct confrontation with King Beebo, she would crush me as easily as one would an ant. This is what I can do, I’ll hold each of your Ethos I took in trust. If you can trade me one of equal value to replace it, then I’ll rebirth it into your Familia. This is the best I can do. For the others, I’ll take a promise. Restore Tuktuk’s reputation, allow him to hold his head up proudly once more,” Dimmane said, a strangely sentimental expression on her beautiful demonic face.

Ptui! None of that nonsense, Dimmane. Tuktuk doesn’t need a woman holding his hand. He can do it on his own,” Tuktuk scorned, aggressively spitting onto the floor.

Dimmane suddenly spun and easily pinned the large Krutak to the ground. She lowered her face in front of Tuktuk’s as he pried himself free from under him.

“Listen here, stubborn man. Your pride has cost me dearly. I need your name restored so that I no longer need to hide in the shadows like a lowly Imp. It was you that broke your Oath. My sentiments come from personal investment. If for me to see a return for my suffering and to make it all worth it means that I must help you succeed, then succeed you will. Do you understand me, master Nightmare?” Dimmane venomously asked.

“Aye, Tuktuk understands,” Tuktuk replied with a heavy sigh.

“Good.”

Dimmane released the immobile Krutak and raised back to her full height, flicking back her hair as if nothing had happened. Krutak hesitantly climbed to his feet and hunkered into a submissive posture. He very clearly understood the strength difference between them both after experiencing it first hand.

“Scverm, come here!” Dimmane shouted.

The doorman from outside came rushing in. He glanced around the room on high alert but relaxed after seeing nothing out of the ordinary. His eyes lingered hungrily on the Luminare restrained on the table, his attention didn’t go unnoticed.

“What is it, mistress?” Scverm asked with an ugly raspy voice.

“Did all the Imps from earlier leave the vicinity? I need all of them who saw our guests culled,

“It will be done, mistress,” Scverm answered, bowing in acquiescence. He was interrupted from leaving the room by the silhouette of an Imp in the doorway. He froze as he considered the best action to take.

“Imps, da wuns who forgot der names. Nobody remembers. Nobody has seen da things I have. The Destroyer in a room with Nobody. A great joke, Ha!” the Imp said in riddles.

Scverm took a step aggressively toward the Imp. The obscured figure adjusted slightly, briefly becoming illuminated in the lamp light. It was shaped like an Imp but one made of countless strands woven together in neat lines, forming the skin and a shock of them as the hair. The strands detached and split apart with every movement to reform into the silhouette of an Imp.

“Wait, don’t get close to him!” Tuktuk exclaimed, reaching his hands out toward the doorman. The outburst caused him to pause and glimpse over his shoulder at his mistress. She nodded her head in confirmation, equally confused.

“Nobody knows who you are Tuktuk. Hahaha!” the Imp exclaimed with hysterical laughter.

Its body suddenly unravelled and streamed out from the building to disappear into the heights of the city. Tuktuk stared after its departure with a troubled expression.

“Who was that?” Tsiyaha curiously asked.

“Nobody,” Tuktuk simply replied.

“If you don’t want to tell me his name, then don’t. But you need to at least tell us how an Imp could do that,” Tsiyaha tersely snapped.

“That wasn’t an Imp. It’s something far more sinister and deadly, even Beebo would have to tread carefully around it outside the protection of Fastidium’s walls. Nobody shouldn’t be here,” Tuktuk grumbled under his breath.
