The next day I was in the school library reading through various books, mainly history and geography of this world and some spell related books.

 

This was the second part of my plan. David didn’t care much about the history or geography of this word except for the Ackerman Dukedom, so most of the knowledge I have of this world is from my previous life.

 

He could also master magic easily and hence he didn’t read much books about magic and instead only studied that which was required in the academy.

 

So, before I did anything, I needed to familiarize myself with this world.

 

Hence, I was in the library early in the morning. I wearing the school uniform since this was still the school building even if we didn’t have any classes.

 

I was actually a little relieved today morning as last night before going to bed, I got news from my father that my engagement has been successfully annulled.

I have been in the library for close to 4 hours. I only studied the parts of the books I needed. I don’t need full knowledge but selective knowledge, that way I can save time.

At first people were curious and tried to enter them but they ended up being killed by the monsters inside.

 

This caused people to fear and they stopped trying to go in. But the dungeons wouldn’t leave them behind.

 

Due to being not explored [Dungeon Break] occurred. [Dungeon Break] is a phenomenon where the monsters in the dungeon increased in number and broke out of the dungeons.

 

These [Dungeon Breaks] killed lots of people. After that to save themselves, people took up arms and began to challenge the dungeons.

 

They also found that certain monsters generate at certain parts of the dungeons. And they found that if they could clear them, then the [Dungeon Breaks] won’t occur.

 

Also, after dungeons appeared in the world mana started to leak out of the [Dungeon Gates] .i.e. the portals that serve as entrances to the dungeons.

 

It gave rise to the first mages in the world and their children were born with magical powers of their own.

 

In a short time, magic became essential to everyone’s life.

 

Also, dungeons could help make people stronger. After a monster is defeated, it turns into a white mist and goes inside all the surrounding people, adding to their mana, making them stronger. However, there is no levelling system.

But the amount of mana a person can absorb is finite. After sometime a person who has absorbed enough mana that his mana reserves are full, will not absorb mana any further. Hence, they wouldn’t be able to get any stronger.

 

The limit is different for different people. Hence there are people with different strengths in a part of people who explore dungeons.

 

There is only one person in the world who doesn’t go by this standard. The protagonist Aaron will have a [Limit Break] moment in the future, while exploring a dungeon boss. That will increase the mana limit of his body but it will only happen once but that’s enough to make him much stronger that he initially should be.

 

[Limit Break] is an ability like [chant less magic]. But it’ an ability no one has had before. An ability cannot be taught, so how the protagonist gained the [chant less magic] ability from the other user of it, other than me is a mystery.

 

But, there is no use thinking about it, nor do I care.

 

Anyway, these people who explored dungeons were called adventurers. With time, they became stronger than other people. And as they grew stronger, they wanted to rule over other people due to greed.

 

So, for the first wars broke out throughout the continent. After hundreds of years of wars, several small countries were formed. They had peace agreements with each as they didn’t want any more conflicts.

 

The finally one country decided to conquer them all.

 

Hence it started war all over again, conquering neighboring countries. The neighboring countries, put up a good resistance. Hence there was carnage. But still the country now known as the Delta Empire, never stopped it’s conquests.

 

After conquering a large part of the continent an Emperor of the empire named Henry XII, having witnessed the carnage his forefathers have caused, decided to stop the conquest and have a peace treaty with the neighboring countries.

 

At first, they didn’t trust him but overtime trust developed. Henry XII also established the Royal Magic Academy, where children of nobility could study.

 

The academy is built around a dungeon. It’s only 20 floors long though. The average dungeon is 50 floors long in comparison.

 

Also, the dungeon in the academy is properly maintained so that it safe for the students.

 

Children of nobility could get used to the dungeons in a much safer environment a result. Otherwise, commoner children, when they reach 15 years of age, have to go to regular dungeons, hence, they can lose their lives there.

 

Additionally, noble children also receive extensive training in the academy. So, once they leave the academy, they become capable than ordinary adventurers.

 

Also, they can access outside dungeons while in the academy, as long as they can clear the academy’s dungeon once. Hence, all in all, the academy is a big advantage for noble children.

 

And not just the country, nobility from surrounding countries also come to study at the academy, it’s that famous.

 

Commoners can enroll as well but they must satisfy two conditions, one, they have to have a decent amount of magic and skills; two, they must have the backing of a noble.

 

Like the protagonist but there are very few of these students, as it’s not easy to get a noble’s backing. The protagonist is the only commoner in our year.

 

Anyway, enough thinking. I got up and put the book back to the shelves. Confirmed with the librarian and the left.
