As I exited the library door, I saw two people passing by. They were two of the people I didn’t want to meet.
And to think I met them so soon, is my luck really that bad?
One was a blond-haired girl with blue eyes and the other was a green haired girl with golden eyes. Both of them were very beautiful and had shapely bodies and ample bosoms.
They were wearing the female uniforms, which consisted of a white shirt with navy blue skirt and navy blue with white border blazer, they had a black ribbon instead of the tie for males.
Both males and females wore black shoes, with females having high heels.
The blond was my ex-fiancé Sera Rockwell and the green haired girl was the main heroine and the protagonist Aaron’s childhood friend Emily Green.
I gulped, but then calmed myself. I didn’t have to greet and interact him, did I? I don’t really need to speak to them unless it is an official gathering, on which I am obligated to interact with them due to my duty as a noble.
They are trouble waiting to happen, especially with what transpired between us recently.
So, I decided to ignore them and make my exit quietly. However…
“David Ackerman stop!”, I heard a voice behind me, telling me to stop. The voice was sharp, with a hint of anger.
I turned to see Emily glaring at me with her arms crossed. Sera stood beside her, looking away, averting my eyes.
Ugh, I couldn’t get away. Anyway, it doesn’t matter, there’s nothing they can do to me anyway.
So, I crossed my arms and spoke with a cold tone, “What do you want?”.
Emily shouted, “Aaron has been called back home by father, he had to leave today morning, he won’t be able to continues his studies at the Academy.”.
“And?”, I asked. So, what? What has that got to do with me? But to think he was made to quit even though he was a much lower ranked person as such he wouldn’t be affected much from the defeat.
But then again Duke Green did sponsor him, so his defeat means, tarnishing the Duke’s honor. So, of course he would be recalled, that makes sense.
Emily got even angrier and said, “This all happened because of you. Don’t you at least feel sorry for what you did?”.
“No, I didn’t anything wrong. Why should I feel sorry? That was a fair match. I won fair and square, if I had lost I would have lost my rights as an heir. So, this is only fair. Besides I didn’t tell him to withdraw from the academy. If you any problem regarding that, tell your father.”, I said.
“Ack.”, said Emily, clearly unable to refute my logic.
But then she shouted again, “You almost killed Aaron.”.
What? Is this girl for real?
“Ha? That was a duel, both parties involved knew the risks. Things like that happen and people also get killed by accident. If I really wanted to kill him, I would have ordered his execution after I won the duel.”, I replied.
“Ugh”, said Emily tongue tied even again.

“But but this all happened because you caused the duel to happen. It’s definitely your fault.”, said Emily.
Man, this girl can’t just let it go can she? She is trying to find excuses for blaming me.
“What are you talking about? Aaron was the one who proposed the duel, I merely accepted. In the first place, it’s his fault for interfering into other people’s business”, I said.
“Aaron can’t stand injustice; he always rushes to help people in need. I-I think that’s an admirable quality”, said Emily.
So, now she is making excuses to defend him. This girl really is a pain in the ass.
“Then he must be ready to face the consequences of his actions.”, I said.
That quieted down Emily.
I said, “If you have nothing more to say, then I will be taking my leave.” And turned around and quickly left the place.
Man, that was close. It was a really unpleasant experience.
Third POV:
As David left Emily clutched her fists tightly in anger. She said, “Damn that bastard. He refuted everything I said. Even though he is the one to blame I couldn’t say anything to him. He is so arrogant, so heartless. HE didn’t feel in the slightest remorse for what he did. As expected, he is truly evil.”.
Sera tugged Emily’s sleeve and said, “Emily, I am really sorry. It’s my fault, I dragged you guys in my problems.”.
Emily smiled and said, “You don’t need to be sorry. You heard what Aaron said right? It’s no your fault, it was his decisions. If anything, the only one who is at fault is that bastard David.”.
Sera has apologized profusely to both Aaron and Emily after the match as well as thanked them for standing up for her.
The latter have told her not to worry about it.
“Still..”, said Sera with a sad look on her face.
Emily just smiled and said, “As I said, don’t worry about it. Instead you should be happy that your engagement with that bastard was cancelled.”.
Sera smiled weakly and said, “Yes, you are right and thank you again for everything, give my thanks to Aaron as well”.
“Sure, I will and as I said, Aaron did it out of his own will, so thank you isn’t necessary.”, said Emily with a smile.
At this Sera finally smiled brightly.
Emily thought to herself, ‘This engagement cancellation might just be one of that bastard’s plans. Don’t worry Sera, I will protect you if he ever tries to harm you gain. And I will never forgive that bastard for what he did, never.”.
