He placed both the boxes in front of me in the counter. One box had armour and some accessories and the other one had various weapons.

 

Now, I came here for two specific stuffs, however I cannot act suspiciously here. I need to buy some extra stuff other than what I came here for as cover.

 

But it’s ok though, as the stuff here are all high quality and I would need some other stuff for my dungeon exploration.

 

Moreover, the shopkeepers in this shop and the other one are honest people who don’t cheat their customers and will never overcharge as well. They are the protagonist’s suppliers after all.

 

How can the protagonist be allowed to be cheated?

 

Anyway, I decided to buy some under armour and two small daggers and a short sword. I bought small daggers and a short sword because there are some places in the dungeon where you cannot use your sword as there is no space.

Well, it seems he is happy that his stuff is being sold.

Then I checked the armours and selected a good and sturdy chainmail.

 

“Is that all?”, the boy asked. “Hmm, this is all I like from all these. Do you not have anything else?”, I asked.

 

The boy put this head down and said, “This is all my father had made.”.

 

“Hmm. Have you not tried making anything yourself?”, I asked.

 

The boy looked up and said, “I have, but they are not good.”. I said, “Well, I can judge that for myself. Why don’t you show them to me? It’s a shopkeeper duty to show all his wares to his customer and let them.”.

 

Hearing me the boy perked up and said happily, “Okay, I’ll be right back.” And went inside happily.

 

Good thing, this boy is naïve. I could trick him into showing his craftsmanship. This naivety could cause him to be cheated by customers.

 

While I do feel bad for tricking him, it’s not like I cheating him out of money, I’ll pay the necessary compensation. So, I have mixed feelings about this.

 

After a short while he came back with another box. Seeing it’s contents made my eyes shine but I kept my cool and my face expressionless.

 

“These are everything I have tried to make. Some of them aren’t completed yet.”, said the boy excitedly.

 

I skimmed through the box contents and then made it look like I chose the two things I wanted after careful consider.

 

They were a ring and a sword. The sword didn’t have a handle and wasn’t polished yet and the ring was a gold-colored ring with a green colored gem in the middle.

 

Seeing them the boy looked surprised and said, “These two They aren’t completed yet.”.

 

Hearing that I said, “These are the ones I want. Can’t you complete them?”.

 

He hesitated and said, “I can but I am not sure if it will work. Please choose something else.”.

 

“No, I choose these. You can do it, I believe in you.”, I said looking at him with determination.

The boy gulped and then his looked turned serious and he said, “I’ll do my best.”, and clenched his fists.

 

I smiled and said, “That’s the spirit, how much time will it take?”.

 

The boy thought and said, “About 3 hours. Umm can I request something?”. 3 hours should be doable, I need them before I head back home.

 

“Yes 3 hours should be ok. And yes, what do you want?”, I said.

 

“Well, you see I wanted to try something with this sword. Originally, I made this sword in anticipation that I would be able to try doing it but I didn’t get any customers. You see I need a customer to do it.”, said the boy.

 

“Do what?”, I asked. “Well, you see, I have this book I inherited from my mother, in it there is a trick to personalize weapon that makes it more potent. It will also work with the ring. So, I was asking if you would be willing to do it?”, said the boy.

 

How naïve is this kid? He is telling me that he has a special book with his trade secret, if I were a bad guy,  could the book forcefully.

 

Personalize, huh? Well the sword I chose was a adamantite sword sword, but it was no ordinary adamantite sword. Adamantite is an alloy of mithril and they are incredibly strong.

 

The best adamantite swords are almost unbreakable, this sword was of that quality.

 

However, that was not the reason I wanted this sword. After all I could find one of same quality in other shops.

 

No, the reason I wanted this sword was because of it’s ability to flawlessly conduct magic, so you can use magic with the sword easily.

 

There were swords with flawless magic conductivity but they were always made with easily breakable materials as it was almost impossible to make magic conducting swords with stronger materials.

 

Yet this sword could do it. As expected of the protagonist and his cheat items.

 

As for the ring, it was storage ring, it stores in a pocket dimension. The stuff stored in there won’t get bad as time doesn’t flow there, hence you can store food there as ell along with weapons.

 

It’s a convenient tool which helps to reduce the luggage you carry. Now there are storage rings out there but they don’t have much capacity.

 

This storage ring however has a capacity 10 times larger than the other storage rings, hence it’s very convenient.

 

About the personalization stuff. The protagonist never had his stuff personalized. When he visited, all the stuff was completed as the boy had a lot of time in his hands and was bored due to lack of customers.

 

Though, he did tell the protagonist that, it’s a shame that he couldn’t personalize his stuff and that if only he came earlier. He could have his stuff personalize.

 

In other words, me coming earlier wasn’t a waste after all, in fact it was productive even if my fears of someone taking the stuff turns out to be false.

 

I don’t know how my stuff will change after personalization though, but I am excited with the prospective improvement if any.

 

I said, “No problem, so what do I have to do?”. The boy got excited and said, “Great, then put your hand here.”, and brought out a glass orb.

 

I touched it and it’s inside was fully covered with a pink mist. “That’s done, now please wait. I promise I will do my best so as to not disappoint you for having trust in me.”.

 

I smiled and said, “I look forward to me. Now, can you tell me your name?”. His name wasn’t mentioned in the original novel, he was only referred to as ‘boy’.

 

“It’s Nick.”, said the boy. I smiled and said, “Nick, my name is David, let’s get along. I’ll be visiting later for repair and buy stuff”.

 

Nick was very surprised and said, “You, will?”. “Of course.”, I said. Well, of course I will, I cannot rely on others for maintenance of my sword and the stuff here is cheap and high quality.

 

It’s a win-win situation for me, why the hell would I go to any other shop?

 

Hearing me he was overjoyed and said, “Okay then, I will work extra hard.”, and went inside to do the work.

 

There was a small wooden bench for customers to wait so I sat on there and waited.
