Chapter 4: 4

Kano noticed two things when she fell. The tracks were getting closer and closer to the abyss that loomed below. It was then she realized that she was becoming more and more like her former self. The person she hated the most.

Shin'u picked up his erhu. The sound box bore a tear. He had dropped it in order to grab her hand. Kano was quick to apologize. She bowed forty-five degrees.

"I'm terribly sorry."

The man Kano had just pulled from the other train stood at the very corner. She attempted to walk towards him.

"Don't come near me!" He yelled, keeping his back parallel to the wall. "You only only saved me so you can collect my debt, huh?"

"Debt?"

He waved his pointer finger at them, "Yes, you two are coming to collect my debt! So stay away from me! I don't have the money... I don't have the money..."
