The dim light of Nanaumi Kano's phone lit her room. The blue curtains were closed, and she covered herself in the bed's blanket. Her school uniform gathered dust hanging on the closet, in alignment with the old calendar from last month. The sun set in the west as she scrolled through her notifications, she couldn't help but reread the old messages she sent to her friends.

Everytime Kano thought about them, the more she sank her head into the pillow. A knock came on the door as usual.

"Kano, is everything alright?" Her mother called from the other side. "You haven't gone to school for a week... Did something happen at school?"

"..."

She pretended not to hear anything, only to listen to her mother's soft voice. Kano couldn't help but apologize over and over in her head. She looked at the last RAIN texts from her friends. The silhouette of mother was still there.

"Please tell me. A while back you were so enthusiastic, you always told me how things were going great over there. If you're struggling, you can tell mama..."

Kano clenched her eyes and teeth. She didn't want to burden her. When time passed, her mother left her alone. Kano couldn't go back to school. After all, everyone at school; the boys and the girls, called her a narcissist. She wondered if her helping people was the definition of it. She was tired of the gossip about her. She was tired of her friends leaving her on read.

"Is being nice... Narcissism?"

Wiping her tears, Kano turned on her phone and typed in a googol search page. She pounded in 'How to get rid of narcissism'. Then the results rolled in, much like a poison injecting into her brain.

'Stay away as much as possible from narcissists.'

'The way they treat people, is how the disorder manifests. Nothing can change narcissists, the disorder is incurable and they will forever remain that way.'

'Narcissists will betray everyone, in the worst of ways. And hurt people like no other. Their treachery has no end.'

She couldn't take her eyes off the article. Kano was a narcissist. And in order to help the people around her, she needed to stay away from everyone. Kano couldn't go back to school, nor society, nor her parents. In order to save others from herself, she thought of leaving this world. Kano cried.

It was night. Kano decided to put on her sailor-fuku, and wore her skirt. She patted the family dog from the doorway and shut down her phone. Quietly she pushed the curtains aside and opened her bedroom window. Maybe if Kano cut the strings to every single relationship, she would be set free. She thought she deserved every single consequence. Under the house's eaves a family of crows were nesting. The moon had encapsulated her emotions.

With one step Kano leapt out the window. She fell down onto a metal floor. Itching her aches, she could hear the sound of a railroad. Kano was on a train, in the vast blue void.
