Without the pressure of being popular, my school days improved greatly.
I also met a friend. Her name was Elora.
Elora was my childhood friend, she was shorter than most girls her age, had short brown hair, and wore glasses. Unlike many girls, she didn't complain much about having to wear them.
She was very kind to everyone she met.
“Why don't you come over to my place for lunch today?” Elora suggested.
“Okay,” I agreed.
“My parents are traveling so I'll stay home by myself. It would be nice if someone else were here.”
“Sure, I'd love to. Thanks, Elora.”
“No problem. I hope you'll enjoy my cooking. I've made lasagna.”
“Sounds great. See you later.”
“See you later, then.”
When I got there, Elora's house was filled with books. There were piles everywhere. I wondered how Elora was able to find anything.
“Hi, Elora,” I said as I entered her house.
“Oh, hi, Adriel. You're late. I made some tea; do you want some?”
“Thanks, that sounds good. I'll take two cups.”
Elora's parents owned a bookshop, so it wasn't surprising to see all those books.
I took a seat on one of the chairs.
“So, what did you think of my lasagna?” Elora asked.
“It tasted great, thanks.”
Elora smiled happily.
“I'm glad you liked it.”
We sat together for a long time and talked about everything. I felt comfortable around her.
Ding Dong.
The bell rang.
"I'm glad I made it in time," Elizabeth opened the door and stepped inside, "I brought something for the both of us."
"Thank you, Liz," said Elora.
Elizabeth handed us each a plate.
Elizabeth sat next to me.
"So, what did you think of the lasagna?" asked Elora.
“It was delicious! Thank you very much,” Elizabeth answered.
We talked for a long time after that.
"Sorry, I have to go now," I said.
"Yeah. Bye," both waved goodbye.
I headed back home, still enjoying the taste of lasagna.
That day I fell in love with lasagna.

"What took you so long, brother?" my sister asked.
Emma was her name.
Emma is my adopted sister.
She and I weren't related by blood, but we always considered ourselves family.
Emma has curly red hair and green eyes. She is of average height with fair skin and freckles.
She's always complaining about being tall and skinny.

“I ran into an old classmate, Elora. We were catching up,” I explained.
“But you were supposed to be home hours ago,” she added.
“Yes. She invited me for lunch.”
“Well, you should be more careful. Don't get distracted by other people when you have important things to do.”
“Don't worry."
“You worried me a lot, next time send a message."
“You're right. Sorry."
“Come on, let's eat. I cooked roast beef and potatoes.”
“Yum. You make the best food. I'm starving. Let's dig in.”
“Great idea. I'll start the meal.”
After Adriel left, Elizabeth and Elora started to stare at each other.
"What the hell are you doing?" Elora asked.
"I ask, you broke our agreement," replied Elizabeth.
"Why should I care about your agreement? What can you do to me?"
"I can kill you," replied Elizabeth.
"Kill... Me?"
"Yes. I am not afraid to do whatever I need to protect myself."
"We have a deal, we all agree," shouted Elizabeth.
"A deal that can be broken easily," answered Elora.
"I never thought there was any reason to keep that agreement," added Elora.
They stayed like that for an hour.
Finally, Elora broke the silence.
"Don't worry, Elizabeth," Elora offered a sad smile, "You will disappear soon."
Elora's clothes turned to ribbons, then attacked Elizabeth.
Elizabeth returned the attack by cutting the straps.
The two of them started to fight.
"Stop this!" a yell comes from the doorway.
Both stopped their attacks.
"What the hell are you doing? What if Adriel came back and saw this?" Seda assured.
"Shut up, Seda. This is none of your business," said Elora.
"It's true, but if Adriel comes and sees you like this. He'd leave us."
"He won't," Elora declared.
"Well, he might," said Seda.
Seda managed to convince both to stop the fight.
All of them began tidying up the house to make it look like nothing happened.
