I finally got discharged from the hospital and went home to see if I could take something with me. Unfortunately what I found wasn't a very nice sight. Nya told me that our house has been trash by the Equalists but I wasn't expecting it to be so bad. Most of the place has been burned down, nothing was left standing, apparently the next night after the raid on the Sato mansion they came looking for vengeance. By the time the police and the firefighter came to the scene, the fire had already destroyed most of the house and the shop.

The only thing spared by the flames was the portrait of Noami I hanged right above the stairs and my notebooks that I hid under the floor in a non-flammable case. It was more than enough in my opinion since I could buy new stuff anytime I wanted, money wasn't a problem. The only things that remained standing were the ones that had emotional value attached to them.

Another bad thing that happened to me in the two days that I was comatose was that the damn prick I used to work with torched my bike as well. It pained me to see such a work of art half burned. The good thing was that I could still repair if I put in enough effort, but it would take a long time and I needed the parts, and since Nya didn't work for Future Industries anymore, for the time being at least, I couldn't get my hands on them.

I clench my hand on the winged medallion that granny got for my birthday. While I could easily repair the shop and the house it still pained me to see them like this.

I then headed to the deposit where I kept my stuff. But before that, I needed to shake off the squad of policemen with me. As the last act as acting chief of police, Lin gave me a guard detail, for at least a few days, till things calmed down.

Now you might be asking in what universe would Lin step down from being chief of police, well it wasn't that she wanted, she needed to, in the previous battle she got quite injured, and even though the water benders healed her, they said that she must take a leave of absence for at least a few days to recuperate properly.

I managed to shake the officers quite easily and I went to my warehouse. I took from there with me the new and improved suit, the one that couldn't make me burst into flames, and a few guns with extra ammo, a lot of explosives, some flashbangs, and smoke bombs, and an extra power source, in case the one that I had died on me.

They were quite heavy so I thought it was best to meet up with officers so I can get them to help me with the luggage. It took only a few minutes for me to find an officer and for him to call the squad that should have had their eyes on me.

"Where have you been sir! We can't protect you if you keep running from us."

"I went for a stroll and found some useful stuff on the way back. Wait why are you addressing me as sir? I'm young enough to be your son shouldn't it be the other way around."

"How could we not show respect to the chief!? Even if it's an honorary title it has great importance to us! Let us help you with the cases!"

They tried to take the cases from my hands and of course, I let them since this was the reason I got them here in the first place. The moment they put their hands on them they almost fell to the ground because of how heavy they were, it took all of their strength to keep the case from falling. This prompted them to look at me. They looked at me like I was some sort of monster in human skin, to be able to carry all of them and to not seem even bothered, this shook them greatly.

"As expected of the chief, even if he is still recovering his strength is on another level from normal people!"

"May I ask what's in the boxes?"

"Oh, some stuff to help me protect myself. I'm still human and I have limitations, as humans, we are quite weak so, those of us that don't have bending need external help to become strong, inside the cases are my answer to human limitation."

They all felt their legs give in, I was already a monster if the stuff inside was able to make me overcome my limits then they could only imagine the terror I would bring if I used whatever was inside.

We slowly made our way to the port and they got me on a boat to Air Temple Island. There I meet with the gang except for Lin since she was at home still recovering and Tenzin and Korra because they were practicing air bending.

"Welcome! It's been so long since we had you here! It's a pity that it's under such dire circumstances..."

"Thank you, aunty Pema! It's always a pleasure to come here, no matter what!"

"Ethan, always so polite! I can see what Nya sees in you, hahaha! Let your friends help you with the luggage and come with me to show you where you'll be staying."

With great difficulty, they managed to get all my stuff to my room. It was right next to Makos. Mako is still weird about all the stuff that happened and I gave him space to think about it so the fact that we were so close to each other kind of ruins the whole thing.
