“Huh? For what?” The woman asked.

“He likes eating them. He prefers young kids’ hearts but since there is a shortage of healthy people in the country he is ready for anything.” He answered.

I need this list.

“Hey… Can I ask you something?” I asked.

“What?” The woman replied.

“Do you guys feel pain?” I asked before discharging electricity from my body. The magic had given me a sort of this storage system where I could store my elementals without it actually hurting me. I electrocuted them and jumped off the table and took the knife out and healed myself. I snatched the list from him and went through it. There were names and alongside what organ they want and what they want to do with them.

The guy grabbed a sword and charged towards me before being electrocuted again.

“I’m not as weak as people make me out to be.” I smirked and decided to get more information out of him.

“YOU!” The woman charged at me this time and I flicked her off using wind magic. I saw Shiroyu use it a couple times so I learned it through that.

“You know I’d prefer us to be friends.” I smiled and sat next to the guy who was still in shock.

“So how many have you killed so far?” I asked and he looked at me in horror.

“I-... I-... killed… only 5 people.” He replied. I got up and looked around the place and found a few skulls in a box. I took them out and counted them. 11.

“Maybe I made a mistake but these are 11 skulls.” I smiled and created a tablet of cyanide. I walked over to him and frowned. “I don’t like to be friends with liars.” I shoved the tablet into his mouth.

I turned my attention to the woman now.

“So… Now, tell me who is your leader if you don’t want the same fate as him.” I was much more serious now.

“Grisha .” She replied rather instantly.

“I see. So, how much hand do you have in this?”

“I just do whatever I’m told. I’m just trying to make ends meet.” She started crying halfway through. “I couldn’t do anything against the increasing prices and lack of employment because of demon occupation. I just wanted to survive.”

“You don’t have to try to survive anymore.” I smiled and stabbed her right through her temporal region of her skull, killing her instantly.

Killing children for consumption simply because they can…? Just how ruthless can these people be or are the higher ups manipulating them.

Grisha. I need to meet up with him.

I picked up my groceries and ran back home. I walked in to see Alice and Sasaki chilling on the couch. Sasaki was teaching her about economics.

“Where are the two women?” I asked and Sasaki looked at me with a disgusted look.

“In the room. After spending some alone time with Leanna, she looked much better.”

“I’m glad you two are at least able to bounce back from the traumatic event.” I was honestly happy for them. On my way back home, I came up with an idea for a lithium battery.

I created a prototype to use it with a refrigerator. I turned the refrigerator on and placed the food in. For now it seems it’s working just fine. I can’t freeze things in it but it’s cold enough to preserve food for at least a week.

I’ll be starting a proper school from tomorrow.

I’m nervous because I was homeschooled till now. I wonder what kinds of people I’d meet there and what kinds of people I’d become friends with. I need to come up with a plan to kill this supposed demon lord and go back too but I’m too weak to do much.

The next day, I got ready for school. The uniform was a crimson red coat, white shirt and crimson red pants. I also had to wear a black tie which was too tight for me. I’m not used to wearing ties.

Historia helped me with my hair and it looked good. Apparently, I will get everything at the school and I just need to bring an empty bag with me.

I walked downstairs and saw all Alice, Leanna and Sasaki rush up to me. They seemed excited.

“You will be attending The Deem Private Institute. Don’t ruin the reputation of Scofinia, okay?” Leanna pleaded.

“Please don’t mess up without us and don’t get into fights.” Historia acted much like an older sister I guess.

“Yes yes. We don’t want news of you becoming a criminal.” Sasaki added in.

Why am I getting verbally abused right now?

“Whatever. I’ll do just fine and Leanna, I want you to keep the insides of this house a secret. Do not let anyone in. In case someone shows up, do not let them wander around. I don’t want anyone finding out I’m from a different world. Only The Grand Order knows that. So be careful because this technology is far too great.” I warned and she just nodded.

All four gave me a hug before bidding me a farewell.

I have to live in dorms there but apparently, I will be allowed to visit them twice a year, during summer breaks and winter breaks.

After about an hour of walking, I reached the school.

I can’t describe how massive the school’s main building was. The entrance was made of golden gates and then there was a path leading to the main building. On either side of the pathway were trees. Their leaves were golden in color. There were also lamp posts which seemed to use fire magic to light up.

At the entrance to the building, on the noticeboard, to the left, was a map of the school. So, the school had a gym, swimming pool, gardens, colosseum, archery range, shooting range, flying range, library and different department buildings related to different elementals, light and dark magic.

The school’s main building made up only about a tiny percentage of the total area of the school.

I was genuinely impressed so far. I walked into the building and went over to the reception as Shiroyu had told me earlier.

“I would like to get my stuff. I’m Kara Kiryu.”

Since I was ‘married’ to Historia so I decided to just use her last name plus Kara Kiryu sounds nice too.

“Yes, please go to the Student’s Service Room. There you will get all your stuff.” She replied and showed me the location of it on a map of the school building.

“Thank you.” I started walking to the place which was about a couple minutes walk away.

I was looking around to take in all the architecture of the school’s building. There seemed to be a lot of emphasis on gold and battlefield related art. There were many depictions of battlefields on the window panes and walls with gold used as a border for everything. My interpretation was that they wanted to show off wealth using this school but also are proud of the history of this nation. But battlefields make it a bit weird. Maybe it’s just what they find attractive.

The students were wearing the same outfits but most had white ties instead of black. Now don’t tell me it's a way to tell between a magic student and a magicless student. Ah, yes, segregation. If I remember correctly, such a thing happened in my homeland too. I wonder just how extreme these students would get.

I bumped into a guy by mistake when I was looking around. It was my fault.

“I’m sorry. I wasn’t being careful.” As arrogant as I might sound, I apologize easily when I’m in the wrong because my pride is real and strong and being in the wrong doesn’t affect me.

“Huh? A magicless…? You can’t use magic but you can’t use your eyes either. What a useless bastard.” He was just being rude.

Ouch.

That was totally uncalled for. I’m told not to cause a scene so I’ll do just that. I decided to keep walking but the guy from before grabbed my shoulder.

“You have to beg for my mercy before I kill your sorry magicless ass.”

Huh? Beg for mercy? I just laughed it off and continued walking.

“Fireball.” The guy shot a fireball at me and I ducked. I can’t use magic here.

“A coward!” He shouted at me.

Who are you calling a coward?

I don’t have time for this. I need to get my stuff and attend classes. I started running as fast as I could, leaving him behind.

I entered the service room and got all my stuff which were mostly just books since I can’t use magic. Apparently, the magic users get a magic item that lets them perform spells more effectively. According to Shiroyu, I didn’t need the magic item because my magic works on atomic levels. It’s so pure that magic items are useless. It’s like putting your fully charged phone on charge.

I walked out of the room and left the building to the male dorm building.

It was a 5 story building and I think each floor had about 100 rooms which means there were around 500 male students and maybe the same number of female students.

My room number was B-76. It was on the 2nd floor.

I entered the room and it was plain white with just the bare minimum. There was a kitchen which could only fit me. It’s just that small. The bathroom was the same. The living room was the bedroom as well and there was a bookshelf and a table for studying. I think it’s good enough. I placed 19 of the 23 books on the bookshelf and the remaining 4 in my backpack. I needed these for today’s class.

Today’s classes were an introduction to magic, literature, history and uses of magic. Since I was magicless, I couldn’t get any classes which were related to practical and daily uses of magic. It doesn’t matter.

I left the dorm room and saw another guy with a black tie. I don’t know how to talk and approach people so I’ll just go.

The journey to my class was really simple and easy. I sat on one of the seats and read through the index of my book to get an idea of the class.

Soon students started pouring in and the class was filled. About 40 students I guess. Only 3 people had black tie including me. The guy from before and a girl. I don’t think they’re friends either.

I could notice how others were ignoring us three in particular but we were also getting side eyes.

It’s sad but my introverted self is quite happy. Please keep it this way.

The guy from earlier walked in.

“YOU!” He threw a fireball at me. I couldn’t dodge this without magic but someone intercepted it.

“Stop it, Joseph. He is a magicless person.” A girl came forward.
