“Princess?” Juliano called to her.
Milaan took her headphones off and asked, “Is there something you need?”
He shook his head. “I’m going out for a bit. If they look for me, tell them I’m at Damien’s.”
She nodded her head and blew him a kiss.
Juliano smiled as he closed the door, then walked off, but his smile dropped. It’s been a few days since he got back from the trip, which he left before the others. He knew Damien stayed behind to get his money’s worth and there was a girl he wanted to sleep with that they met, so he stayed behind.
Romeo was currently teaching Jaiyana a few tricks with the gun at the warehouse while Harlyn was out spending her father’s money and Halo. He should be at the bakery.
Juliano made his way to his father’s office and locked the door behind him. He clicked the button under the desk, then went down the steps.
He walked past the wall with the weapons and looked at it. He had been here many times and just couldn’t decide which one he liked the most. From what he knew, Halo liked the baseball bat and his father enjoyed using a gun and his fists.
He picked up the baseball bat, but it felt heavy in his hands. Looking around, he saw an axe and picked it up. It felt light and comfortable.
He made his way to the first door. He pushed it open and went inside. Looking around, he couldn’t explain what he was feeling. He was terrified, but there was no way he would turn back now.
Going to the desk, he switched the computer on and waited. Once it was ready, he clicked on an icon. The interface popped up, and it was the software to open the doors.
Juliano knew why he was here and what he was after. He had done enough research and waited for the perfect time, which was now — it was time to be free of his demons.
He opened the fourth and fifth doors. Walking out of the first room, he stormed to the fifth room and looked at the woman that was asleep on the bed. She was their mother and Arnold’s wife. Since she had been locked up here, Romeo had suspected that she was at peace. She even asked him to kill her years ago, but he refused.
Walking up to the bed, Juliano looked down at her and said, “Wake up.”
She caught a fright because it had been days since Romeo had paid them a visit. She turned to him and saw the axe in his hand. She smiled at him and said, “You’re a big boy now.”
Juliano raised a brow and threw the axe on the bed. He climbed on her and put his hands on her throat. Pushing her down, he choked her, as he was trembling.
Juliano watched the life leave her eyes as she turned red from lack of oxygen. She was clawing at him, but unfortunately, she was weak and died.
Juliano climbed off of her and sat on the bed. He looked down at his hands that had just killed someone and they were trembling. He looked at her body and, although there were tears falling from his eyes, he had a sense of assurance.
He heard a gasp, and when he looked up, Anna was standing by the door.
When she realised she gave herself away, she tried to get away, but Juliano had grabbed the axe and ran after her. He threw her with the axe and she fell to the ground, screaming.
Juliano stopped by her as she was crawling and grabbed the axe. He pulled it out, making her scream louder, then kicked her in her mouth as he grew angry.
He dropped the axe and went to get the baseball bat. Returning, he saw she had the axe in her hand and she looked like she was trying to defend herself, but anyone could see that it was futile.
He walked up to her and hit her with the bat, snapping her spine. He ignored her cries of pain and, strike after strike; the anger building up in his body grew stronger.
From their cells, Nicola and Arnold watched the horrific scene. Nicola was trembling, but Arnold he had expected as much.

There was nothing left of Anna but the blood at his feet and the pieces of flesh and bones. She was unrecognisable.
Juliano made his way back to the first room and sat on the chair. He pulled up the surveillance cameras and saw Arnold sitting on the bed, looking at Nicola, she was balled up in the corner and recalled that she shouldn’t be alive.
He opened her cell and got up. Walking in, he looked at her and asked, “Why are you scared?”
She looked up at him, frightened, then looked away and shook her head, mumbling something. He looked at the bat in his hand and was too lazy to get the axe. Come to think of it, he enjoyed the feeling of beating someone to death.
He looked at Nicola and smirked. “I probably would have felt better if you didn’t exist.”
Nicola looked up at him as the words registered. But that is all that happened. Juliano sent the bat down, hitting her head right into her spine, ending her pathetic life, but maybe this was a peaceful ending for her.
Walking out of her cell, he went to Arnold’s and asked, “If you could go back in time, would you repeat what you did?”
Arnold raised his head and looked at him. “I loved Nicola more than I loved my wife. Your father took away from me what was mine.”
A smile formed on his face and he said, “But you, my sweet, sweet boy, if only I had met you before I met my wife, maybe things would have been different.”
“You motherfucker!” Juliano said between gritted teeth. He launched forward, raised the bat in the air and as he looked at Arnold just before he slammed the bat into his head, he saw the look that Romeo and Halo gazed at each other with every day.

Juliano was exhausted. He walked back up the steps, through the office, and out into the passage, leaving a bloody trail. He was covered in blood, and his eyes were closed.
Milaan was in the kitchen making dinner so that Halo didn’t have to come home and cook. She had her headphones on, so she heard nothing, but from the corner of her eye, she saw something and looked up.
Her eyes widened in horror, and she screamed when she saw her brother.
Juliano didn’t even hear her. He pushed the back door open and walked toward the pool. He dropped into it as he stepped over the edge, dying the clear water red.
Milaan was scared shitless and peed on herself. She yanked the headphones off her head and out of her phone, immediately calling Romeo.
Romeo couldn’t even make out what she was saying because she was crying. After she spoke to her father, she rushed outside and jumped into the pool. She pulled Juliano out. Looking at him, she didn’t know if he was alive or dead, but he was smiling as he looked up at the evening sky.
“Ju, Juli?” She called to him as she wiped his cheeks.
His gaze moved to her. Lifting his hand, he saw that he still had the axe in his hand and placed it down beside them. He cupped her cheeks and asked, “Why are you crying?”
“Why, why are you like this?” She asked.
He took a deep breath and started laughing. He hugged Milaan and said, “No one’s going to hurt us anymore, no one.”
“Who? Who’s going to hurt us?” She asked, confused.
“No one,” he answered and closed his eyes, giving in to his exhaustion.
