Chapter 2: Real Life is like Minecraft

I gazed blankly into the still morning sky, with a look of confusion dotting my face as I did so.

'How do I even craft things with my crafting system!?'

I wanted to scream, but decided against it. After all, I was in a forest, and if I were to scream, it would have likely attracted a bear or something to come out of no where and kill me. Though it might be possible that there aren't bears in this place...

'Perhaps I can craft things if I did it like this...'

"System..."

A dark blue screen appeared before. It seemed like my plan was a success. At least half of it. It showed the crafting recipe from early, in which a stick is used to craft a thin wooden strip.

'This doesn't really answer my question on how to craft things. But at least I do know how to make this screen pop up. Now. Now, do I just have to press onto the screen to craft the item?'

I wondered before pressing the screen. The stick in my hand vanished with light blue sparkles, to be replaced by a thin wooden strip.

[Crafting has been successful]

'Seems like it had worked. But it's kind of a shame that I had to waste a stick to learn how to craft.'

I thought to myself, before throwing the thin wooden strip to the side. I doubt it would help me build a shelter, after all, such a small thing wouldn't exactly help me build a house.

'If I manage to acquire enough materials, hopefully some new crafting recipes will appear on the system.'

I smiled as I felt the energy rushing through me, and took a berry into my mouth.

'Now let's get the tools for making a house!'

7 minutes later.

I had 12 small rocks, and 10 sticks in my hand. These items could barely fit in my small, thin hands. Though they weren't exactly heavy, it was just inconvenient to carry.

'Unfortunately, I didn't get much items from my journey, but at least I got to know the local area better. Though I wonder... If there's some kind of river that runs through this forest. I would definitely need some kind of fresh water source to shower and get water.'

I thought to myself before a smile came onto my face.

'I should worry about those things later, since I've thankfully obtained some new crafting recipes.'

'I've unlocked quite a lot of items from my trip into the forest! But honestly, I'm a bit divided on what I should craft. It's either that I craft the Stone Axe or the Sitck Basket. The Stone Axe would help me collect wood and sticks. But the Stick Basket would seriously improve my ability to transport and sort items. It would definitely be far better than storing all my items in my jacket and in my hands. Speaking of which... My gray jacket seems to be dyed a shade of purple as a result of the berries crushing against one another, resulting in them leaking a berry like juice. Maybe I shouldn't store my berries in my jacket.'

I pondered before the thought shot through my mind.

'Wait. It's just more economical and efficient to get the Stone Axe first, rather than the basket! If I get the basket first, I wouldn't exactly get the chance to build my house. While if I get the Stone Axe, I can just chop down a tree and use the sticks from it to craft a basket.'

I made my mind.

"System."

The crafting screen appeared before me with the 4 crafting recipes and I pressed on the panel with the stone axe.

The five stones and two sticks in my hand vanish as a Stone Axe appears on the ground. I then bent over to lay my sticks, stones and berries onto the ground. Then grabbing the axe but pausing for a moment. A dark blue panel appeared as I was about to grab it.

[Axe of lower than average quality]

'Eh...'

I had nothing to say. I just felt insulted by this statement.

'Was my axe really that bad... Hopefully it isn't because I don't want it to break as I cut down a tree. Hopefully it doesn't.'

I thought before grabbing the axe and walking up to a tree. Then staring blankly.

'Wait... I don't have any experience doing this. How should I cut down the tree...'

I stared at the tree for some more.
