Year 4 Month 7
It's been a week since John started building a second floor on their house, the house was a 3-bedroom house and after the second floor is done it will be a 5-bedroom house, I don't think it's needed but it is their house so who am I to judge. I then hear Lily talking to John as he is working.
"Let's get Sam to make a good sword for Leo, he's going away for years and I want him to have something from us with him," Lily says.
"Way ahead of you babe, I already asked but his queue is full for a while and he won't have time until after Leo is sent to Greymarsh," John says with a sigh
"Does he not have any swords, at all?" Lily asks in confusion.
"The war with the Vealon Empire takes every sword that can be made," John says in an irritated voice.
"Well, let's think of something he can take with him," Lily says before they stop talking.
'If I can infuse aura into skills could I put aura into items, like what if I shape a root into a sword and then fill it with aura? Would that make a magic weapon or something?'
I start trying to do exactly that, I pick one of my roots and try to compress it into a single thin blade with a sharp edge, you would think this is hard but with level 3 [Root Control] this is very easy, as I'm doing this I add Aura stone into this to add some needed weight to the blade. After a day of this, I end with a blade that looks like a piece of art, a wooden blade with glowing green veins running through the blade, a hilt made of wood with tendrils wrapping around the base of the blade, some of my biggest leaves as a grip, and a pommel made from an aura stone with wood wrapping around it. I was proud of this sword and admired it for a while before doing the same I have done with my root sense, pushing aura into the sword, it flowed through the aura stone veins in the sword and then branched off into the blade. It took 3 more days to make this even with my 25 roots sending all the aura they absorb to the sword.

You have Infused an item with a pure nature aura, making a Tier 3 magic weapon, the sword has been named 'Knights Bane'.
'It works! but what is a tier 3 magic weapon? Is it strong?' I ponder for a while but then just give in to my excitement at having made a magic weapon at all.
'System what does this sword do?'
Ding!
Knights Bane: A magic blade made with aura stone and the wood of a spirit tree. It has gained a property from each of the materials used.
Aura stone: when aura touches this weapon it will steal some of the aura and store it in the weapon's pommel, the holder of the weapon can choose to release all the aura at once behind the next slash.
Spirit wood: This weapon can be repaired by sticking it into the ground and letting it absorb nutrients in the soil. The pieces of the sword that fell off disappear when that piece is healed on the sword.
Item Gift: This item was made to be a gift so it can only be used by the person it is made for, 'Leo Brownpaw'.
'Wait, is this the first time I heard their last name? hmm I guess I have always just called them the 'Family' so it's good to have a name now"
I look at my work, a fine sword that should help Leo on this path to knighthood, and then I stick it in the ground to wait till Lily comes by again. I then send my roots back to feeding my aura crystal.

You have infused aura into a physical item and a phantom skill, you gain the skill [Infusion].
'What does Infusion do?'
Ding!
[Infusion]:
-The skill to infuse aura or mana into an object without the mental strain of doing it manually.
-This skill does not level.
'That's good to have, it will streamline upgrades as I won't need to pay constant attention to what I'm doing'
The next day I see Lily walking up the hill I am on with Melia hand in hand.
"Hey, mom look at that sword!" Melia says in wonder.
"hmm?" Lily looks at where Melia is looking and gets confused.

"Why is there a sword there?" Lily mutters.
She then walks up the hill to the sword and picks it up.
"This is a good blade, why would someone just leave this here?" She mutters after looking the blade up and down.
"Mom, didn't brother need a sword?" Melia asks with a glint in her eyes.
"Yes he does but we can't just take the sword, this probably belongs to someone" Lily responds.
"Then let's just take it inside and if nobody comes to get it before Brother goes off to the academy then he can have it!" Melia happily suggests.
'Bro isn't she only 1, why does she talk like an adult? She should just be starting talking so why?' I think as I look at Melia, I then think back to when I was thinking about the possibility of other reincarnators.
'No way, right?' I look at Lily's expression and it seems like this is normal so that gets rid of the option of this being a one-off event.
'I'll keep an eye on her for now but she seems normal, hmmm this is troubling.'
Year 4 Month 8
New stuff has happened, the first thing is that John finished the new floor of the house where he and Lily are staying now with the kids on the bottom floor still, the house looks like 2 story cabin, if you look at it by modern standards it would be a winter vacation home for a rich family, so it looked nice.
2 days after the house was done the first group of beastkin came through the town, they looked cold and starving. From what I heard the group had escaped from a Baron's house is the Vealon Empire, most of the group was passing through the town but one of the women in the group had decided to stay in the town and look for work, I found out her name is Ame and she is a white cat-type beastkin, she wandered around the town looking for a job or a place to stay until she could find some work. After asking around the town for the better part of an hour she ran into Lily and Melia when they were walking around the town.
"Umm hello miss, my name is Ame and I just came to this town from the Vealon Empire, I was wondering if you knew of any work that is open in this town, I have asked around but nobody knows of any open positions." Ame sheepishly asked Lily with a slight bow.
"Do you know how to clean?" Lily asks her.
"Yes mam, I was a maid in a baron's household before I came here" Ame responds after giving a quick nod.
"Well, my house just got an upgrade so it's bigger and I could use some help with cooking and cleaning if you want I could ask my husband if we can put you in one of our free rooms." Lily offers to the joy of Ame.
"That would be wonderful miss uhhh" Ame starts but stops after realizing she doesn't know the name of the person in front of her.
"Lily" Lily offers to her.
"That would be wonderful miss Lily, thank you for the opportunity," Ame says with a deeper bow this time.
"Oh no need for the bowing, now come with me," Lily says as she starts walking back to the house.
After making it to the house Lily talks to John about hiring Ame because she wants to go back to Tailoring which she says she misses but doesn't want to leave Melia alone for any amount of time. After some thought, John eventually gives in and says yes to it. He then sets up Ame in the vacant room on the bottom floor of the house. She seems to get settled in pretty fast which is nice. after that Lily starts asking Ame some questions.
"So why did you choose to stay here and not go with the other beastkin?" Lily asks her with a cereus tone.
After clearing her throat, she says "Well we were never close with each other and only really traveled together out of convenience." She says in a calm manner.
"I also did not think we would make it to the next town. you saw us, you see me right now, we were barely surviving on the road and because none of us had any combat training, if we stumbled on any monsters on the road we would have all died. With all that together I decided to stay here and look for work." She says all that with the same voice.
"That does make sense with how you look right now," Lily responds while looking over Ame's thin body and dirty skin and fur.
"Ok, let's get you into a bath and get some meat on those bones" Lily continues with a cheery tone.
It's been a week since then and it's time for Leo to travel to the knight academy with john. He seems excited at this but also very nervous at the same time. Lily gave him the sword I made and the look in his eyes made my day. He packed all his stuff into a cart that John had just bought and they traveled off into the sunset, jokes aside they left in the morning so they had as much sun as possible. That left just Lily, Ame, and Melia in the house for a while. The next time I will see Leo is when he is a full-blown knight.
'You know, now that I think about it, how much does John make? Like he can afford to upgrade his house and buy a horse-drawn wagon, along with paying to have Leo go to a knight's school for 10 years, paying for a maid like Ame, and I heard he is thinking about sending Melia to a mage school when she is older.'
He must be making bank when he does work because of how much time he spends and how little he actually spends working, he is home most of the time. Then again, does it really matter? He affords a great lifestyle for his family and even helps someone get into the world after being a slave, even if he needed a bit of convincing on the last part.
