“By the way, Minato,” Jiraiya, who was about to leave, added. “Beware of Orochimaru. He’s always planning something. Since childhood, he has been obsessed with finding himself. He will stop at nothing to reach his goals.
Jiraiya sighed, remembering the time he had tried to stop his friend.
“I was his comrade for years, but I never knew who he really was. As far back as I can remember, he's always been... different.”
The Sannin looked sad.
“By the way, you said that Pa and Ma were killed by some snakes armed with swords?”
“Yes, and almost without a trace of a struggle. It's as if they couldn’t defend themselves.”
Both men looked at each other. They knew something was wrong.
“Anyway, their funeral will take place shortly after Fugaku's trial, at Mount Myoboku. Will you be there? Jiraiya asked.
Minato sighed.
“It's just…”
“No one is mad at you if that's what you're afraid of. We made a blood pact with the toads of Mount Myoboku. It's part of the contract. It’s a risk everyone is aware of.”
“Do they know more about their death?”
“I haven't had the chance to hear the details. Gamahiro told me that old Sennin was disturbed, but I don't know more. Something is wrong if you ask me. It is also for this reason that I intend to go to the funeral.”
Minato nodded.
“For now, I'll see what I can do about Hiashi.”
The Sannin opened the front door.
“Beware of Orochimaru,” he warned again.
Minato smiled at him.
“Don't worry, Jiraiya-sensei. I’m not the Yondaime Hokage for nothing!”
Jiraiya closed his eyes, sighed, and left the house. A smile appeared on his face when he closed the door.
Kushina woke up a few minutes later.
“I had a wonderful dream.”
Minato, who was setting Naruto up in his bed, turned to her smiling. She frowned.
"Did you change his diaper?"
“Ah… I forgot!”
“Forgot?! If you weren't my savior, I swear I’ll let you have it.”
“Your savior?” Minato wondered, still on guard.
“You saved me twice from that masked man bastard.”
Minato's facial expression suddenly changed.
Jiraiya rang the doorbell of the head of the Hyuga clan. A servant came to open it.
“Good morning, dear friend. Can you tell Hiashi Hyuga that the legendary Sannin Jiraiya is waiting for him at his doorstep?” He said in a theatrical voice.
"He's not here," the man replied in a neutral voice.
“Oh…” Jiraiya mumbled, disappointed that his arrival didn't have more of an effect. “And where is he?”
“He is training.”
Going to the clan's training ground, Jiraiya indeed noticed Hiashi training on the tatami. Six clan members were around him. In a few seconds, he put five on the ground with quick blows. The last man didn't have time to react when a powerful palm strike blocked his breathing and propelled him away.
“It's a funny way to train with your comrades,” Jiraiya said, catching the injured young Hyuga with his hair. “It’s a bit much, don’t you think?”
“Jiraiya-sensei,” Hiashi whispered without even turning around.
The men got up as best they could, greeted Jiraiya, and left the room. The Sannin advanced towards Hiashi, who did not look back.
“Jiraiya-sensei, I hope you didn't come this far just to talk to me.”

“Yes, and you should listen to me.”
Hiashi closed his eyes.
“They killed my brother.”
“Who?”
“Those filthy Uchiha dogs!” Hiashi yelled, his voice echoing in the dojo.
Jiraiya sighed.
“The Uchihas have nothing to do with it. You're looking for a culprit and that's normal, but…”
“He admitted it! That bastard Fugaku confessed!”
Jiraiya remained silent.
“Mikoto sent you, right?” Hiashi said angrily.
“Mikoto? For your information, Mikoto is still in a coma! I would have thought you would care more about your comrade!”
“I advise you to leave now.”
“Or what?” Jiraiya joked.
Without warning, Hiashi turned around and sent a powerful blow toward Jiraiya. The latter stopped him by grabbing his wrist, without apparent difficulty.
“You’re letting your anger get the better of you. Your blows are too predictable, especially for me. I know you well, Hiashi.”
Hiashi ejected chakra from his wrist, forcing Jiraiya to let go.
“Minato sent me. He worries about you.”
Hiashi did not answer.
“He wants to help you,” Jiraiya added. “And me too.”
“I do not need help.”
Jiraiya burst out laughing.
“Is that so?”
“Listen, go and say that to Hizashi’s wife and son. They haven't come out since his death. So go tell Neji to get out of the house and enjoy life!”
“Except that Neji is not at home,” a voice said at the entrance, startling Hiashi.
He didn't see it coming. Jiraiya thought.
The Sannin quickly understood why. Kushina had just arrived with Minato. The latter disappeared as quickly as he had come. He had only accompanied Kushina. Both had agreed that Naruto should stay alone as little as possible.
“Neji has been kidnapped by Orochimaru!” Kushina added.
Hiashi and Jiraiya had surprised expressions.
“Lies! You are Mikoto’s friend. You want to protect the Uchihas.”
“You’re being stupid, ya know! Well go ahead, go ask his wife if Neji is still there.”
“Since the death of her husband, she has not left her house. She doesn't want to talk, and I respect that choice,” Hiashi said, looking to the side.
“You do what you want. But I'm going.”
With an energetic and confident step, she walked toward Hizashi’s house. After some hesitation, the Hyuga followed her, as well as Jiraiya. She knocked. No answer. She knocked again, harder this time.
“Hey! Someone there?! It's Kushina! If no one opens, I’ll break the door, ya know!”
And she just did that, leaving Jiraiya in awe.
She entered the house without the slightest embarrassment. The other two hesitated, then followed her.
They found Hizashi’s wife and understood why she hadn't left her house. Her feet were inches off the ground, not far from a stool. Her head rested on a rope. She had hanged herself. Despair had gotten the better of her.
