We arrived at the library, and Fiona opened the door to let us both in. Kilakarai had left for the dungeon after drinking some more of my blood, which she said was very tasty.
"So what are we looking up first?" Fiona asked as she pulled out a chair for me.
" Sand Demons," I replied, and she nodded as she walked over to the shelves of books. There had to be millions of them, and I wondered how long it would take to read them all.
She came back with a couple of large books that were twice the size of a phonebook and thumped them down in front of me before going back for more. When she was done, there had to be at least twenty books in front of me from different angles, so I couldn't even see the table anymore.
Great, just what I needed; homework on top of my real work today…
"So, there are a lot of different kinds of demons and monsters, but you don't have to read them all! Laura! You are needed!" Fiona called, and we waited for a moment.
Laura the Specter came floating through a wall in distorted smoke that formed her gray transparent body, but her purple eyes always caught me. That was a girl I was excited about forging and seeing what weapon I was going to get from her. Before that happened, I wanted to build up a relationship with her since it wasn't something that needed to happen right away.
Even though I had Forged Kilakarai, I still wasn't strong enough to use her in battle. I wanted to make sure that the other weapons I created were of the highest quality if I could help it, but I knew there were going to be more cases like KilaKarai. I just had to do the best I could and get stronger, for all the girl's sake.
"Laura, and you quickly read everything here, and then Ghost Transfer everything to Azriel?" Fiona asked, and Laura nodded, but she had an unsure look on her face. I personally didn't have the foggiest about what Fiona was talking about.
"I can, but the most that the information will last is two days if he doesn't use it," Laura explained, and I put up my hand, making both girls giggle at me, and then Laura pointed at me. "Yes, my King. What is it that you are requesting of your lowly scribe?"
"What do you mean by use it?" I asked, ignoring the girl's fun jabs at me that I secretly loved and that they felt comfortable enough to do around me. There was a point where it might go too far, but this was cute for now.
"You need to think about the information. Teaching it to others helps, but it is really hard to retain everything that is Ghosted to you," Laura explained.
"Azriel will be back in less than that time, so I don't think there is any worry. This also is something that is very easy for you to do and has no negative side effects for the King. I am sure that you two can use this time to get to know each other better, so I don't have to come each time to dig out all these books!" Fiona laughed, and Laura's cheeks seemed to get whiter.
"Laura is also going over everything as she reads it, so don't worry about anything. Just enjoy the knowledge for what it is and think about how you could help others in the future," Fiona explained, making Laura's eyes brighten some as Fiona gave me a quick kiss and left to room. That left the two of us alone in awkward silence.
"Um, so do you want to sit by me while I work?" I asked, unsure of myself even though the attraction was there.
Laura nodded quickly before she went and got a chair next to me. I watched in fascination while also trying not to laugh as Laura picked up one book at a time and stuck her face through them. It was actually really impressive, and I tried hard to think about the information going into my head as it was happening.
"Now, try not to overload yourself with information all at once; just think about the stuff you need, for now, what is important for this mission," Laura explained, sensing my excitement.
Most of it seemed like common sense or something that wouldn't help me too much if I was fighting a Sand Demon since they were immune to fire, according to what Laura had found out so far in her quick readings. There was also tons of information on all sorts of other monsters that might be found in the area. Because it was a sand demon ruling over the area, there was a good chance that many of the monsters would be different types of sand and fire-based demons. That didn't mean there weren't going to be other monsters, so I needed to have all sorts of knowledge, and I was getting it, one book at a time.
The next two hours flew by as I added more and more information to what I knew, but there was only so much that a person could take in. I felt like my head was about to explode, but also excited about the battle ahead.

Finally, Laura got to the last book, and she let out a long sigh and leaned back, and I mirrored her. I was scared to think about anything, and I was counting my breaths to keep my head clear for now. There was so much in my brain, and if I thought about something, there was a good chance that I was going to have at least five sources of information about it, and I just wanted some peace for a bit.
"You did really good," Laura said as she put a hand on my shoulder, and I nodded while still not looking at her. It took me a couple of minutes to get myself together before I looked over at Laura.
"That was… A lot," I said, and she giggled softly before nodding in agreement with me. "I feel like my head is going to explode!"
Then I felt myself be pulled to Laura, but not physically.
'Me too….' Laura's voice echoed in my mind like an afterthought that wasn't meant for me to hear as her eyes got wide and she started shaking her head no rapidly with both hands now on my shoulders, trying desperately to get the message across not to listen in on her thoughts!
"No! No! No! Azriel, please don't listen in on people's thoughts!" Laura begged as she grabbed onto me tightly while still shaking her head no rapidly, but it was too late because I had already heard what she thought. 'He can hear people's thoughts?' 'Oh crap!' 'He is going to hate me now!' those were just some of the things that went through her mind, along with an image of us kissing each other passionately.
"I am not trying to! It just started to happen! It's not like I want this!" I said as I kept on hearing her thoughts, so I concentrated on my breathing again until the room was quiet.
"That is strange. You shouldn't be able to do something like that, but you crossed over into my mind for a moment. It was like you reversed the Ghost Transfer and used it as a connection, but I don't understand how that is possible," Laura explained, and I shrugged.
"I just felt myself get pulled to your mind. I had no way to stop it, so I don't really understand how to control it, but focusing seems to stop it," I said, and Laura nodded.
"Well, something like that could be useful for creatures that can't talk," Laura said as she got up from beside me. "I guess that you need to go, but I did enjoy spending some time with you. I hope we can do this again soon."
"Yeah, me too," I replied as she opened the door for me. I gave her a quick smile before heading back up to get Melty from her room.
It was time to put all this knowledge to good use, but I had to also get some more meat for Sasha. She was only slightly out of my way, and this would give me a chance to talk to her more. I also could try turning her into a weapon, but I think it would be better for her to do it while she was in heat. That would give me a greater chance at a better weapon, or that was what I assumed. It also made her a lot more dangerous to deal with, meaning I needed to get a lot strong in the next four days.
When I got up to Melty's room, I knocked on the door, and she called for me to enter. "I am in the bathtub!"
I opened the door, and she was in the tub with her arms up on the edge while her long black hair was down, covering most of her front. "I see you are busy," I said.
"Yes! You can join me if you want!" Melty yelled as she tried to get up, and I came over to kiss her passionately.
"I do need to give you a quick upgrade before we leave," I said playfully as I reached down between her legs into the water. I found the little nub that I was looking for and started rubbing it softly as she gasped. "I need you to be able to hold more water, so let me upgrade your body a bit."
"Yes! Anything for you, my King!" Melty exclaimed as her whole body shivered in pleasure.
