Lonely Hearts, Dial Me Up

Trapped by late exams and snowstorms, college student Misha knows she's about to spend another holiday alone until she encounters an advertisement for the one-time-use Lonely Hearts virtual reality system, which promises an ideal Christmas at the cost of slight memory alterations. Still, it's not like she's got a lot to lose, and a twisted chance at happiness is better than a missed one. Dialing the machine up, where do reality and sensation start and stop, and what's this mysterious, perfect woman suddenly doing at her house when the setting keeps changing on a whim?
