2 – Stats, Status, and the State of Things

If you’ve reached this junction: congratulations, the chances of you being reborn as a villainess is so high. (Why was this not a definitive declarative sentence? Obviously because we cannot consult with each reader individually. We manage to sell millions of copies of this book every turn of the unified clock. It would be impossible, even with our resources, to consult with each of you and discover if you did become a villainess.) We assume you already did some preliminary research about your circumstances and the environment of the body you are currently occupying.

Despite most villainess roles not having stats most of the time (as isekai-ing into an actual game based story is both rare and common), we’re going to teach you to do the basic things any good body-occupying spirit being should know. Assuming that you do not have knowledge of these skills, due to the lack of this field of study in your own plane or your own inherent incapacity, we should go over the basic things.

If you found yourself into the world of an otome, magic-based, stat-based, or skill-based world system, you of course need to know what do to with yourself. One cannot rely on the circumstances you were born into as that body and that circumstances were initially not meant for you. Depending on the rules of the world, you might even experience some rebuff from the local divinity. The only way for you to survive or achieve other personal goals (we do not judge here) is to grasp things by your own hand.

Whether willing or unwilling, the reality is you are in the body and among the circumstances of a villainess as soon as your spirit has settled into those dense bones and distinct sinews of meat.  From this point onward, this world is your world – treat it like it is your original world. These worlds you will live and die in, you need to live a good life. Do not for one second think of pretending that there individuals you are interacting with are not independent individuals unless you can justly prove so.

There have been reports from the Reborn Heroines and Travelling Saintesseseseseses’ Department that some individuals got into their head that they’re in a dream or a virtual game (please where are the tokens even if that’s the case. Heroines.). Before of the publication of this guide, there were some villainesses who were dumb innocent enough to think they can go about living off game strategy. This was not a very pleasant experience for domestic and foreign government bodies altogether. You’ve been warned so watch out. Start a journal or something.

You don’t have one of those holo-status boards that sometimes come as a bonus? Worry not! Any good villainess should be able to look in the mirror and go “I look weak. I need to improve!”. You don’t need no status board! You only need to be smart enough to realize that by preparing yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally for any unexpected scenario only benefits you.

This is not a talent but a skill. It not only applies to yourself but also when you look at others, and the world around you. The following subsections will be dedicated to getting the hang of this skill, how best to practice it, and where can you most effectively use it!

Bring a paper and pen next time!
