Chapter 3: New Era

"where are these cunts coming from There's  no end to them"

A Tall brown skinned man  with Greying hair  exclaimed as he used the binoculars to look further ahead, trying to find an end to the swarm of spiders. He stood atop one of the 10 meter Concrete blocks meant to be part of the barricade.

"There have been reports of abnormally large arachnids found in the outback about a 3 months ago but the ones found weren't as big as these ones" 

A man in a white lab coat with short black hair  and glasses  informed the general, the man carried a book on his hand

"WHAT THE FUCK, why weren't we warned about this, these things  are at our door step because you failed at your job!!"

Despite his shouting, the General was still quite calm he knew what he said was unreasonable, nobody could have expected this even for Australia.

"No, sir we didn't fail at our jobs  the spiders found  were still relatively closer to the normal spiders found in this region plus they weren't poisonous so they were hardly anything to worry about" 

The spider expert explained absolving himself of any  blame but deep down he wished he had somehow known so he could have prevented this.

The chopper in the sky was a news helicopter broadcast every thing that was happening live. 

"this is Judy Ross  from news Australia, reporting live in the sky of Melbourne Australia where the military seems to be battling against Giant spider creatures, things are looking grim as there’s seems to be no end to these creatures, the number of casualties is unknown. Hopefully the military can stop this threat."

The reporter spoke and let the camera man  focus on the spiders broadcasting such an event to the world.

While this was happening Rimuru appeared right above the helicopter and floated in the air, his pale blue hair  flowed in the air due to the wind,  he looked down below him and observed the situation. As he observed he was stricken by a sense of guilt, he couldn't imagine the amount of people that must have died even if he wanted to bring them back he didn't know how long  it has been since this arachnid problems began so the best he could do was eliminate them.

By the looks of things these spider had no queen or maybe she was waiting at their nest but it didn't seem likely since there weren't spiders carrying back any food but simply ate whatever was in front of them, he quickly  used his Magic sense  and determined that there were no large magic signatures aside from the ones he was sensing.

Raising his arm high he conjured up millions of flat disks in the sky, covering the whole of sky of Melbourne Australia before decided to do a repeat of the Falmuth army massacre.

"Megiddo"

Small droplets of pale blue slime rained down upon the spiders, the droplets were the same size as a marble and moved at a  speed fast enough to pierce through solid iron infact iron might as well be paper, Rimuru focused and carefully picked them off while also keeping mind  to avoid any humans. To normal humans this looked like rain 

The sudden raining caused  people to look up  in the sky, it was a cloudless day so the sudden rain was confusing but it didn't take long for the people to see the pale blue disks in the sky before quickly settling their eyes on the figure of Rimuru, the news helicopter quickly maneuvered to get a good shot of the person responsible for what was happening, luckily he wasn't hiding his face so the cameraman got a good shot of him, a blue haired man wearing a black jacket and black t-shirt along with blue jeans and sandals  his face was masculine with a defined jaw and golden eyes  his body seemed fairly  muscular but a lean type of muscular.

Rimuru paid no mind to the cameras he usually uses Satorou Mikami as his normal form so he's only causing problems for Ciel  since she looks like a more feminine version of him with red eyes and boobs  which are C- cups by the way.

"a little revenge Ciel, that's what you get for watching it without Me" 

He mumbled before returning his focus to killing the spiders, they seemed to be endless but he had infinite magicules so he'll find out if their numbers are truly endless or not in a few minutes. His little revenge might seem a little excessive but it was just a minor thing fame is hardly a terrible thing.

In a couple of seconds Rimuru was done, there was no movement from the spiders, they were all dead, he could have used black lightning or black flame but those skills would have caused a lot of damage, there are other skills he could use but Megiddo was the first he thought of when he saw the spiders so he just rolled with it.

With his work done, Rimuru  Disappeared and left the people of Australia in awe at his power and thankful that the crisis was averted .

The news of a blue haired man saving Japan from a monster lizard like creature and saving Australia  from giant spiders  spread like wild fire  not only that but Rimuru had saved several countries  all around the world, showing people that they had a way to fight against  monsters. Each of his exploits were documented by various governments trying to figure out what power was  he using how could he do what he was doing  and whether or not they  could replicate it luckily Rimuru has given hints of what he was doing often saying  the names of his attack Loud Enough to be heard, the United nations tried to do experiments to perform similar tasks but were met with failure.

It was only a year after the appearance of monsters that humans who could perform similar feats as Rimuru started to appear showing their skills to the public further telling the  people that humans had a chance of surviving against Giant white tigers and dragons or wyverns, however due to massive property damage and the fear that such individuals would be a danger in the future. Many governments requested that these super powered individuals work for the government or at the very least register their names and power  to any  government building so that they would be monitored, this of course was met with resistance  most agreed but because the government already has their information anyways but a few didn't, the ones who were rebellious didn't like being under the thumb of a government and the government didn't like wild cards like that so most countries created organizations meant to deal with both monsters and rogue  individuals with powers that allowed them to  contend against monsters.

These organizations created by various governments in the world were known as [Hunter guilds] where people with the ability to  fight monsters will be registered and be able to use their abilities to hunt down any monster that appears in populated areas and be paid for doing as such. The United nation's hunter association [UNHA] was created to monitor hunter guilds and keep all information regarding Hunter guild and its members, it was Also in charge of developing new technologies and weapons to be able to detain hunters should they go rogue. The term  [Rogue hunter] was given to people who hunted monsters but weren't registered as hunters and thus were illegal hunters so a bounty system was put in place to catch these criminals.

The  world had begun to change, with the  existence of monsters peace became very hard to grasp as the normal folk had to live in fear of being attacked by monsters out of nowhere but things gradually returned to some form of normal as the existence of hunters made things easier  and  after 5 years things he become peaceful again well as close to peace as it can get with monsters around.
