Chapter 10: V1C10 – Returnees from Orvinus

The moderately lit 1-A classroom dithered between moods as 7 remaining classmates talked in a close group. 

"Your lying! Yui-chan, you're actually acquainted with the real Nakano Ai?"

"That's Saegusa-san to you. Also, it's nothing big, we just met by coincidence."

The one asking is Tatsumi Yamamoto, a wild-looking youth with a bulky build and blue-dyed hair. The one responding is Yui Saegusa, the capable cold-beauty with free-flowing black hair. 

"Still, that's amazing. You know someone famous..."

"She may be famous but she's a normal girl too you know?"

"Well, of course. But, can you really say that after you see all of her accomplishments piled up? It drives home the fact we're from different worlds."

"I didn't know that you were so interested in her Yamamoto-san."

"Well, obviously. She's a beauty."

*whack*

Satomi gave a light knock on the head to Tatsumi as he chuckled heartily. Satomi Hayase is a motherly girl with moderate-length dark brown hair and well-endowed.

"Mou~ Tatsumi's always going on and on about girls...I'm glad Ryo isn't like that."

Rino Fujiwara said. Energetic, with a small stature and shorter hair. Her round hazel eyes and child-like features can mistake her for someone several years younger.

"Isn't that right Ryo?"

"Hmm? Ah, yeah."

"What are you spacing out for?"

"Sorry..."

The one who responded apathetically was Ryosuke Hikaru. An ikemen, the son of a wealthy family, and a natural charmer. He has firm brown hair and sky blue eyes, as well as a strong but lean build. Tatsumi, Satomi, and Ryosuke have all known each other since childhood.

"Anyways, what about you Sato? Ayame? Are you idol fans?"

"Hmm, I'm not a crazy fan of idols but I like them normally I guess."

"I'm the same. I don't really know much about them but I guess I respect them as much as the next person."

The ones who responded were Sato Shiraishi and Ayame Suzuki. Sato is a good friend of Tatsumi's whose quick to judge and goes with the flow. Though he isn't that extraordinary physically like Tatsumi or Ryosuke, he has sharp features and black eyes.

Ayame Suzuki is a tomboyish girl with a long dark ponytail hanging behind her. With fair skin, round brown eyes, and enviable proportions, she's held in high regard as one of this school's beauties. The group of 7 friends was about to have an otherworldly experience...

"Hey, guys..."

"W-What is this?"

The floor shined bright blue with a cryptic circular formation pulsing throughout. Ryosuke took action,

"Stay calm!"

He shouted as he pulled those near him away from the light source. But, it was meaningless as...the 7 people in the room were spirited away.

That was how it all began, the tale of the heroes summoned from another world. The story goes like so,

In the fantasy world [Orvinus] of swords, magic, and monsters existed a myriad of beings. Two of the most prominent in the entire continent were the human race and the demon race. They coexisted, though their relationships were frigid until the [Demon Lord] came to be. The [Demon Lord] is known as the rightful ruler of the demon race that awakens to aid them. In the current day of [Orvinus], was when a new [Demon Lord] was born and declared war on humanity. The name of that [Demon Lord] was Vetheris.

Vetheris and his demon army crushed human nations left and right, ultimately cornering them to the last major nation, the [Holy Kingdom]. The [Holy Kingdom], fighting a losing battle, decided to perform the ancient summoning ritual passed down for generations to save them from imminent destruction. This is known as the [Hero Summoning] to summon heroes from another world. After performing the ceremony, the new heroes, blessed by the Goddess [Ervia], began training vigorously from the best the [Holy Kingdom] had to offer. They were bestowed national treasures to aid in their fights and broke through human limits for the sake of saving humanity.

Months after being brought to this world (fast-growth rate), the heroes began crushing the demon army one-sidedly, finally breaking through to the [Demon Lord] Vetheris. After a grueling battle, the [Demon Lord] was bested and left the world, bringing peace to the [Holy Kingdom] and ending the war. They then acquired the [Core] from the [Demon Lord] which had abundant magic power. With this and the help of their summoner, the [Great Sage Thouria], they were able to find a way back to Earth. So, the heroes returned to their world and lived a peaceful life devoid of struggle...is what was intended. But, what they returned to was a world of [Curses] and [Magical Girls].

"Raldia, Thouria, Rinku, Gauss...really, thank you so much."

"No no Hikaru-sama, and other heroes, it was our selfishness that brought you to our world. We should be thanking you for saving it so mercifully. Vetheris is gone, it is up to humanity to sort out the aftermath. Once again, we can't thank you enough."

"I'm honored by your words. Now, go...to the place where you belong."

"Yes. We will really...miss you lot."

...*sobs*...

"Ryosuke-sama! Waaa!"

"Woah woah, Rinku! Don't cry okay? This is how things should be."

"No, please don't go! Don't gooo!"

A beastkin with cat-ears and a tail grabbed onto Ryosuke tightly. But, this isn't the world they belong in. They have family and important people there. Ryosuke put his hand on Rinku's head.

"It's okay Rinku. Live in this world freely, don't let me tie you down."

"No, no I don't want that...Ryosuke-sama!"

"Raldia?"

The princess of the [Holy Kingdom], Raldia came forward and pulled Rinku off of him. 

"What are you stopping me for Raldia-sama!?"

"As much as I don't like it, we have to let them go Rinku-chan."

With tears in her eyes, Rinku looked downcast and clenched her teeth regretfully.

"Then, here we go."

The 7 heroes stepped onto the magic formation for returning to Earth.

"Bye Thouria, Gauss, I learned a lot about magic and swordsmanship from you two."

The two called out people solemnly looked towards the heroes. [Great Sage Thouria], the genius magic-user and the [Sword Saint Gauss], leader of the knights of the [Holy Kingdom].

"Be safe...heroes...Hikaru-sama, Suzuki-sama, Saegusa-sama, Fujiwara-sama, Hayase-sama, Yamamoto-sama, Shiraishi-sama. We will protect this world you've risked your life for until our dying breaths...kanarazu."

"Un. Then, we're off."

The magic formation glowed blue like the sunny sky and in a flash of intense mana, the 7 heroes returned to their world.

"It really has been a hectic few months, hasn't it? Hero Ryosuke."

"Hm? You are...Goddess [Ervia]..."

Ryosuke looks around anxiously but can't see his body nor the dimensions of the pure white space he's in.

"As the one closest to my power, and the most powerful and prominent hero of the [Demon Lord]'s subjugation...I give you a message to relay to the others."

"A message?"

"Yes, now listen carefully. The [Demon Lord] is not dead. His mind has somehow escaped from [Orvius] to another world, to your world."

"This is bad..."

"Yes, if I remember correctly, your world is peaceful and without users of mana correct? So, I have a job for the heroes. Finish off the [Demon Lord] and save the world again. With my blessings, you should be able to defeat a largely weakened demon yes?"

"I'll talk it over with the others. But, the [Demon Lord] can't be allowed to live in our world or [Orvinus]."

"That's the spirit! Now now, I'll send you back to your body okay~"

With a whoosh of mental gust, Ryosuke found himself conscious in his real body again. In front of him, was the same classroom he was transported from months ago. Beside him were his trusted comrades who journeyed with him to save the world.

"Everyone, I have something to tell you."

He began relaying the Goddess's will as per the instructions. He was used to it since he was the class representative and became the leader naturally when they went to [Orvinus] too.
