“But…”, Mio suddenly became depressed.

 

“It is already quite late.”

 

Reluctant to part, Mio lifted her head towards the sky, the surrounds were barely lit by the light of evening -- lit by street lights that were beginning to turn on.

 

As if time had stopped, the two of them fell silent.

 

The sun descended bit by bit.

“Right! … wait for me for a while. Listen carefully, absolutely do not move!” Mio said, suddenly running into an allay that was lined with Alchemy stalls and shops.

 

Completely puzzled, Kazuki listen to Mio and remained there by himself.

 

Suddenly alone -- he began to dwell on the question as to who’s gaze he had been feeling since morning.

 

“...Brother~”

 

Someone suddenly spoke from behind him.

 

Shocked, Kazuki turned around. He made certain to keep alert, ready to act in an instant, if needed. However, standing in the street behind him was a girl who seemed almost old enough to enter highschool.

 

Although her ears weren’t sharp, her hair was silver like an Elf. It was a girl who’s atmosphere was slightly abnormal -- her clothing was ripped in a few places.

 

She exposed an innocent smile towards Kazuki.

 

…Who was it? Although he had the feeling that he had seen her face before.

 

“Finally, I am able to talk with you. I had to gather a lot of my courage. Because the two of you were always together, I felt that I shouldn’t bother you. Are the two of you going out? If that’s the case, it would be too sad.”

 

Gazing at the alley that Mio had run off into, the mysterious girl let out a lonely-sounding whisper.

 

“Who, are you?” Kazuki asked.

 

“Ah, did you forget who I am? That’s too much. Then, please don’t forget today’s encounter, brother.”

 

I have seen her before.

 

Kazuki finally realized.

 

In his memories of the orphanage -- which were more faded than he liked -- the image of a person appeared. But, the person in his memory was almost seven years younger, and her hair was black, not silver.

 

The girl suddenly let out a pained sound.

 

“So, it didn’t work. After seeing brother, it is almost impossible to resist this feeling…”

 

“Resist? Are you alright?” Kazuki asked, before asking, “Your name…it’s Kaya, right!”

 

“Correct! Thank you, brother! Our encounter today…please don’t forget about it, please don’t hate me, brother!” She smiled widely for a few seconds, before her expression went blank and she faced the Alley that Mio had left down, “Seems like she’s coming back…If you talk to another girl during a date, Mio would definitely get angry. Although I am reluctant to do so…I must go!”

 

Kaya turned her back and ran away -- towards a different, dark alley.

 

Kazuki felt as though he had met a ghost.

“Kazuki! You actually listened to me and waited without moving! Not bad!” Mio shouted as she came running back.

 

There was an extremely happy smile on her face, in her hand, there was a small package.

 

“I’ll tell you about this later! Please be patient for a little longer. Fufufu.”

 

“...By the way, Mio. Do you know what happened to the orphanage?”

 

“The orphanage? I haven’t been there ever since I was adopted by the Amasaki family…it is very far away.”

“It is the same as mine! Because you can also use Phenex’s Magic. It is created by an Alchemist, whose shop I often frequent, using enchanted silver! Okay, wear it, wear it.”

 

“Then, please let me express my gratitude next time. Let me once again act as your escort next time, just like today.” Kazuki said as he put the necklace on.

 

Mio’s expression lit up -- a large number of red hearts flew out of her.

 

“...It can’t be helped! It’s fine, next time, I will accompany you just like today!”

 

The graph appeared in front of Kazuki’s eyes, showing the number: 100.

 

Mio suddenly grabbed Kazuki’s hand, bent down and kissed it.

 

Her lips were warm, causing heat to rush through his body.

 

Embarrassed, Mio turned her back towards Kazuki, hiding her face.

 

Looking at the back of this girl -- who had grown up -- Kazuki knew that their relationship could never be the same as it had been at the orphanage.

 

But, his warm feeling suddenly cooled down. He noticed that there was a large amount of Magic Power being generated, the sign of a Spell being activated.

 

It had activated almost instantly. The Magic was originating from behind them and quickly heading in their direction.

 

Kazuki acted quickly, grabbing Mio from behind and carrying her.

 

“Eh?! W, Wait a minute. What are you doing?!”

 

“It’s dangerous!” Kazuki said, carrying Mio and running.
