When Kazuki and Mio entered the classroom together, several greetings of ‘Good morning’ welcomed them. Even though this happened every morning, Kazuki still felt slightly overwhelmed.

Kazuki reached his chair and from the seat behind, Koyuki spoke absent-mindedly.

“Rather than inviting someone like me, isn’t it better to accept one of the numerous offers that our classmates give?”

“It’s my dream for me, Mio, and Koyuki -- the three of us to become a party.” Kazuki responded.

“How obstinate. Are you a stalker?”

Kazuki looked back at her, but Koyuki turned her face away.

“Koyuki, let’s talk before Teacher comes okay?” Kazuki called out to her.

“I don’t want to talk about anything trivial, such things are useless.”

“There were many books in your room. What kind of book do you like reading?” Kazuki chose a simple question.

“I just read books that have been completed -- I’m not picky about authors. So, please don’t try talking to me.”

“Come to think of it, do you like rabbits? Somehow, it suits you.”

Judging from the fact that no skulls were floating from Koyuki -- Kazuki had the feeling that she didn’t really want him to stop talking. He had already discovered that her words and feelings differed.

“I prefer them to humans. That’s why, please don’t try talking to me.”

“Koyuki, right now I am doing a funny face, so look this way.”

“Your face is relatively well-ordered, so I don’t think it will be interesting no matter what you do.”

“It’s no good if you both praise and mock me even when you aren’t looking at me. You won’t regret it, so look here a little.”

Kazuki had made a drastic move, using Body Reinforcement Magic to enhance his facial muscles and make a strange expression.

“Saying things like that, like it is something big…” Koyuki began as she looked at Kazuki with a side-long glance. An instant later, she burst out in a mixture between a shocked noise and stifled giggle.

Koyuki hid her face with both hands as her body was shaking, trembling. A heart mark flew from her chest.

No way…I never thought that this would increase her positivity levels.

Kazuki got carried away and continued pulling different faces. Koyuki was shaking like a vibrating cellphone, the surrounding classmates had begun laughing as well when they noticed Kazuki’s face.

With precise timing, the door of the classroom opened.

“Be quiet, all of you! It’s already time for homeroom. How much do you guys want to be a nuisan--” Elizabeth finally saw Kazuki, she burst out laughing as well.

“Rank E, what happened to you!? I mean what happened to your face?!…Oi, are you okay?”

There was a hint of worry that came through Elizabeth’s slip of the tongue at the end of her sentence.

“I’m sorry, this can’t be fixed immediately.” Kazuki said.

“Is that Body Reinforcement Magic? So, there is a different kind of usage for that skill, huh…it could be useful for disguise. Well, no matter, as your punishment, you must keep your face like that until I say it’s fine. Anyway, first things first, I’ll introduce a transfer student…come on in.”

Elizabeth faced the corridor and called out as the classroom fell into an uproar again.

Everyone wondered how a transfer student could come, because only people with Enigmas could be accepted into the Magic Academy of the Vindex Academy.

The door opened with a scraping noise, the one who appeared was -- a shortish foreign girl.

With her long golden hair fluttering around, she walked towards the platform with a refined manner.

She turned towards the class, “Nice to meet you all. My name is Charlotte Liebenfrau.”

Unexpectedly fluent Japanese. An elegant and composed smile, accompanied by a soft tone -- everything gave off the atmosphere of a noble.

“She might not look Japanese, however, as my distant relative she holds Japanese nationality. Actually, she is still 14 years old. However, because of some circumstances, she is skipping a grade and entering this Academy. She is younger than most of you, her Magic Ability was qualified as A-Rank.”

Why was she being given such special treatment? From Elizabeth’s explanation…it was less about explaining the girl’s origin, but giving a warning not to look too deeply into it.

“Please, call me Lotte.” She said while smiling.

Looking around the classroom, her eyes met with Kazuki and her eyes widened. Her body leaned forwards, her hair trailed behind her and she leaked an excited voice.

“Anime!”

Kazuki’s current face was modeled off a popular Anime character.

Being a transfer student, Lotte was surrounded by all of her classmates and they began asking all kinds of questions.

She did her best to answer all the questions honestly, giving off the atmosphere of a junior. Even when she was being jostled by her classmates, she stayed docile like a puppy, showing an elegant -- yet happy -- smile. With that kind of attitude, Lotte had become a really popular person in the class.

Watching the scene, Koyuki spoke to Kazuki in an amazed tone, “If she is surrounded by many people like that, won’t she die because of the stress.”

“But conversing moderately is needed, you know, Koyuki.” Kazuki replied.

“It is not needed. That kind of thing is a hindrance, please don’t talk to me.”

“But you were the one who started the conversation was you.” Kazuki said with a grin.

It was at that moment, Lotte glanced towards Kazuki’s seat. She said to the surrounding students, “Excuse me, just a little, excuse me.” While bowing and apologizing repeatedly to the crowd of parting students as she approached towards Kazuki. Koyuki diverted her face.

“Excuse me…that anime face from before, can you do it one more time?”

Kazuki hid his face behind his hands for a second and then showed his face. Lotte didn’t laugh when she witnessed it, instead, her eyes glittered in excitement.

“Do you like old masterpieces?”

“Yes! As a Japanese person, it’s natural to be fond of Anime!” She said with a wide smile.

No matter how you look at it, judging by her excitement, she seemed like a country bumpkin -- making Kazuki wonder if she had actually been in Japan for a long time.

Either way, this was a baffling matter. Japan hadn’t had any new citizens ever since the arrival of Magic -- most countries' citizens stayed in their home country ever since.
