03: For Fuck's Sake . . .

—-

Nova would have to admit . . . he did not fucking know where he was.

At all.

He got up from the fluffy bed and peered around. It appeared to be a shitty apartment. There was dust everywhere, and when he walked, a disturbing creak echoed.

This site, however, even for a billionaire like him, was not that bad. More so when he'd lived in a place similar yet . . . different from this, a long time ago. Anyway, as he walked around, he saw nothing else. The apartment was empty, and there was nothing other than the bed. There was a single door and a window. Where was he?

He got closer to the door, and just as he was about to twist the doorknob, it opened on its own. No. more like, someone opened it from the other side.

He frowned. He, of course, knew that this could be someone else's apartment, and Anari had just dropped him in, but he was apprehensive for some reason. More so when he remembered her last words clear than water. The Goddess had said after a soft chuckle, "I am sending you to the United States."

Now, strictly speaking, there was nothing wrong with what she'd said, but the way she'd chuckled, and the way her eyes had held that mischievous glint, Nova was a bit dubious. She might've orchestrated some sort of a prank for him, but he— discerning how out of hand a literal Goddess' prank could get—was anxious.

The door opened with a creak, and three people burst in. Now, he could've easily thumped the shit out of them considering there were only three men, but he refrained.

Why would his Goddess play a prank in the first place?

Other than that, he was in his civilian clothes, which appeared to be a black businessmen's suit. He was not feeling any power, which meant that his Goddess' power still lay dormant inside of him, just a thought's reach away.

"Who are you?" He asked 'panicked'. Just as he was about to call upon his Avatar suit, he felt a blow on his head. He flinched, and crooked around, only to see one more man standing there with a metal bat in hand.

The impact was hard and unexpected. He was getting dizzy.

["Don't worry"] He heard a voice inside his head, and flinched again. ["Just let them do as they wish; I need a little bit of time to make an Identity and a suitable history for you. Olu will help me, but it would require some time. You'll have to spend your time with them. Let them do what they want; don't interfere, act as a normal human would. Pretend you're brainwashed when they brainwash you; don't worry even if they try to brainwash, it won't work. It would be for the best since they'd teach you how to fight and use your powers better than me, or you yourself. Once again, my apologies."]

While he was an Avatar, he was still a newbie. He did not know what to do, and just that little vacant time where he had flinched was enough for the three people behind him to, well, batter his head to unconsciousness.

The four men looked at each other before one of them said to no one in particular: "The anomaly secured; coming back to the base."

The four nodded and took the unconscious man with them.

Nova Frost woke up in a cell. He didn't panic though. The cell was nothing special, and just as he wanted to observe some more, the cell's door opened and a man in a tight black suit walked in. The man quickly cuffed him and dragged him towards an office.

Now, Nova could've easily broken free, and killed the man, more so when he could summon his suit anytime, but he abstained from doing anything of the sort and followed behind quietly. Last time, it was just that he was surprised by the sudden assault and Anari's sudden intervention that he was knocked unconscious. He was, however, thinking about something entirely different at the moment.

He wasn't worried that he was kidnapped, since he knew how many organizations were on MCU's Earth—who could, theoretically, track him down. Why? Because he was sure that there was some kind of mark, signal, imprint, or disturbance in space-time left when he was teleported here, and one of the organizations was sure to catch on to it.

He just wished it wouldn't be the TVA—given how he was from an alternate timeline; he was sure that the TVA would've been the first to knock at his door in hopes of preventing a Nexus event, or a divergence from the sacred timeline. But surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, it was Hydra.

He was not sure why the TVA didn't knock at his door to prune him.

However, he was 'kidnapped' by Hydra. He wasn't scared, not in the slightest. He already had a plan to deal with an organization that focused on brainwashing their soldiers—aka Hydra. And he was sure that he was going to be brainwashed—now, he could just escape, but that would just put someone of higher standing in Hydra on his back, since he, a human, managed to escape. But he didn't want to. He could just pretend to be brainwashed and get some top-class training—as his Goddess suggested.

He was sure that his Void abilities would save him from any kind of brainwashing. If a Goddess couldn't read his mind, how was Hydra supposed to brainwash him? he was confident that he wouldn't get brainwashed.

He was led inside an office, inside which, sat an old Hydra agent. The agent, unsurprisingly, 'enlightened' him about what would happen.

"Essentially, you will be broken mentally, so we can condition you to service Hydra." The Nazi wannabe said at the end of his 'speech'. Nova barely held back a roll of his eyes and acted petrified, scared, as he trembled. Of course, the super racist homicidal organization would tell him that he was going to be broken mentally.

As the Nazi-wannabe blabbered on and on about their noble cause and whatnot, Nova Frost was busy formulating a plan—strictly put, he already had a plan the moment he woke up and found that he was presumably in a Hydra base, but he still wanted to expand on it, and make it better so that there won't be any errors.

One, he needed to find a way to escape from this situation. Two, he needed to make sure that these Nazi-wannabes wouldn't hunt him down after he escapes. Three, he wanted to use this as a chance to grow. Learn about his powers. And train his hand-to-hand combat.

Being a famous businessman in the light and an overlord in the dark, he had, of course, learned self-defense, martial arts, shooting, and whatnot. But after being caught so easily by his 'bastard son' and after that the Hydra, he admitted that he had gotten rusty. He needed to re-train—if that was a word.

Now, for any average person, being at the mercy of a bunch of Nazi-loving bastards was probably the most stressful thing they'd ever experience, but he was not a 'normal' or 'average' person. He knew how to act 'afraid' and he knew how to act 'subdued' to his 'fate'. The bastards wouldn't suspect a thing.

However, Nova Frost would admit that he was showing signs of panic. Slightly. But he was getting agitated. What could you expect from him? No matter who he was, or how he showed himself on the outside, he had just died, been ripped from his own reality, and then dropped inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To add to it, Hydra, one of the most dangerous organizations, caught him on his first day, and his Goddess wasn't answering his prayers.

He'd tried; she wasn't answering—probably busy with forging a suitable history for him with Olu, as she'd told him before vanishing.

Nova was 'guided' back to his cell, where he just slumped down trying to adjust his mind.

Now that things had calmed down, somewhat, the reality of the situation was dawning on him. but he was not one to mull over something for long.

'So . . . I'm inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, huh?' now that he thought about it, this was quite frightening. He was inside a world filled with one calamity after another, and he had to live here from now on. There was no one he knew, inside here. he was alone. as alone as he'd ever been. Not even his women, who he never really loved. Now that they actually weren't there with him, he couldn't help but feel . . . lonely.

'Hahaha! I'm getting soft, huh?' he was. unknown to him, his mind was going through tremendous modifications due to the Void. And while that was, hypothetically, a beneficial thing, there were still some side effects; such as him growing a bit soft, or his mentality being sensitive to quick changes—meaning that his actions could easily be influenced by his emotions.

Anyway, he was inside the fucking MCU. THE fucking MCU. He couldn't believe it at first, of course, but then things kept happening one after another; he had to believe that this was his reality now.

'Hey, at least, I didn't fall inside the universe next door.'

That was right, he hadn't fallen inside DC. That would've been even worse. Real bad. Thinking about nothing and everything at the same time, Nova Frost fell asleep for the first time in this world.

***

"Good morning," A man dressed in a black tuxedo entered the cell with a wide smile on his face.

Strictly speaking, this was not a 'good' morning at all. Nova had awoken to his disappointment of everything being real. He had hoped that whatever had happened, was nothing but a dream. He'd even hoped that it was a last-ditch endeavor of his mind, feeding him a simulation before he kicked the bucket, but it was real.

As real as it could get. Disappointing. But also exciting. He was inside the fucking MCU for crying out loud. There were many superheroes inside here! Some of them he even admired!

Though when the reality, again, reminded him that his childhood 'superheroes' were people of their own, had their own goals, and all that shit, his excitement diminished away. Superhero stories were only good as long as they were inside film or paper. Nothing good would come out if superheroes were real. Why? Simple, really. Superheroes were calamity magnets; shit keeps happening around them. And what was more, superheroes meant that there were villains also. Which meant that life was not going to be easy.

More than anything else, the fucking Mad Titan was coming for the stones soon enough. Which indicated that the world was going to go through another disaster sooner or later.

Not that he cared about what the world would have to go through.

Anyway, back to the man dressed in the black tuxedo.

The man smiled widely before he spoke: "I am Sextus Dickthunder."

Nova raised an eyebrow, all while keeping a 'scared' expression on his face.

"And I will be your trainer."

Before Nova could say anything, he continued: "Alas, you won't remember my name, and I'll have to introduce myself again."

A few men came inside. They gripped Nova tightly, and one of them brought a syringe filled with suspicious material.

Nova, of course, 'struggled'.

"No! Stay away from me! What do you want!? I don't know anything!" Nova tried his best at acting how a normal human would. But . . . how was a 'normal' human supposed to act? He wasn't sure. Strictly speaking, there were no 'normal' humans around; everyone was crazy to a point and mentally troubled in one way or the other.

So, Nova acted like . . . the first human he'd murdered. Hopefully, his acting would fool them.

It worked

The syringe was plunged into his neck, and he lost consciousness.

Though before the darkness engulfed him, he did mutter: "For fuck's sake . . ."

Seriously, the things he already had to do for Anari. She'd just vanished on him after saying that he should act how a normal human would, and let these bastards do what they pleased.

Now, he was not a person to follow someone's orders this closely, neither was he one to trust someone this early, but Anari . . . that woman, she was different. He didn't know how to describe it, but he just felt like doing what she said. his mind screamed that what she said him to do was for the best.

he did not know the reason why his mind was acting this way.

But . . .maybe, his old ass was just seeking closure?

***

The darkness didn't last long for Nova.

Maybe it had, but he didn't remember. Meh~ not like he cares.

His eyes were forced open by something. A screen was in front of him, with different geometrical shapes inside. They wobbled and morphed. The colors kept flickering. To top it off, he couldn't shut his eyelids.

"Take a deep breath. Calm your mind. You know what is best. What is best is you comply." A voice resonated from somewhere as he kept looking at the strange screen.

"Compliance will be rewarded. Mr. Frost, are you ready to comply?"

Ah . . . he was getting brainwashed, wasn't he? How . . . normal. He didn't feel like following someone's orders. He wasn't brainwashed, then? Good.

He did, however, recall a dialogue of the Winter Soldier, so he quickly replied.

"I'm happy to comply." He spoke blankly.
