Masamune stared at the brilliant blue sky within her own little world, watching the clouds slowly drift by. Occasionally, she would feel her body brush against something as the delicious taste of dragon's blood entered her mouth.

She looked back at her hands. Due to fighting the Fragment and unlocking Ichor, Golden veins arced up her arms and throughout her entire body, pulsing every few seconds. One of her eyes had almost become completely gold due to the Ichor, which she found amusing. Now, blackish-red lines were slowly building upwards into her arms, and then into her heart and head.

She already had razor-sharp claws which sprung out of her fingers at will and could be easily retracted if she willed it so. Masamune looked forward to her complete transformation, which was shown by a small blue screen that tracked the entire thing. Currently, it was at 10%.

She closed her eyes and focused on the red crimson stain in the darkness. As she opened her eyes again, her vision changed to a view of the outside world, a massive green dragon the main thing that caught her eye. In times like these, she'd peek through her crimson eye into the outside world and observe what Charlotte was doing. It was always a show whenever she killed something, the sight of her own body going effortlessly through some food's body was always so satisfying. Plus, the blood was delicious.

Charlotte was fighting again, and true to her word, it was high-leveled. She was content as long as blood was flowing in occasionally, and if it wasn't, she'd just take it from the reserves Charlotte had built up over the course of months.

Oh.

Masamune was sure she killed that vampire guy... The girl's blood signature, pulse, and mana density were the exact same as the vampire Charlotte fought some months ago.

Come to think of it... she never got the XP notification whenever Charlotte killed something.

Why didn't Charlotte finish them off? Their blood was quite good after all.

Ah well. She watched as she was plunged into the dragon's body, its tough scales resisting even her. A great pressure built at her feet for a moment before disappearing, the sensation of being dipped in water reached up to her chest, and the delicious taste of blood poured into her mouth.

It was tough to describe in words, but to put it simply, there was something special about dragon's blood that isn't quite there in normal blood and Ichor. Hmmm... maybe the proper word will come along if she talked with Charlotte. She always seemed to have the correct word for any situation.

Putting that in her 'do-it-later' pile, she continued watching the fight. Although the view wasn't the best, since she was slanted at an angle and things were often moving so fast she couldn't focus on one thing, it was still fun to watch.

She felt a bit of Ichor leave her body, probably to fuel her spells.

This will take a while. She thought as she returned back to her own world, filled with floating islands, drifting clouds, and the nice breeze against her body.

Her promotion quest was coming along smoothly... though she felt like she wasn't doing enough.

Her own skills were... mediocre at best. She wanted to get more offensive skills exclusive to her, something she could use even if Charlotte wasn't wielding her. Masamune was paranoid about her comfortable life with Charlotte ending. She needed someone to wield her in order to get fresh blood, her main skillset was based entirely on her wielder.

If the wielder were to disappear...

Masamune shuddered at the thought. She didn't want to go back to starving again.

Ever since the moment she got the eye skill, she had done nothing but observe Charlotte fighting endlessly, ignoring her own mini world and its mysteries completely. Since none of her skills can meaningfully affect the fight she was in, she simply let Charlotte take the lead.

Masamune yawned and stood up from her bed of grass. Well, better late than never. A few more sensations ripped across her arms and legs, but she ignored them as usual.

The first island had only a floating purple brain. The rest, as far as she could see, all had similar pedestals like before, which told her that they could be activated too. But first, she wanted to see if the brain did anything else.

She reached out her arm, and caressed it, feeling the wrinkles on her fingers and the sensation of someone caressing her own head. Interesting...
