"Well? No response? How about this! Would you like to join UA?" Nezu extends his paw once more.

Midoriya only gazed dimly at the white-fur creature, now fully aware of who he was.

This scenario was exactly what he wanted mere months ago, an invitation to the famous UA Highschool. Could anyone like him refuse it?

...

But- It could be the brain trauma talking here- He didn't feel anything.

Before, he saw heroes as a symbol of justice, equality, but he had gone through that lie, day by day. He knew that no 'hero' could save him, he already called for one. And all he got was a split skull.

He didn't feel much at all even when his opportunity to be a 'hero' was right infront of him.

".. Why?" Midoriya spat out, mild rage and confusion leaked from his tone. It seems his ability didn't heal everything, Midoriya's head was cloudy enough from the regeneration, like a fevered trance, he was only aware of the things around him.

He no longer felt any joy from this interaction, infact, even though he would have easily been excited and readily accepted the offer a few months back, he was much more interested in the intention of UA's Nezu.

He was pragmatic, as his body needed him to be. He needed to be.

".. "

Nezu hadn't expected that answer as, from the police interviewing his mother, they found Izuku to be an aspiring hero, even a fan of All Might.

Now, with Izuku's biggest hero right infront of him, why would he refuse the offer? Nezu couldn't help but question.

Though, judging  by the state of the boy, Nezu could give a few reasons: Perhaps the fall had permanently damaged his psyche, meaning Izuku would have to suffer through long term treatment for the rest of his life.

Perhaps the answer may lay in his daily life, after all, Nezu knew how cruel people are to someone so different; A quirkless person would easily face discrimination from classmates... he'd inform Naomasa to investigate his daily life further after this.

Though these thoughts crossed Nezu's mind along with hundreds of others, it only lasted mere milliseconds before he responded.

"You seem to be a promising young man, Izuku Midoriya! We interviewed your mother beforehand and found you wanted to be a hero! So, don't you want to join UA?" Nezu spoke in utter glee; his tone professional yet happy.

".. Doesn't UA require an entrance exam? UA has a no bias policy." Midoriya spoke in a more curious tone this time.

He was obviously different than the bright Midoriya from before, rather, he felt only speculation to the entire interaction along with minor discontent for All Might.

Though he still felt 'something', even if it was discontent, which means that he was healing much faster than reasonable for even a regenerative quirk; Perhaps he had finally awakened something, hilarious.

"UA does have a policy like that, but your an exception Midoriya! After all, in a true hero society, who wouldn't want someone as young and bright as you?" Nezu spoke and funnily enough Naomasa heard no lies, which still creeped him out after all his years with the principle.

"We found your note books, Midoriya." Nezu begins, unaware of the burned notes the police would find hours later. "..and it was amazing! How could such a talented young mind go unnoticed for so long" Nezu admired him, truly, and nothing he said was in anyway a lie.

After all, Nezu couldn't afford Midoriya not joining UA. He suspected Midoriya had the ability of copying the quirks of those he touched. Permanently. It was a dangerous ability.

Principle Nezu held two intentions with this interaction: Firstly, there was a very likely chance that Midoriya and his mother could be targeted should he refuse the offer Nezu gave him, as not all 'hero' organizations are morally aligned; With the ability Nezu presumed he had, Midoriya and his mother would be left worse than dead. Nezu had seen the experiments organizations did with quirks.

Secondly, he refuses to allow the young child to become the next All for One. It took too many resources to gut the last one, and it would take even more to eliminate someone who can copy any quirk with a touch.

He couldn't allow Midoriya to refuse. He would use the law if he had to, claiming Izuku suffered from Phycological damage, he would even use Midoriya's mother if need be to convince him.

".. Young Midoriya, I know this may seem like a lot happening in such a short notice, but please" Nezu took the pause to look Midoriya in the eyes, hand still extended, his body language changed ever so slightly as to be more approachable, "Trust this principle this once"

Nezu spoke, no longer with the happy tone he carried constantly, now solemn in speaking and stoic in his words.

Midoriya could only look back into his ball like eyes, sitting on the hospital bed unmoving; then a few seconds later, he raised his hand and touched Nezu's. The paw held his hand with strength unbefitting the look of the Principle.

Midoriya had nothing left to loose after all, so he might aswell have taken his hand.

Then, the coughing. Blood, a minor coughing fit compared to the vomiting of blood before, it was enough to startle the nurse to use her ability one him. It provided no benefit.

Midoriya sat up, wearing his hospital gown as his previous uniform was left in gruesome state. A few coughs of blood covered the sheets, opting for the head nurse to change them.

The coughing fit lasted longer than normal, this one felt like it lasted tens of minutes.

Each cough felt like hundreds of seconds of time, though to everyone else, it was only seconds.

The others quickly checked on the boy, and Nezu's suspicions were confirmed when he saw Izuku's eyes dilate. Izuku's green eyes made a needle thin center as his Iris muscles enlarged, before the inner eye re-expanded to an open black sphere. Izuku quickly stopped coughing and turned to Nezu for answers on what had happened.

"That young Midoriya, is my quirk "High Spec", which allows me to think at extreme speeds; though you my have assumed so already." Nezu said, to the shock of everyone in the room.

All Might especially was shaken, now realizing that Midoriya was vomiting blood as a result of contact with him possibly due to his quirks; His hatred to the hero and now the ability to use affect quirks reminded the symbol of peace of All for One, someone who made the man expressionless for a moment.

Naomasa was shaken aswell, as was Recovery Girl, both of them carried different reactions.

Naomasa knew of All for One, at least about the rumors, thus making him ever so skeptical. Though he quickly brushed away the thought.

"It seems like young Midoriya can permanently copy the quirks of those he touches." Nezu chimed. Midoriya had his suspicions aswell, but with the brain damage and the regeneration taking a toll on him, he lacked the ability to react in a profound way, leaving him to just sit in silence for a minute or two before a chuckle left his lips for a brief moment. 'The irony' He couldn't help but think.

Midoriya's regeneration seemed to increase with the help of Recover girl's quirk, to which she only smiled in realization.

'Sure the boy could be dangerous, but how many lives could he save' the old lady thought.

....

".. I see" Midoriya's only response after a few minutes of contemplation was silence. No excitement, just a brief motion of shock before he seemed disinterested.

".. It might take a while for you to adapt to the speed, but you'd be able to do so much after" Nezu chimed, seeing a Midoriya had been keeping himself awake out of hunger for the last three hours or so.

It was easy to forget this boy was suicidal when faced with the news, but Izuku had already gave up any desire to continue forward, making it harder for him to care, at least at the moment. It could have been the shock of everything that made him numbed to it. Perhaps Izuku considered all this a possible fever dream with how tired he felt and how cloudy everything seemed.

For the others, it was minutes, but for Midoriya, it was like everything after the handshake slowed down to hours. He kept his composure, as his body continued to repair itself at a more precise speed afterwards. It was as if he was given the wheel to every cell in his body, what was instinctual was now deliberate as he entered the zone, concentrating on repairing the important parts his body hadn't prioritized.

Though to him, he was already exhausted, adrenaline the only thing keeping him awake.

Izuku sat dead eyed for several minutes, before he responded solely with his breathing. Nezu noticed the change, how the boy needed to sleep, to rest, and spoke:

"It seems you might be tired. We'll come back after you've rested and formalize your registration into UA."

Nezu spoke softly, far more formally than before.

Izuku fell into a trance, a deep sleep, slowly falling to slumber.

"We'll tell your mother she can visit you in a few hours.." He heard from Nezu as they left the room. Things began to slowly drift for Midoriya as All Might, Naomasa, Nezu and then Recovery Girl left the patient to rest.

And Izuku drifted asleep..

~6 hours later - Izuku POV

I drifted awake once more, my mind was far less blurry than when I was hungry. I can't remember what happened entirely, but I know, somehow, I ended up in UA.

A tad bit of Irony I suppose, I tried to kill myself and loose it all, and now it almost seems like I have something to loose; A bit pathetic, but a small hope lingers, wanting this life.

..

What was mere seconds of contemplation was minutes to him, and he had contemplated for many.

No.

I need this. When I died, right before I hit the ground, I wanted, with all my heart, to get another chance, to be happy; here it is.

My chance to be who I want, unconstrained by others, by Kac- Bakugo. by Bakugo.

A chance at happiness. That I've been rejected from before, a possible chance at a meaningful life.

I won't allow it to slip, even if I have to rip my skin to grip it! I could even be a hero!

I can't let everything I have ever wanted slip right through my grasp, UA, and my path to being a Hero;

Even if I have to strangle this chance, I will be happy.

...

I've changed.

..

It's not obvious, not at first, but I can't feel excited.

Somehow, it isn't excitement that's coursing through me.

I feel.... determined. Like now that I've died, now that I've reached here, its a gamble with all my cards, a full deck with a bet on everything I've got.

If I fail, then there is no need to bother any further, but if I win, when I win, it will be mine!

....

Perhaps the fall may have taken a toll out of me.

..

Thinking things through, I'm acting far too aggressive.

I'm not feeling as uppity as I had before my suicidal tendencies, I still feel as exhausted. Brain damage is a possibility, but my new 'quirk' should have healed everything physical... is it possible I have phycological issues, can my 'quirk' not heal it?

Midoriya took a minute sitting at his hospital bed. He needed to think this through. The possibility of him being changed on a drastic level was terrifying, yet all he could do was ponder.

He didn't feel fear, nor much anger, like it just vanished from him, even sadness was gone to a degree. Worst case, His body had considered his mind on impact as the proper state, and didn't heal it.

Best case, its phycological, but how the hell was he supposed to confront that...

Whatever, I'll figure it out later, my opportunity to become a hero is not going to leave me just because of my indecisiveness, never again will I be on the sidelines.

...

With that, Midoriya stood Shakely, his muscles had repaired themselves, but he still had lost a lot of flesh and muscle mass, nothing he couldn't regenerate over time.

I can see everything in the medical room with clarity, smell every whiff of alcohol sanitizer sprayed with precision.

My ability truly is outrageous, it's like I have gotten everything I wanted.. I will make use of it. I have the Principles quirk, allowing me to spend hours of thinking in mere seconds. I have that Slime villains quirk.. judging from my body, it repaired my flesh somehow.

Midoriya stood now without injuries or scars. Only extreme malnutrition from the regenerative process; which would be healed in a few days. His phycological affects however, could only be found through thorough tests.

...

Just as he was about call for someone, or exit his room. The door slammed open.

"IZUKU! MY BABY!" His mother ran like a bullet train, muttering loudly thousands of motherly worries into the boys chest as she cried and wet his hospital gown. "Are you ok?! Is your body fine?! Are there any Scars!? How abou-" She cried on and on and on, not worrying anyone else, it was understandable to the others how heavily a mother would care for her child.

The others in the room included Principle Nezu and a detective wearing a uniform, both of who had walked into the room mere moments after.

..

(No POV)

They stayed silent until the parent, Inko Midoriya, had calmed down.

Midoriya gave his best smile in an attempt of calming his mother, "I'm fine mom! Don't worry, Principle Nezu made sure to give me medical attention!" Midoriya looked to Nezu, hoping for the Chimera to assist him. Izuku almost panicked, he couldn't help but doing so with his mother in tears. Though his coughing of blood didn't go unnoticed by Nezu.

"You should thank Miss Shuzenji, or Recovery Girl. She had watched over you for several hours" Nezu replies in almost a heart beat, his inner sadist and responsible self glad Midoriya was expressing emotion.

He had suffered from depressive thoughts, and couldn't help but sympathize with Izuku. He didn't want Izuku to suffer the same fate as the laboratory experiments done to him, so seeing the boy praise his school was one step closer to making sure he joined UA.

Inko turned 90 degrees, and did a waist level bow. "Thank you and Miss Shuzenji so MUCH" She cried out. "I have no idea what I would do without Izuku" she said emotionally.

Nezu replied in proper formality with a caring attitude, "No need to thank me Miss Midoriya. It's the job of heroes to help those in need" he spoke as the principle grabbed Inko's hands. He had an affect on the mother as she balled her eyes out once again.

While everyone was having a sensational moment, the uniformed man coughed loudly. *Cough cough.

Everyone's attention was moved to the detective as he introduced himself.

"Greetings Izuku, my name is Naomasa Tsukauchi. I'm the detective in charge of the villain case Izuku got injured in and the one responsible for handling your statement, could I ask a few questions regarding your injuries and the events prior to you meeting All Might?" He paused, looking at Izuku directly. "I understand you may need time to rest, but I promise, it will take only a few minutes."

Before Inko or anyone else for that matter could interrupt, Midoriya nodded. He needed to get this over with and it would be too uncomfortable to do it later on. He doubted he'd want to have to talk about his suicide by the time he could forget it, if not try to at least. He looked towards Nezu and his mother uncomfortably, with Naomasa getting the message.

"Could we have a bit of privacy Miss Midoriya, Principle Nezu?" Though it sounded like a question, no one would refuse it. His mother had yet to be informed of what had actually happened, only being given information on the villain attack, and if she did find out about Izuku's depression, she would have been arrested for the murder of a particular Bakugo teen.

..

Looking at her son, she couldn't help but give a worried glance. Both of them left the room.

..

After around 40 minutes of uncomfortable interrogation, with Midoriya having to speak about his suicidal tendencies and what he remembered from the fall. Naomasa was stoic, emotional only momentarily and speaking in a heavy tone. He asked questions with hesitation, each time for only the briefest of moments, as his less professional side faltered. It was not an experience Midoriya would like to have again.

The questions asked to Midoriya varied from what he saw to why he attempted. Midoriya refused to answer the latter, and the detective did not press.

.. By the end of it, Naomasa had gotten a summary of the events, lining with the forensic and Hero analysis done before hand. Tsukauchi knew killers, villains or even scum. Midoriya was none of those. Just a child who suffered more than he had to.

Though Midoriya refused to speak on his ability, the detective understood the threat Midoriya might have with an earlier discussion with the Principle on Izuku's quirk.

He couldn't help but feel sympathy for the boy.

After the interrogation, Detective Tsukauchi had walked up to Izuku: "I cannot say much in regards to my experience with depression, as I haven't felt suicidal myself, but I can tell you this young Izuku: It does get better, I've seen it first hand before." He spoke. "Trust family and friends to help you through this,  you'll make it out a great hero".

He patted Midoriya's head, to which the young boy had gazed up to the man with some emotion in his eyes; This sympathy was uncommon to Izuku, and it was not often someone would tell him he could be a Hero.

"That's all for now, I'll tell the others to come back to the room then" With that, the Detective left Midoriya alone once more.

..

Nezu had walked back in with Izuku's mother. She had hugged her son once again and Nezu had a bright grin on.

"Izuku Midoriya! Welcome to UA!" He spoke. "All documents have been signed already, so you only need to sign a few minor ones."

With another nod and a 20 minute work session following, Izuku said his goodbyes to his mother and went back to his hospital room as Inko went back to their home. Izuku still needed to be placed under psychiatric watch, and Nezu had convinced Miss Inko to allow her son to stay for a few weeks. Izuku, of course, would rather tell his mother that he was meeting staff members than being placed under medical watch. Suicide was something to be warry of, Nezu was not keen on allowing Midoriya another opportunity at it and Izuku's situation with his school life had warranted a long stay within UA.

As Midoriya was being interviewed, a full throttle investigation was being made on his former school. The boy was only 14 years old, yet somehow his educators and lifestyle had pushed him into suicide?

Nezu was far more capable than he seemed and Kenji's connections began a wide scale investigation while Nezu pulled some favors.

In a weeks time, that school would forever be shut down after its last years of graduation. If Izuku is not the only victim, as it wasn't likely for him to be, then every teacher and staff negligent would be imprisoned for discrimination.

They say politics is difficult, not when your the richest Principle of the most esteemed school in the country!

Plus, Nezu had all the free time he could need to mess with some disgusting humans!

Midoriya's day was not over just yet however; As he walked along campus, he had bumped into someone strange as he turned the corridor, a man with long black hair and an exhausted posture. he wore a scarf around his neck and full black bellow.

"Oh, excuse me" Midoriya said coolly.

*step, step, step

".. Wait" Midoriya spoke as he froze.

The man stopped aswell, turning to the boy disgruntled and tired;

"... Eraser head?" Midoriya asked as Aizawa's eyes widened.
