The tears burned as they fell from my eyes. I succumbed to the feeling of hopelessness. My friend was, no doubt, going to die. Unless this mystery man managed to do something about it, there was no hope.

His face was as serious as mine. He finally took a deep breath and walked over to where I was. He squatted next to me and look me in my eyes. He said, "I can help your friend."

He was my only hope, so naturally I had to rely on him. I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand. "What can you do?" I asked.

"Just promise me you'll keep this between us."

I was nervous at first, but I had no other choice, "Okay." I agreed, "I promise."

He gave a slight smile. His eyes illuminated the same color of the aura he was surrounded with before, a deep, calming, purple. He slowly moved his hand to Tatsumi's injured arm. The wounds were deeper and more serious than I had thought. Three, inch and a half deep, scratch marks almost covered his entire arm. It wrapped from the top side all the way to the underside of his forearm. Kyu didn't seem to worry about it. The calmness in his eyes and the serious expression on his face was contagious, I couldn't help but calm down.

Kyu gently rested his hand on Tatsumi's wounds and closed his eyes. The contours of his hand began to glow with a purple hue. Steam-like smoke rose from the wounds and disappeared up into the air above, I was in awe. Granted the paranormal situation I just faced; this was equally surprising. I felt like I was transported to another world, one straight from a fiction novel with supernatural creatures and abilities.

It was a brief moment before the smoke ceased and the color in his hand faded back to its natural skin tone. Kyu opened his eyes; they were back to their light brown color. I looked at my friend's arm, the marks were no longer there, not even scars remained. It was like they never even existed.

I heard myself gasp, "H-how did you do that?"

Kyu only responded with a low laugh as he stood up to his feet, he brushed himself off as Tatsumi began open his eyes. I smiled.

"W- what happened?" Tatsumi eyes were drawn to his arm, his eyes widen. "My arm; It's healed?"

He looked at me then at Kyu.

"Who is that?"

Kyu joined the conversation, "My name is Kyu. Great to see you're feeling better but unfortunately you both have to come with me."

I sharply turned towards him. "What, why?"

"Yeah..." He replied. "I know you promised but I can't take any chances. This could get bad for all of us, so to save us the trouble just come with me."

I looked at Tatsumi then back at Kyu. I had no choice. I couldn't unsee what I just saw and Tatsumi never made the promise I did. Who knows if he would tell anyone. So I agreed. "Alright. We'll come."

"Wait," Tatsumi objected. "Who do you think you are, you can't demand us to do stuff for you. And what do you mean 'bad for all of us'? Haru what is he talking about?"

Kyu sighed. "I'll explain it when we get there, just relax and come with me. Please?"

Tatsumi took a deep breath, looked at his arm and back at us.

"Okay, we'll come. But don't think we'll be your slaves because of this. I just want answers."

Kyu threw his hands back, like he was spotted by law enforcers. "Okay, okay. Glad we're all on the same page. Can you walk, though?"

Tatsumi stood up, "I think so"

"Alright, then let's go." Kyu had a wide grin on his face as he joyfully marched out of the alley.

Tatsumi and I followed, I was a bit anxious on where this stranger would take us. I think Tatsumi read my mind.

"Where are we even going?" He asked.

"We're gonna say hello to a friend of mine." He didn't even look at us as he kept walking. It was then for a brief moment I saw it. A blurred entity was caught in my peripheral, I turned to get a better look but nothing was there.

Kyu turned towards me, he looked me in the eyes then smiled. I felt a heavy feeling on my shoulders as Kyu turned back around as we went along our way.
