Chapter 9: 9. A Safe

RING!

The sound of an alarm resounded loudly, startling all the visitors.

Most of them were only human, so this kind of danger signal immediately caused panic among them.

Ciel found the people surrounding the Titan statues dispersed.

Seeing that, his figure quickly changed as a silver mask appeared on his face while a black coat covered his body.

The Silver Mask wasn't just an ordinary mask, it was advanced technology that could help him change the color of his eyes and hair as he wished.

When he put it on, his eyes and hair turned golden.

He moved towards the statues.

Many noticed him, but those who panicked immediately ignored him.

"Now, hurry, hurry!" Suddenly there were several shouts.

Ciel looked at another corner and couldn't help but be surprised because he found four people, wearing black robes and masks.

After appearing, they ran towards the stairs.

This was a little unexpected but Ciel wasn't interested in dealing with them right now, his own business was much more important.

In no time, he arrived in front of the statues.

He took out ten Cores and placed them on the shadow of one of the Titan statues.

As soon as his shadow sank into the statue's shadow, it began to condense.

Ciel didn't wait for it to finish, he sucked it into his body.

Even though it wasn't finished yet, the process could still be carried out in his body. He did that on purpose so as not to attract attention.

After that, he did the same to the other shadows.

From start to finish, he only needed less than a minute.

Some of the security outside finally came in.

They were a little confused when they saw Ciel and the four people climbing the stairs, wondering if they were a group.

On the other hand, the group suddenly threw a bomb at the wall on the side of the stairs, causing the wall to shatter as the bomb exploded.

"Stop them!" In the end, more security went up the stairs.

They might not be Evolvers, but they were equipped with quite dangerous firearms.

'What do they want to steal?' Ciel wondered while entering his shadow.

The shadow then went quickly to a certain corner.

The security guards were dumbfounded and the few who wanted to chase after him finally stopped.

When Ciel arrived at a place where there was no one, he came out of his shadow, without the mask and coat.

He walked into the crowd, joining those who had not yet come out of the museum.

If what the group stole was anything of value, he thought he would steal it from them.

After blowing up the wall, one of the group went inside the collapsed wall while the other three waited on the stairs.

One of the three then let out something that emitted light, forming an energy shield.

When several security guards shot them, the bullets they shot immediately bounced back.

The person who entered the collapsed wall earlier came out not long after.

He carried a safe that was not too big but looked very hard with a company logo in front of it.

Red Rock Company!

It is a giant investment company that is said to own shares in all publicly traded companies throughout the federation.

'Should I take it from them?' Ciel wondered again even though he was sure it was something of great value.

After a moment of thought, he decided to follow them first.

They were already starting to come down the stairs. With weapons that are quite complete and plus the fact that they are Evolvers, they easily get past the security.

After passing him, only then did Ciel follow them.

A van suddenly stopped in front of the museum. They entered it and it immediately slid into the street.

'Dark Crow, follow them!' said Ciel, staring at the bird that had just come out of the roof.

Receiving his orders, it immediately flew towards the van, following from above.

'Now how am I going to follow them?' Ciel looked around, looking for a vehicle that had a driver because he wouldn't be able to start the engine without the key from the owner.

In the end, his gaze stopped on a motorcycle ridden by a high school student.

Ciel approached him in a running manner. His running speed let the student know right away that he was an Evolver.

"Boy, lend me your motorcycle," he said, holding the handlebar of the motorcycle.

His sharp gaze made the student lower his neck.

He didn't dare to refuse and could only say, "Please drive slowly!"

Ciel didn't answer. After the student got off, he got on the motorcycle.

Whoosh!

It slid right off, overtaking several cars.

Ciel's eyes occasionally glanced at the sky.

Dark Crow was out of sight, but he could still feel its presence.

Taking advantage of the small size of the motorcycle, he was constantly overtaking every car in front of him.

It only took about 5 minutes before he saw the van of the thieves again.

They were heading to an overpass and occasionally fired guns to intimidate the cars in front of them.

'Boss, I will stop them.' Ciel suddenly received a message from Dark Crow.

Just as the van arrived at the flyover, he saw a sizable rock fall towards the van and land right on the windshield.

BANG!

The windshield was broken.

The van driver was clearly shocked that the car immediately lost control.

Because it's so fast, the slightest loss of control can cause an accident.

In the end, the van hit the road divider.

Ciel quickly got off the motorcycle.

He went to the overpass and came out of his shadow there.

This time, he was wearing his mask and coat.

He ran toward the van, which was moving backwards.

The people in the van quickly noticed his arrival, they were shocked and confused.

The person sitting in the front seemed to say 'who are you' while pointing a pistol at Ciel.

The latter responded by waving his hand.

The Shadow Lizard appeared beside him, it immediately jumped at the van.

BANG!

The person holding the pistol fired a bullet at the Shadow Lizard, which unfortunately bounced right back.

Of course, that won't work. It did, however, have almost as strong a body as the real, so ordinary bullets wouldn't be able to injure it, only laser weapons could threaten it.

When the Shadow Lizard arrived in front of the van, it hit it, causing the car to overturn.

The people inside had no other choice but to get out of it.

They turned out to be six.

The other two also wore black robes and masks.

Each of them immediately pointed a pistol at Ciel after they came out.

However, Ciel worrylessly walked towards them.

He looked at the safe in the hands of one of them saying, "Leave that to me!"

"Don't dream," replied the person holding the safe.

"Hmm!" Ciel smiled faintly. Two things that looked like shadows jumped out from within his body.

They expanded rapidly and when they landed, the flyover shook for a moment.

The eyes of the six black robed people instantly widened, it was the same for several spectators in the distance.

Right in front of Ciel, stood two creatures that were three times as big as humans.

They have four hands.

And even though their bodies were black as shadows, they looked very much alive.

"Hmmmm!!!"

A cold snort echoed from their mouths.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

They lunged at the six people simultaneously.

At the same time, the Shadow Lizard spewed sand into the area behind them

The sand quickly formed a wall, blocking their way of retreat.

"Shit!" They started cursing.

Having no other choice, they could finally only go forward and sideways.

One of them moved late and unfortunately, one of the Shadow Titans arrived beside him.

It sent both fists of his right hands, one on his face and one on his stomach.

BANG!

The man was thrown, hitting the car behind.

His mask came off, revealing the face of a man in his mid-20s.

He coughed up blood and looked like he couldn't stand up anymore.

On the other hand, Ciel ran towards the person holding the safe.

He fired several bullets at Ciel but Ciel entered his shadow.

In no time, he arrived in front of him.

Whoosh!

His hand came out of his shadow, reaching for the pistol the person was holding.

The person tried to run after the pistol was seized by Ciel. He swerved left and right, clearly intending to dodge in case Ciel shot him.

However, Ciel who had come out of his shadow only pointed the muzzle of the pistol at the person's shadow.

BANG!

He pulled the trigger, sending a bullet that in a split second hit the shadow's head.

"Ohhh!"

The person screamed with his eyes wide open.

There were no wounds on his head, but as if there was an invisible attack, blood suddenly poured out from all the holes in his head.

He fell after that.

"What!" The others were astonished.

Ciel didn't wait for them to recover from their reaction, he quickly ran to the person's corpse and took the safe before backing away while observing it, wondering how hard it was, would his Laser Pistol be able to destroy it?

"Mm!" He suddenly heard the sounds of sirens.

Several police cars came from a distance, there was even a helicopter.

"Time to go," he said.

All of his Shadow Slaves immediately retreated, entering his body while he entered his shadow.

Quickly, the shadow descended through the overpass pillar.

It entered a narrow alley and disappeared without anyone knowing where it had gone.

From start to finish, Dark Crow was still flying deep in the sky.

They planned to meet somewhere else.

The bird had obviously deliberately kept itself from showing for fear that it wouldn't be able to appear again if it was seen with Ciel in disguise.
