[ POV Change ]

As we moved through the halls, the other two victims came near me.

" I'm Chun Jiao. And he is Xie Dongyi."

From their dialect and names, I could tell that we were not captured from the same place. The girl introduced herself and the other boy caused me to think for a second about what I should tell them since I never actually had a name.

"My name is Lin Lingtian. I was locked up in the adjacent area."

"Area next door?! So are you saying there are other places like this?"

"It seems so."

In response to my answer, the girl bit her lip.

After a few more questions, I realized that the girl was just, like me, having no idea how they ended up here. As everyone in each of the trapped rooms was dying, she clenched her teeth and endured it until she was eventually rescued by Xiao Fei.

It was the same with the boy.

" Where are you from ?"

To my question, the girl frowned as she tried to remember but after the time spent in prison it was a miracle if she remembered it.

" Do you know of the Zhongshan Province ?"

My question caused confused looks to be cast on me by the duo.

' Looks like these people had enough resources to capture children from multiple provinces.' I concluded from all the information I had gathered.

"What's the hold-up? Let's go." Xiao Fei shouted out causing the two to speed up while I stayed a little behind.

The corpses that decorated the rooms we went through all had different kinds of clothes some of which looked foreign to me.

' Don't tell me these people had kidnapped children from other kingdoms.'

A thought crossed my mind which if true meant that Biyu and Xiao Fei were powerful enough to destroy such a powerful organization but if I took the mural warning of Alexander into account then there is a possibility that Biyu and Xiao Fei are a part of the very organization that trapped us here but why go through all of this drama?

Why stage all of this?

My mind was filled with innumerable questions as I gazed was on the other side of the hallway. There was also a huge iron gate similar to what I had previously passed through.

Chun Jiao and Xie Dongyi did not recognize the existence of the iron gate that divided the different sections for some reason.

Chun Jiao's voice trembled.

"Oh my God! There are more places like this?"

" Quiet !" Xiao Fei shouted out causing the gi to zip her mouth shut.

" Really," Biyu said to Xiao Fei earning her a glare in response before the masked man said.

"Follow me."

Chun Jiao and Xie Dongyi followed after the grumpy man while I was a little behind.

The next part of the hall was without any kind of torches but, Biyu and Xiao Fei moved without any problem.

The duo meanwhile scrambled to find the right way.

If I had given them a hand, they could walk faster, but I didn't.

Giving up my hand meant that I would not be able to use it in an emergency. It's like giving out a weakness and in the presence of two dangerous people like Biyu and Xiao Fei, that wasn't an option.

With the level of paranoia I had, I was aware that to survive I must not let anything easily slip into my guard.

"Hold my hand."

Xie Dongyi held out a hand to Chun Jiao

I thought that she would hesitate for a moment, but she immediately grabbed onto his hand and followed behind me.

As they moved on to the next area, they saw more survivors alongside similar adults to Xiao Fei and Biyu.

While these mysterious adults gathered to talk.

" Hmm, at least I don't have the least mortals." A beautiful red-haired woman called out to Biyu who huffed and looked away.

" It's not the time, Shen Xiu. Let's gather up and go back to our cultivation." A white-haired male with slit eyes said causing everyone to nod.

Hearing their words, I couldn't help but frown.

Why were these people treating all of us like objects to win some kind of game?

What is cultivation?

Don't tell me they are going to use us as fertilizer in a garden.

I thought before I slapped myself. This wasn't a time to joke around.

Like Chun Jiao and Xie Dongyi, the other victims also gathered together and shared information.

They were alarmed by the sudden appearance of me, Chun Jiao, and Xie Dongyi. However, Chun Jiao came forward and explained it calmly, and soon the boundaries were softened.

I glanced into the room while the others were having a conversation.

Most of the rooms also had decomposing bodies.

Unlike my section, only a few people died of starvation. Instead, most of them showed signs of self-harm. Some had their heads broken, and others showed signs of strangulation. They must have been unable to endure despair, loneliness, and fear so they chose to commit suicide.

It was a harsh environment for children in their teenage years to endure. It only makes sense for them to commit suicide.

The next thing I looked at was their food bowl.

It was bigger than the food bowl in the area where I was confined, and the amount of food was greater.

At least in terms of food, it was clear that they received more rations than in the area where I was confined.

'Were they discriminating?'

Whatever the purpose of those who imprisoned them here, it was clear that they managed it by giving each section a different level of treatment.

In comparing the sections I have observed, the environment in the area where I was confined was the harshest. It was a miracle in itself that I managed to survive there alone.

However, the children who are talking outside did not seem to realize that fact.

When I came out, Chun Jiao sensed my presence and said.

"These children were also imprisoned at the same time as us. This is Lee Min and Wang Fu."

And as if the children had formed a bond with one another, Chun Jiao introduced the children as the representative.

I silently remembered their names.

In the third district, Lee Min and Mang Fu stood out.

Lee Min was a beautiful girl similar to Chun Jiao, while Mang Fu was a very handsome man. He had a very androgynous face and appearance that he could not be considered a man.

There were probably a lot of girls who could have fallen for him when he was outside.

Lee Min spoke to me.

"Hello, I'm Lee Min. I'll be in your care from now on."

I did not know what he was asking for, but I silently nodded my head.

" Let's go, children," Biyu said with a smile as everyone continued moving on to the next section.

There were a few more survivors in the next area. Around eight people survived under the lead of another one of the mysterious adults.

Whenever they moved to other sections, the number of survivors continued to increase with occasionally a mysterious colleague of Biyu joining in.

In the end, the number of those who survived reached a whopping 100 while the number of those who died more than doubled.

'Three hundred people were put in, and only one hundred of them survived.'

It's not normal for three hundred young children to be imprisoned. No matter how big this place is, if three hundred children went missing all at the same time, the authorities will not remain silent but what if that wasn't the case?

' What if their range was extended to other parts of the world then no one would probably notice.'

The number of messages written in blood I saw in the previous rooms told me that these people weren't just kidnapping orphans.

They were kidnapping children from their families and putting them in this hell.

Still, the question remained; why?

What did all of us have in common?

I tried to think of some kind of reason as Biyu opened the door to the next area. However, the scenery that appeared this time was different from what the victims had imagined.
