I sat on the edge of the student desk closest to where her teacher's desk was situated and asked, "What seems to be the issue?"
Miss Aiko looked at me with a bit of curiosity and asked, "What type of person do you identify yourself as while you're in this institute? Is it as a superior student who belongs here or an inferior student just waiting to be chewed and spat out by its system?"
"Neither. I see myself as someone walking the thin line in-between heaven and hell."
She didn't seem too pleased by my answer and picked up a manila folder that had the school monogram on it and slowly opened it.
Pulling out seemingly freshly printed documents.
Miss Aiko then laid the sheets out one by one on the table as if they were playing cards at a casino.
"History, Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, and random compilation exam."
I looked at the name that was written on the top right hand corner of each sheet of paper. Those were mine.
She side-eyed me and asked, "Each exam paper consisted of a written section and multiple choice. The written is worth 50%, while the multiple choice is 50% as well, making up the complete total of 100% for that one subject. You scored excellently on all of the written portions of the entry examinations, but when it comes down to the multiple choice portions, you seem to have decided to not take them seriously."
Miss Aiko repeated the same actions with the multiple choice answer sheets.
"Each multiple-choice sheet had 100 questions."
I observed them even more. Each one of those sheets had a letter of the alphabet crafted by the shading the answer bubbles."
She pointed to each one of them while speaking, "For the History sheet answers formed a B, the Mathematics sheet answers formed an O, the English answer sheet formed an R, the Science answer sheet formed an E, the Social Studies answer sheet formed a D, and the random complication exam answer sheet formed an exclamation mark."
I kept my silence.
"'That spells out 'BORED!'."
I nodded my head and replied, "Yes, I am aware of what it spells out."
Miss Aiko got up from her seat and slowly approached me, "You scored almost perfectly on the written half of the examinations to balance out the fact that you were going to play around with the multiple choice section. So tell me, Mr. Amaya, what type of message were you attempting to send here?"
"I just figured that I would tell the examinators what I thought about the exams."
Miss Aiko chuckled a bit, then replied, "This most recent examination, the one that was used to gauge if you improved or not while in this new environment. It looked like you handed in a blank test paper, but in actuality, you just answered the hardest questions that were placed in the middle of the quiz. As a result, you scored a 60, which is the minimum pass mark and also the total percentage you received on your entrance exam So Yuki Amaya, are you attempting to troll the board of directors by doing these things?"
I sighed, "As I told a certain person before, I dislike the fact that I am being treated like some guinea pig with this experimental class. However, the entry examination stunt was just a joke to me. In actuality, I planned to fail and apply to another school, but it came as a surprise that I was still accepted, but as the term progressed, it made sense why."
Miss Aiko was about to speak again, but I put my index finger on my lips, indicating that she needed to be quiet.
I then silently pointed towards the classroom door, I noticed that the sleeve of someone's dark blue blazer was barely visible in the narrow downward rectangular piece of distorted glass, which is on the left side of the door and a couple of inches above the door handle.
Whoever it was is pressed against the door and attempting to listen in. On campus, there are so many nosy people.
I quietly tiptoed to the door and quickly turned the door handle, opening it and causing the eavesdropper to fall into the class.
*Hard Thud*
Whoever the person was fell completely onto the ground because they had their full weight leaning against the door.
Hmm, long dark peach hair and a slender figure. Oh gee, it's Minori.
Miss Aiko sighed and said, "That's awfully rude, Miss Takeda."
Minori got up from the ground and dusted herself off.
She glared at our teacher and asked the one question, "I was stumped on as well."
"Miss Aiko, why was I placed in this class when my entrance score was higher than what was required?"
Miss Aiko sighed and replied, "You don't seem to get it, do you?"
A puzzled look crept up on her face.
"Someone requested for you to be placed here, in order for you to actually progress as a person and student."
Minori snapped at Miss Aiko, "That's bullshit. That can't be possible and it shouldn't be possible for someone to be able to influence a decision like that."
Miss Aiko smirked and tried to push Minori's buttons, "Oh I see. You think you're too good to be here with your classmates, right? You think you belong in a non-ridiculed class, right? Well, you're wrong, I've been observing your behavior and actions, so I must say that the person who influenced the decision was right on the money with this call. You still need to develop as a student before you can run with the elite of this school."
Ouch, that has to sting, but she is right. Minori won't be able to go toe to toe with certain elite students from the other classrooms. Hopefully, this will be a reality check for her.

Minori's eyes burned with anger, and she stormed out of the room.
"Before you leave, I want you to see something, Mr. Amaya."
Miss Aiko handed over a sheet of paper which looked like a bet sheet.
She said, "The teachers all made a wager on how they thought class 1-4 would perform."
I read the wagers and kept a straight face, but on the inside I was fuming.
Next to each homeroom teacher's name was the class they were assigned to.
First-year classes
Hatake (Class 1-1): The Board of directors will dissolve the class by the end of the second term.
Makino Kejii (Class 1-2): They will all be expelled by the end of the first year.
Amane Seta (Class 1-3): Will finish in last place after three years.
Ayumi Aiko (Class 1-4): Graduates in first place.
Second-year classes
Yumiko Asai (Class 2-1): The majority will drop out or be expelled.
Naofumi Tachibanna (Class 2-2): They will graduate in last place.
Keiki Koganei (Class 2-3): The entire class gets expelled in year two.
Erisa Himi (Class 2-4): Graduates in third place.
Third-year classes
Sae Kuroba (Class 3-1): Graduated in last place.
Ayuri Yamagashi (Class 3-2): The majority drops out at the end of year one.
Takashi Moto (Class 3-3): Graduates in Last Place
Yoshimi Sato (Class 3-4): The entire class gets expelled in term three.
I looked at her and said, "You wagered that we would graduate in first place. Is it out of actual hope or do you want a huge pay day if that does happen?"
Miss Aiko shrugged and replied, "It's up to you to decide how you want to proceed with this new information."
Miss Aiko then looked at me with a devilish grin and continued, "As you know, your adoptive parents are well regarded alumni here. So a complete failure on class 1-4, which their adoptive son is a part of, will greatly affect their image. I know how much you respect them based on the interview you did in order to get into the school."
I balled up my fists when I heard that.
"So you intend to use me as a tool for your own personal gain, or is there something else? A simple bet with teachers won't make you do all of this."
Miss Aiko folded her arms and replied, "Well, you're quite sharp, but yes, I struck a deal with the board of directors. If class 1-4 graduates in first place, then I'll get an executive position."
My phone received a message but I chose to ignore it, due to the fact that I am having this bombshell of a conversation right now.
I could only glare at my teacher as she smiled back at me.
