It has been 4 days since our joint math class with 1-3 and surprisingly there hasn't been retaliation from the members due to that incident.

Moreover, our class has been elated due to the fact that they didn't lose any points due to Reizo and class 1-3's scheme. They looked at Minori, Eiko, and Ryoko as the elite of the class due to their efforts to sniff out the lie.

Miss Aiko had just finished teaching Social Studies and was just waiting for the bell.

Finally, she said something that was a bit supportive as a teacher who had a bit of concern for the class she was tasked with. I am just playing around. She's just protecting her assets. After all, we need to graduate in order for her to get what she so lustfully desires.

She inhaled deeply, then exhaled.

"The next class clash may be coming soon, so I need you guys to be focused and try for at least third place, because if you don’t, you may face another task meant to derail you from your goals. Remember, all the exams are carefully monitored by the Board of Directors, and they will be keeping an extra close eye on you due to your class being an experiment. This school was founded to create exceptional students. If you are drowning in so much inferiority that you can't swim towards betterment, then you will get the ax. That goes for written exams or class clash examinations."

She continued, "The next major exam will be midterms, so you have to perform above average. Shoot for a score above 55. That's the bench mark that has been set by the directors in regards to your class. The rest of the classes will be held to the standard of 78% and upwards.

We don't only have to worry about our own Grade Points dropping below 150 points at the end of the term, but also try to maneuver past any obstacles thrown our way by the people who are currently controlling the school and have a deal with the threats looming from the other classes. Sigh, this is getting ridiculous now.

Ichiyo folded his arms and said, "Well, consider the mid-term exams successfully passed."

Some of our classmates looked at him as if he was a bit delirious. I get it, Ichiyo and written exams probably don’t mix well. Like oil and water. I would personally like to have faith in him. I mean, the guy looks dedicated.

Arisu sighed, "Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves here."

Ichiyo looked at her and said, "Are you scared that I will get a higher grade than you?"

Him saying those words is like a human covered in animal blood talking smack to a lion.

Arisu seemed a bit triggered by him saying that.

However, Seishiro calmed her down by saying, "Just ignore him. We both know that won't ever happen."

Ichiyo exclaimed, "What the hell does that mean? I am sure I can focus and score as high as she!"

Arisu turned her attention away from Ichiyo, "I am going to pretend I didn’t hear that."

Well, that's another bold claim by Ichiyo. I am starting to think that's his own personal quirk.

Kai sighed and tried to calm Ichiyo, who was a bit riled up.

Our teacher just watched the entire exchange happen and just shook her head.

Miss Aiko was then summoned to the principal’s office via SPA (the school’s public address system).

Miss Aiko groaned, "Do some silent study time or something until I come back," then she left the class at a slow pace. Obviously, she wasn’t too thrilled about being summoned to the office.

Ryoko addressed the class, "Alright guys, we have to get serious about this. We don't know when the next class clash is, and Miss Aiko wants us to finish at least third, but I am confident we can take first place easily."

"Yeah, we will." Ichiyo got up from his seat. "I want to win this 3 year war and go on to achieve everything I want in life, I don't want to believe that we are just inferior students in the school's eyes."

Well, that was surprisingly inspirational. For a moment there, Ichiyo actually sounded mature.

I felt Minori's intense stare on me. I wonder what seems to be her issue now?

I nervously turned to Minori, "Yes, how may I assist you?"

"Do you plan on taking this upcoming exam seriously?" Minori exhaled.

Uh. I think I'll see if I can get a max score, just as a personal challenge to myself.

I glanced over to the right side of me, beyond Minori, and observed Maiya Murata. She seems a bit more on edge now than before. Her grades aren't really what you'd call pretty, but she did manage to score a 66 last time. So I don't think she would be in any danger.

Before I could fully form another thought in my head, the classroom door opened and in walked Miss Aiko, holding a sheet of white paper.

She had this look of 'wow, I sure didn't expect this to happen so soon' on her face. I'm not even sure how I came up with that observation, but it just popped into my head.

The entire class noticed a change in her mood and became quiet.

Miss Aiko then read from the paper in a tone that sounded like 'I told you so', "Class 1-4 has been scheduled for a punishment due to the massive number of students who failed to get the benchmark score, which was 60 in the last quiz. The Board of Directors, along with the principal, has agreed on a fitting task that will serve as the perfect punishment. Class 1-4 will be tasked with writing an exam with a punishment consisting of whoever places last having 30% of their grade taken off of their final midterm score. If the student's grade falls below 50% after the penalty is applied, then he/she will be expelled from the school. Also, with that being said, if the student who receives the penalty gets expelled, then class 1-4 will receive a handicap in the next class clash."

Everybody was dead silent after hearing that announcement. Reality was finally sinking in once again for some of them. It's time for each of them to exceed their own limits to avoid taking an early curtain call, and the claps will be from the people who see us as a joke.

They have to actually get serious, otherwise they will risk being expelled.

Minori kept quiet and stared forward. Clearly, she seemed annoyed by the timing of everything.

Well, this is quite a turn of events, I must say. They are eager to start weeding us out one by one.
