Today was another day of studying. This time it wasn't desperate study but more mandatory if we were to survive what was about to come.

We were in the library again. This time the group is inclusive of Seishiro, Tori, Kiyo, Arisu, Ichiyo, and myself. I left Minori to deal with Maiya because of her somewhat extreme shyness, which I am starting to question because she looked comfortable with whoever it was the previous night. Am I just overthinking it? I mean, a boyfriend shouldn't have been the first thing I came up with. There's always the relative or the good old childhood friend route.

The others were in their own separate groups, as I predicted. With Eiko floating between three different groups, assisting them, Ryoko did the same, but with his grades, I think he needs to be the one getting tutored and not the other way around. Kai was getting help from friends in class 1-2, which was a surprise for me again, and finally, Yujiro chose the obvious thing of staying to himself.

This is what you call progress!

That covers all the bases for now. I just want to get through midterms and get this over with as soon as possible. This excess studying is making my brain hurt, while being around too many people at once is draining my social battery, so my predicament is quite predicamenty. By the way, that is an actual word to me, at least when I am trying to score some extra points in scramble.

Suddenly, Minori excused herself after getting a text. However, my first thought wasn't "wow, she actually left in the middle of a study session," but more along the lines of "wow, someone is actually texting her."

I filled in the empty space and assisted Maiya. Is this just her way of getting back at me for dumping this responsibility on her in the first place?

Woe is me! I am just kidding. I am the one who started it, so I might as well see it through to the end. After all, I am the same person who personally declared war on the unfair system of this school, so I can't have myself being put in tough positions due to a classmate's deciding not to pick up a book.

I still can't believe that most of these teachers wagered that we would all be expelled before the third year. I just want to make them eat those words as soon as possible. Maybe I'll request that Miss Aiko give me half of what she's getting since she is basically using me as a tool to get what she wants.

"Hello, Yuki."

"Are you daydreaming again?"

Tori's voice broke me out of my thoughts, and I shook my head.

"Sorry about that, I had a moment there."

Ichiyo poked me with his elbow and said, "Don't you know it's rude to slack off in a place of learning?"

Heh? Did the lazy person here just tell me about slacking off? You know what? I am just going to turn the other cheek.

Tori jokingly defended me and said, "Go easy on Yuki, he's the one who is overseeing this group surprisingly well. You would think that he's the one who created it."

I nervously laughed and said, "It was all Minori's idea to get all of you together, so I am just seeing it through like the good worker I am."

Ichiyo raised his left eye and retorted, "Sounds like you're her slave."

I sarcastically responded, "Yeah, I am. It's pretty much our dynamic and one of my many kinks."

Ichiyo's facial expression changed from happy to confused to perplexed in a matter of seconds after hearing that.

Tori pulled out her phone and typed while speaking out loud, "Note to self: Yuki Amaya has a slave kink."

I blinked twice and looked at her with a straight face after learning that she actually saved it on her phone's reminders.

Seishiro coughed and said, "Alright, moving on."

Finally, Arisu stepped in and saved me by saying, "I am pretty sure this is a joke. I think?"

You think?? I am starting to think that my sarcasm is starting to sound more believable, so I should probably tone it down a bit.

I instantly switched the topic and said, "So I'll get us some drinks on me."

Ichiyo jokingly pressed the matter even more, "Oh so you like to serve others as well. It's technically cheating on Minori."

Sigh, that's it. I'll most definitely shake his drink before giving it to him.

I got up from my seat and exited the library. Then I made my way to the convenience store.

The campus was surprisingly less active today. Usually, you would see more students out and about.

After finally reaching the store and entering through its automatic doors, I looked at the different drink choices.

What do females like to drink besides the tears of the males they reject? Hmm, maybe I'll play it safe and get them canned coffee, and for the guys, maybe soda or juice.

I made my selections and brought the items to the cashier, while looking out the glass door of the store, I saw Minori walking across the food court.

So she skipped out on us because she wanted to take a stroll? After paying for the drinks, I elected to follow her under the guise of curiosity.

After a bit of walking, she turned into the same corner she pulled me into on the day of the class bonding exercise in order to avoid her brother. Now I am even more curious. I stood against the wall which made up one side of the corner and peeped in.

She was meeting up with her brother, who had a drink in his hand.

Heh? Is that normal for siblings? You know what, Yuki, don't even try to comprehend it.

"Minori, why did you call me out here when I said that I don't want to be seen out in public with you?"

Minori sighed and said, "Arima I need you to tell me the truth. How did you influence my placement into the experimental class?"

Arima Takeda glared at her, "I just asked for a little favor that I'll have to pay back when the time comes. Now let me ask you a question."

"Yea.."

"Why do you insist on chasing after me? Don't you know that our level of potential is greatly uneven? If I am a 10, then you're a 5. Even our own parents said that. So stop trying to convince yourself that you can ever be acknowledged in the same light as myself, by our parents, society, and even me."

"But wait, I can reach you..."

Arima broke out into laughter, saying, "Being smart on paper is totally different from applying that knowledge in real-life situations."

"...."

Her brother saw an opportunity and took it.

"Let's make a wager, my dear sister. If you can graduate in first place with your experimental class filled with inferior students, I'll acknowledge you, but if you fail to do that, then you will have to sign over your half of our future inheritance from our parents.

Minori kept quiet.

As Arima was about to walk off, Minori attempted to grab his arm. He instantly slapped it away. Arima seemed annoyed at the fact that she even tried to grab him.

I accidently shifted my hand that was holding the bag of drinks, and it made a crinkle sound, which alerted the pair to my hidden presence.

Arima tossed the bottle of water in my direction and said, "Come on out. I dislike people who are eavesdroppers."

Sigh. I have no choice now.

I guess I'll have to cross off stalking as one of my potential hobbies if I am making stupid mistakes like that.
