I walked around the corner and revealed myself to Minori and her brother. The look on her face wasn't pretty at all.
"You didn't trust me enough to organize the Ichiyo matter, and now you're spying on me?" she snarled.
I sighed and said, "It's nothing like that."
Arima looked at me oddly and said, "I would assume you're one of my sister's classmates? I know she isn't that socially acceptable enough to actually make friends."
She protested and said, "You're right, he's just my classmate. My stupid classmate who can't keep his nose out of my business."
Hmm, did she just deny our rocky friendship and wasn't she the same person listening in on my conversation with Miss Aiko?
"Yeah, she's right. We're classmates, nothing else and nothing more."
Arima chuckled and said, "That figures. So let me ask you a question."
In a curious tone of voice, I said, "I am listening."
"Do you think that a firework can be compared to a grenade?"
I put my hands in my pockets and replied, "It isn't comparable at all. A firework is made for show and amusement. A grenade is meant to destroy or kill."
Arima slowly clapped and said, "Smart guy. Well, you just properly explained the difference between my little sister and I. Her intelligence is all show and mine is used for the very thing this school environment governs. "
Minori kept quiet while her brother and I continued our conversation.
"You may be right there. She does lack the tools to be effective in this environment. Minori is better suited for a traditional learning environment."
Arima smugly looked at Minori and said, "Well, there you hav-"
I cut him off while he was still speaking.
"I wasn't finished making my point. It's true that Minori is better suited for traditional learning environments, but she always has the option of acquiring those very things that will benefit her in the long run."
Arima looked at me with curiosity, "Are you saying that you possess those very tools needed to win?"
"Hmm. I wouldn't say that. I'll just consider myself a high roller."
"A high roller, you say? Then, as her classmate, should my sister accept my wager?"
"Well, if she considers your acknowledgement to be worth half of her future inheritance, then I said go for it," I replied without hesitation.
Minori tried to interject by saying, "Yuki, what are yo-"
Arima raised his hand and silenced her. I see he has Minori on a tight leash.
"There you have it then, Minori. You just accepted my wager, so it should be fun to inherit everything and have you start from scratch."
I sighed and said, "Now that I've been directly involved in your sibling issues, I suggest we make a wager ourselves."
Arima's ears perked up when he heard those words.
"Go on.."
Pulling out my phone and opening up my Grades Point application. I then turned the screen to face him.
"I currently have a total of 110 points, so let me ask you a question."
"What is it?"
I smirked and asked, "Is it possible to transfer points between students?"

Arima had an excited look on his face and said, "Think of Grade Points as a type of bartering system used among the students. It's considered intellectual currency, so yes, it is entirely possible."
"This is great news, so how many grade points do you have right now?"
Arima pulled out his phone and showed me his screen.
Name: Arima Takeda
Class: 2-4
Student ID: 828441459-5
Grade Points Total: 1200
Hmm, 1200 points? That means he scores high on his exams and he probably received a bit from other students.
"Alright then, I have a proposal."
Arima lowered his phone and motioned for me to keep going.
"I'll bet all of my points, inclusive of Minori's, for 700 of your points."
Arima had an amused look on his face.
"What do you want to bet on?"
I always had an equally amused look on my face.
"That class 1-4 places first in the next class clash."
Minori said, "Are you out of your mind? You're going to get both of us expelled because there's no way we will make up the minimum amount before the end of the term."
I sighed and said, "This is why your brother thinks that you're inferior to him. You never take risks and you play it safe. So you're like the vanilla sibling he never wanted."
Arima chuckled, "Minori I like this guy. He seems to know what he is doing, so I'll agree to it. Did you get that on recording Yuki?"
"So you knew that I was recording you?"
Arima slipped his phone back into his pocket and replied, "One of the basic rules of making a wager is getting it on record, so there won't be any back slides."
I relocked my phone and said, "That's correct. I'll forward this to the student council president so we can make it official."
Arima then left the corner while saying, "I look forward to seeing you out of the school soon enough, my dear sister."
I chuckled a bit to myself because I knew what was coming next.
Minori grabbed me by both shoulders and began to shake me violently while saying, "Are you stupid or are you crazy? How do you expect us to get a win over classes 1-1, 1-2, and 1-3 with our current students?"
I exhaled and said, "Well, that's where you'll have to put in the work. You basically admitted that you want to be acknowledged by him, so force him to do it by winning as much as you can."
She stopped shaking me and replied, "You make it sound so simple."
I straightened my school uniform, "I never said that it would be."
Well, now that wager is up in the air. I can't take it back, so the one thing left to do is continue to push forward.
