Chapter 11: Rushspike again

[Ava's POV]

'Why is she asking my that? Did she find something out?' Unconsciously reached out to my pocket where my small notebook was stored, and it was still there. I kept information about all the dragons in the nest in there so if they'd find it Ruby and I would be damned. I shook my head and Valka retreated. 

Hiccup and Valka looked at each other. "We'll be back in a second" Hiccup said and they walked out of the door. As soon as it closed I jumped up again. I checked everything once again and was relived as the only thing missing was really my knife. 'At least it doesn't seem like anything got damaged while they were washing my...'

I had to realize that they probably washed my flying mechanism without knowing that it was in the back of my suit. 'I hope it is ok' I used my right hand to scan the my back. It felt like the parachute was still ok but I didn't know anything about the mechanism. 'SHIT' I accidentally pressed to hard on the compartment where the retractable wing was stored, and the left wing shot out. 

'I need to get this back in' I grabbed the string which was built to pulll the wing back it but something blocked the mechanism. 'Oh no, this is bad' I could hear steps coming closer to the door. If they'd come out now, they'd find me with a wood-leather wing sticking out of my back. Panicking, I looked around.

The handle of the door was already being pushed down, so I decided to take my lat chance and jumped on the bed. I knack could be heard as whatever blocking the wing broke, and my body weight pushed it back in. I turned my body a bit and noticed that it was staying inside. 

"Oh.. I didn't know you were that tired. I wanted to introduce you to the others but... you can sleep if" I jumped out of the bed and shook my head signaling him to lead the way. He seemed a bit surprised, but brought me outside the house. 

'Wow...' From this place we had an amazing view over Berk. I could see dozens of dragons flying around and although I was used to seeing something like this it was still something awesome to see. "So... this is our home, Berk" Hiccup said. "Come with me, I want to introduce you to the others"

Just as we started to walk We could hear the sound of two dragons and a human screaming. Apparently, two dragons had collided midair and both were now falling down from the sky. The fall wasn't that bad but what made me very worried was that I knew one of the dragons. It was a deadly Nader. But not any deadly Nader. She was called Rushspike...

A name I gave her. 'If she sees me, she'll probably blow my cover before I even get a chance to plan my disappearance...' I though. Hiccup was already rushing over to the place where the two dragons landed, letting my stand alone. I took my chance and rushed after Hiccup. But shortly before arriving where the dragons were I hid myself in a bush.

[Hiccup's POV]

"What happened?" As I arrived, I saw two dragons snapping at each other. "Hiccup! Please get that thing away from my dragon before she's hurt!" The woman said. Her monstrous nightmare was circling the deadly Nader. 'I have never seen this dragon on Berk on anywhere near it. So why did it come exactly here?' 

The two dragons were still staring at each other while I slowly got closer to them. As I got close enough, the deadly Nader's attention shifted to me. She seemed to inspect me. "Everything is ok..." I slowly held my hand up, getting closer to her. Suddenly, the deadly Nader started growling at me. I pulled my hand back, but it didn't stop. 

'Does she recognize me from somewhere?'  I just wanted to try approaching her again, as a strange sound came out of the bushes. The Nader's ears perked up. 'Is she talking with it?' It seemed like the dragon and whatever was in the bushes had a conversation. "Woa!" Without any notice the Nader took of with an incredible speed. 

'What did just happen?' I still didn't really understand what was going on her as the girl came running to my side. She looked confused. I'll talk to mother about this later...'

[Ruby's POV]

'It can't be that hard to find a giant island with dragons and humans on it!' I landed back in the mountain. Persistence and me had been searching for about 8 hours now but didn't find anything. "I'm so sorry." Persistence said.

"I'ts ok, well find her" A small dragon baby trotted over to me. "Alpha, where is aunty?" the baby asked, referring to Ava. She always liked to play with the kids, so they really liked her. The elders also enjoyed her presence, while the normal adults just couldn't care less. 

I turned around as I heard the sound of shattering wood. "Not again!" I scolded Rushspike. "I found Ava and the guy that kidnapped her!" she screamed, and the entire nest went silent.
