Chapter 2: I have freaking wings !?!

[Ruby's POV]

'I have never slept this good in my entire life...' I thought while keeping my eyes closed. "Ruby, you need to see this!" I heard Ava's voice right next to me.  I knew it was her, even though her voiced sounded a bit different compared to the rest of the time. "What is it?" I grumbled, not opening my eyes. "Ruby, where are you?" I hear Ava once again. 

"I'm right next to you genius" I opened my eyes and looked her right in the eyes. "No way!" she fell on her butt and looked at me in disbelieve. "Mind explain what is going on?" I asked her, but her eyes only got bigger. She pointed at me. "Is that... really you?" "You know I think now it's getting stupid" I said her, trying to convince her to stop whatever prank she was pulling right now. 

We looked at each other for a few seconds before I finally decided to stand up and promptly fell back on the ground. "Ouch!" As I wanted to stand up as normal, something seemed to stop me from doing so, like my center of balance had been relocated somewhere else. Ava started laughing, and I shot her a death glare. "OK, what's going on here?"

She reached out to me and pulled on my hand and positioned so that I could see it. "What are you doing? I know how my hand loooo. A PAW?!?" I shot up only to fall on my face once again, and I immediately started trying finding out what was going on here. My entire body became bigger and was covered in white scales.

"Wi... Wings?" I looked at the two giant appendages folded neatly against my back. "You look like freaking Toothless!" Ava laughed. "That's not funny!" I wanted to jump on her, but our friendly conversation was interrupted by a roar in the distance. "You know that didn't sound welcoming at all" I said to Ava.

I now finally noticed the place we were in. We were surrounded by trees and in the distance I could see a mountain. "Where are we?" Ava asked. "How long were you awake before me?" I asked her. "About 10 minutes.

"And you didn't notice we were in a forest instead of your bedroom?" I asked her. "What should I do? There was a freaking real dragon in front of me!" We looked at each other. The roar in the distance came once again. "I think we should go somewhere safe" Ava said and this time I had to agree with her. 

"Let's go!" She got back up on her feet and started walking. I stood up too, but fell back on my stomach. "Hey! Wait!" I called her back. "What is it?" She asked. "You don't have to walk on 4 legs, you know?" I growled at her. IT sounded pretty terrifying if I had to be honest, but Ava didn't rally care. 

I stood up once again. This time I managed to at least not collapse. Ava thought about something. "You know, that stupid exercise we did with our P.E teacher?" she asked me, "The pervert?" "Yes the pervert." The exercise was basically walking on all four. I tried doing that, but it still only hardly worked, my arms aren't as flexible as before anymore. 

"You're doing great" Ava said as she ran behind me. "What are you...?" I shivered as she touched the tip of my tail and lifted it off the ground. "Just continue walking, I don't want you to lose a tail fin by dragging it over something sharp, she said. As we continued walking, I slowly got better. 

At one point, I even was able to lift my tail myself, but it still felt wrong. "Do you see that cave over there?" Ava, who was walking next to me, pointed at a small cave entrance. "I just hope it isn't occupied already" "Pessimist!" She walked inside and I followed her. "My legs are jelly!" I lied back down, still inspecting my body. 

As we both sat on the floor of the cave, we looked at each other and said at the same time: "So, what the fuck happened?" We were silent for a few seconds before she said: "Maybe we are in..." "Yes" I said shortly. "Wait...? You agree with me?" Ava asked in disbelieve. 

"I mean, I am a freaking dragon, there is something else on this island which doesn't really sound normal, and I just have a feeling it's another dragon and I don't think this is the experiment of some crazy doctor"

Ava walked up to me and started to inspect me. "You really look like Toothless, but just... white" she inspected me further and then walked a few steps back. "You do look really cool, though." I gave her an annoyed look. "But why am I a dragon, and you are you?" Ava crossed her arms and looked at me.

"Of course miss, I don't want to be a dragon rider, I just want to have some dragon friends" she said sarcastically. "But I didn't mean it THAT way!" I protested. "And who said I wanted to become your dragon?" She turned her head to me. 'Ooops...' "My dragon?" she made the gesture of pulling her glasses down. "You know what I mean!" I said, and used my tail to knock her back on the ground. 

She grinned, "Maybe you socialize better with dragons than with humans" That was a hit to my introvert self. I did enjoy animal company over human company, but this was different. We sat there once more in silence. "So, what are we going to do now?" I asked her. She looked at me and then at my wings laying limp on the ground. "NO!"
