Chapter 4: Chapter 04: Progress and Ambush

Half a year has passed since my promotion to a Genin and me joining the medical corps of Konoha.

During this time the third Shinobi World War ended, however the peace between the villages was very fragile and one wrong move could start another war.

Minato also became the Hokage during this time and this made Kushina walk with a puffed up chest for nearly a week.

What did I do?

I spent most of this time studying, training, treating patients in the hospital and from time to time doing missions with the medical corps or ninja groups.

After joining the medical corps it took me nearly two months of studying and training till they let me deal with patients or go on missions with them.

High medical knowledge and flawless chakra control were their requirements. Thanks to my memories and Nono Yakushi who was assigned as my mentor the requirements were not a problem.

I was also glad to learn that the uniforms of the medical corps were not mandatory. I could wear normal clothes with a band on my right arm with the Konoha Medic Corps sign on it.

Even when I stood out of the group with it, it was better than wearing their clothes.

Missions were always conducted in the land of fire, mostly treating and helping people or dealing with bandits or wild animals. Some animals in this world possess chakra and grow larger than normal and attack people and small villages.

After I got money for missions and worked in the hospital, I rented a small apartment near the house of Kushina and Minato.

I still spent most evenings at their house and ate dinner with them.

In my free time, I also worked on my Kekkei Genkai and now I'm able to open a ROOM within a hundred meters radius if I really push it.

I also learned nearly all the other techniques that Law could use.

Amputate was the same as in One Piece and made me one of the most sought-after medical ninja in Konoha. This is because I could use it to cut open a person and then use the medical jutsus directly on the parts they are needed on.

While Scan was much more advanced then in the manga or anime. I could analyse people and objects in my ROOM completely as soon as they entered it even without using some movements like Law did. That also meant that I could use it to search for people like a sensor type Ninja if I wanted to.

The analysis gave me a lot of information about the items or people, such as components or defects or injuries.

It is also possible to analyze Fuinjutsu with it and it would tell me what its components are. This would allow me to break seals or unseal stuff in the future. I have no talent for creating seals, but breaking them is another matter altogether.

Although Injection Shot wasn't very difficult to learn, it was a bit different than in the anime. I could use it from anywhere in the ROOM without touching anyone.

Once I make a thrust motion with my sword, the thrust's energy transports to the spot I have aimed at, as long as it is within my room. Penetrating everything in its path, it deals real damage unlike Amputate.

Counter Shocks, Radio Knife and Gamma Knife are basically Raiton jutsus and for some reason converting chakra into electricity was much easier in the ROOM than outside. Maybe because I could feel the chakra more there.

Counter Shock is a Taser and I need to touch someone to use it.

Radio Knife infuses my Katana with Raiton chakra. The only disadvantage is that, if I want to combine it with Amputate, I need to attack the opponent in close combat.

Gamma Knife looks like a chidori variant. I create something like a lightning knife in my hand and then I can stab something with it. Contrary to Chidori, it doesn't pierce the target with the stab, but instead destroys it from within with high voltage.

Mes and Curtain were the only things I couldn't master yet.

While I could remove a heart in my ROOM by using a scalpel and Amputate for example, I couldn't hit it out of the body like Law did.

Since my ROOM was fixed in the area where it was created and I couldn't move it around without closing it the person would die, if I or the person left the ROOM.

I could also only create one ROOM at the same time and because of this I couldn't create a ROOM for the heart. At least not at the moment... and Curtain is a dense chakra curtain and I haven't been able to harden my chakra yet.

The only thing I couldn't do was fight real ninjas in a life-and-death battle, but I'm also not eager to do so.

After returning from another wild animal elimination mission with Shikaku, Ibiki, and Hayate, I reported back to Minato. Now I was walking home to relax and to maintain my equipment.

Speaking of it, for most of the mission I was wearing the Shinobi sandals, some cargo pants and a T-shirt or Sweatshirt with rolled up sleeves and some fingerless gloves to keep my grip on my sword.

I still used my Katana, which was strapped to my back.

Also on my back attached to my belt, I wore a ninja pouch where I kept scalpels and bandages and other medical stuff and my Konoha Medic Corps band.

Like most Ninjas, I wear leg bandages to keep my pants hem in check and stop stuff falling into my sandals.

A strange feeling brought me out of my thoughts. Then I noticed that someone was following me. Since they didn't attack me, I went to a nearby park to see who was after me.

After picking up some pebbles and tossing them in front of me, I activated my ROOM fifty meters around me. My Scan told me it was a group of three men.

They fled when they saw my ROOM, but I shambled them with the pebbles and they appeared in front of me. My eyes then widened when I looked at the men that were wearing anbu outfits with green oni masks.

They were the same people who attacked me when I was reborn in this world!
