Chapter 29: I am glad!

"I'm back". I said as I entered the house at nearly half past 9. I was a little surprised since Tsubaki never texted me in day time but after 8 her messages started pouring down. I wasn't able to pick up her call since I was on a crowded train so I just texted her back.

I was in a little distress about her mood, however, upon seeing her right now my previous worries vanished in an instant...

" Welcome back Kazu kun. Do you want to have a bath, dinner, or maybe you want to ha~ve me?" She giggled mischievously with her ears taint red. She had her night pajamas on with a pink apron camouflage with her pajamas. Her hair was neatly tied in a ponytail and the light blush on her fluff cheeks made her look irresistible adorable.

Leaving her teasing remark for the later period I threw my shoes and after putting the paper bag and school bag on the shoe rack, I dashed toward Tsubaki who became baffled because of my sudden movement.

Reaching to my favorite warmth, I eagerly wrapped my arm around her thin waist and hugged her tightly. 

"Yokatta. I am glad that you aren't angry". I whispered in relief as I felt my body relaxing in an instant as soon it interacted with Tsubaki's supple body.

She didn't move for half a minute as I continued indulging in her. I felt her arms rounding on my back as she reciprocated my embrace quite meekly.

" Well, I was, a little. But I have started reflecting on the way I think and behave. But it doesn't mean you can leave me alone every time alright? I also feel lonely you know." My mind went blank a little as she spoke in a spoiled tone and clung to me even more closely.

'What is this creature. How can she be this cute? Isn't she illegally sweet?' Collecting myself I spoke...

"I will remember that". We stayed like that for a couple of minutes before walking toward the dining space. I didn't have the stomach to change my uniform so after a quick wash I sat at the table opposite Tsubaki.

Today she prepared hamburger steak which looked so juicy and tender at the same time, which made me salivate a little. However, I held my composure as I didn't want to look like an idiot in front of Tsubaki.

" Okay then. Itadakimasu~" She also followed my lead as we started eating.

"Hamm~" The first bite was extremely delicious which made my heart melt. The richness of seasoning and the perfectly cooked meat was so unreal that I end up thinking of it as a restaurant made.

'Eh? Nani? Nani? Why are you making those sounds Kazu kun? Is it that tasty? ' I gulped hard without a single chunk of food inside my mouth. The way Kazu kun made that sound was so....sexy that involuntarily my steak dropped from my chopstick and I end up eating fresh air. And while staring at unusual Kazu kun, I even started chewing absolutely nothing.

It was too hard to miss this side of Kazu kun so I aimlessly poked my chopstick and at in silence while enjoying my view. I never imagined that the dish which I prepared in a haste could make my Kazu kun swoon so much.

'I will add it to my list'.

After the meal, I still couldn't realize the taste of the food however, I had my fill up to the limit. 

We ate brownies which Kazu kun lied about. It was cute to watch how flustered Kazu kun became when he tried to lie and I teased him even more. In the end, I didn't pry in the matter more than necessary.

Like yesterday, he picked the dishes and I also didn't retort because like that he would feel like, he wasn't part of the family. 

He washed the dished carefully and neatly as I dried them up. We were like a married couple and I totally like the way things were.

[A/N: And here she raised a flag]

"The dinner was outstanding as always but today I felt a little more elated and my heart racing as I ate. Maybe I was a little too hungry but it doesn't change the fact that you are a fantastic cook". Smiling at me with a brief pause Kazu kun returned washing dishes.

" Thank you Kazu kun. I am glad my food could meet your taste. It's like the best reward for the learning I have gone through until now". I said with a smile which made his hands pause again but this time he didn't continue.

"Kazu kun?" I tilted my head to meet his gaze when he abruptly broke his gaze and looked down toward the sink.

The silence passed between us for quite some time, I didn't know why?

"Tsubaki." I held me breathe as I heard his a little tensed tone. 

I totally dislike this kind of atmosphere, it makes me think that something bad would happen.

"Y-yeah?" Nervously I asked.

"I was wondering for a while but can you tell me how do you fell in love with me?" I sighed in relief before he continued to speak as he passed the last dish toward me.

"Well, I am lucky to have you by my side, and being loved by such a perfect girl seems still unbelievable to me but when I think about it, I never did something to make you attracted to me. " He turned and faced me as he completed his words.

I also turned toward him as I leaned toward the slab.

I asked something on the spur and looking at her unsettled expression, I thought it wasn't a good idea at all.

With a heavy exhale she began to talk.

"To be honest there are various things or to say almost everything about you which I find lovable. The way you show generosity to even strangers and never back down from your duties. The way you keep pushing yourself whether it's sports or studies, I like that fact about you. The way you practice baseball even no one is looking or there to praise you, always leaves me in awe and amazement. Well, of course, I like your looks too but genuinely your inside is something that made me head over heels for you." She said in one go but for some reason, she didn't match my gaze as she spoke. I felt her words were honest but deep down she was hiding something...

"Tsubaki. It's not all, right? There is something you don't want me to know?" She shot up her head with her eyes a little wide. She stared at me for quite some time before she responded.

"I think I will need time to confess that part of my affection toward you." She lowered her gaze elegantly as she spoke with her ears started to change their color.

"Okay, I will wait."

A/N: I assure you there won't be lengthy drama in my novel. Well, some spices would be good before the confession, right?
