Chapter 33: Reality ~2!

'Uh. I am still sleepy'. I rubbed my eyes as I groggily woke up. I checked the time and it was already 7.46. Generally, I would have panicked to see the time and would have rushed toward school, but the note beside the digital clock made me relax.

[I have informed the school that we both are taking leave today so sleep plentiful Kazu kun♡] 

A natural smile formed on my face upon reading the sweet note when the memories of last night flashed in my mind. Yesterday, was truly one of the notable days of my life. Various things happened, which made me realize what I never knew before.

I knew she was kind of extra obsessive toward me but the previous day, I concluded that she was a true yandere. 

I never had imagined that Tsubaki could talk like that or make that kind of expression. I still felt my goosebumps rising as I recalled her emotionless eyes when she spoke about those students. 

But looking back, it was all for me so I don't know how should I react. I mean, I can't live without her even I try to so part away from her is a total no-go. However, I couldn't let this side of her take over again because I didnt know how I would feel.

Last night, I somehow convinced her to release that students and hand them to the local authority, but what about next time. This time I asked so she told me, but what if I don't ask in the future. 

'No, I have to handle this.' Resolving myself I got up from the bed. Since I wasn't able to catch much sleep last night, my body was still a little sore. 

Stretching a bit, I walked out of the room. Yawning, I smelt something burning. I leaped instantly, toward the kitchen and found Tsubaki standing in a frozen state by the slab with a stirring spoon in hand. I dashed and after putting out the fire, I switched on the instant ventilation. Since there wasn't smoke enough, the fire alarm didnt go off.

I looked toward Tsubaki with a frown and saw her still dazed aimlessly. Her eyes had under bags with redness spreaded like mascara. 

"Kayo." I shook her lightly as she jolted and returned.

"Eh? Kazu kun. Did you wake up? Ah wait...no...no I burnt the breakfast". She started panicking but looking at her I couldn't help but feel miserable.

I inhaled deeply before holding her arm a little more roughly to make her calm down and it seems that it worked.

" Tsubaki. Let's talk". She nodded wordlessly.

After brewing a cup of coffee, and giving her a cup of warm milk which could help her relieve fatigue, we both sat face to face on the couch. I told her to drink the milk first as she was reluctant to feed on anything at the moment. However, while sulking she finished it.

"What happened to you?" I asked in a firm tone. No stiffness,  no anger, no sorrow. Just in a concerned way.

"Um. Nothing I am fine". She gave me a fake smile as she closed her tired eyes.

" Did you sleep last night". She paused and after a moment shook her head.

I sighed and continue.

"But you know what? I had a great sleep. Sorry for being selfish here but I was able to sleep even after all that, you know why?" It seem that it took her time to register my words as she shook her head again after half a minute.

"Because I knew that you were beside me. I know it will sound kinda weird but around you, I feel relaxed. I know what you did in the past and what you were going to do today, was a plain blunder, however..." Her body stiffened as she heard me, with her eyes going teary again.

".... I can't leave you after all. Even I want and even I can, I won't Tsubaki. This realization kept me awake last night for quite a while however, this same fact helped me calm my mind. I mean, I don't want to get abandoned again, but it also doesn't mean that I will leave a person who loves me so much. So whatever happened Tsubaki, let's grave them in the past. " Tears rolled down her chubby cute cheeks as she started sniffing in silence. However, this time she had a genuine smile on her face.

She crawled her hand meekly toward mine and soon got a grip on it.

"Th-thank you Kazu kun. " She said as she brought our connected hand toward her slightly damp cheek.

I wiped her tears very carefully to not give her a rash, as her milky skin looked delicate. After wiping her tears, I started caressing her cheek as she leaned her face toward my hand with her eyes growing smaller and smaller. I pulled her in my arm as I laid back on the couch with Tsubaki partially on top of me.

Smoothly running my fingers through her raven hairs, I started listening to her calm breathing. It didnt take her long to drift away in dreamland and looking at her calm expression my yawn also rose naturally, as I also departed for another round of comfortable sleep.

'Huh'. I suddenly woke up and found myself sleeping in unusual surroundings. It took me time ro register but looking down I found myself covered with a blanket despite Tsubaki. I checked the time and it was mid-noon. I was startled to realize how many hours I slept even it seemed such a short period.

I stretched again and walked toward the kitchen only to find a jolly mood Tsubaki cooking something delicious.

"Oh. Good morning Kazu kun. Sorry I wasn't able to greet you before". She smiled at me as I got lost in her for a second. Before I  went to sleep she was torn and now she was lively as sunshine. I sighed and walked toward the table after greeting her back.

" How you always wake earlier than me". I asked as I planted my chin on my palm further down on the table.

"Mm? Maybe my biological cycle helps me to see your cute sleeping face every day." Now I was more embarrassed.

'I hope I don't snore in sleep'.  

Soon Tsubaki brought our brunch to the table. My stomach was screaming in hunger and looking at the meal, I almost started drooling.

"Don't wait Kazu kun. Dig in". As she said I clasped my hand and thanking, I started devouring the master class dishes.

Today, she prepared Chinese dishes, again showing how talented she was in culinary.

However, except for fried rice, I wasn't able to tell what the other dish was. The chicken dish had a lot of spices and balanced sauce giving a ting to my taste buds and on the other side was shrimps mixed with lots of garlic. Both main dishes were balancing each other out and giving me a whole other level of thrill at the same time. I ate three servings worth of at least two people before my mouth came to a halt.

" It was epic Tsubaki. I never had something like this. Truly delicious ". I said what I truly felt. I was sure that I would get addicted if I eat that food again. 

" Thank you Kazu kun. I told you, there are various dishes you can look forward to".

We chatted for some minutes leisurely when I recalled something. "Tsubaki, I have to go so, if you want me something to buy on my way back, then text me ". She frowned immediately.

" But why do you want to do part-time? I already have given you the card right. And the money on that card is yours too. You don't have to struggle especially when you are injured". As yes, she knows. Yesterday I realized that she had a tracker on my phone so naturally, she knew about me working in the cafè.

"It's not about money. I want to improve my interactive skills you know. " I held her hand while hoping that she doesn't drag the matter on more and I end up quitting another job.

Fortunately, she agreed...

"Okay then, I will also go with you. I have work too so I will just do it there. Let's do that."

......with a slight change in plan, of course.

A/N: And the drama ends. Phew..it tires me out while writing these kinds of scenarios, however, my finger runs specifically fast too while I am at it.
