Chapter 51: Guests!

"Isn't this house too big for two people"?
" I know." I led the couple inside the house as they marveled at the scene just like I did when I first walked in. The look of fascination in their eyes showed how easy my life Tsubaki has made.

Tsubaki was taking a shower as she felt sticky all over after we cuddled for quite some time on the couch. I led Kunimi and Sayo-san toward the living room, as they plopped down on the couch a little awkwardly.

"Relax man. You don't have to be stiff. Except for the four of us no one lives here". I tried to help them feel comfortable which didnt quite worked.

" So what happened in the school?" I asked while I dragged the bean bag and sat across them.

"Nothing much. Same old, but yeah, notice about the first term dropped today". My body stiffened all of a sudden. Due to various things going on recently, I forgot that the term exam would be taken in April, just some days after the league.

" Kazuya kun looks more miserable than you baby". Sayo san giggled as she leaned toward Kunimi. Her reaction was legit as I and Kunimi both had not a very good relationship with textbooks. Other people have weaknesses in one or two subjects but we both were strong in only one, which was sadly P.ed.

"I might renew my library pass". I muttered when suddenly an overwhelming familiar scent reached my senses. Without glancing I knew that Tsubaki was coming toward us.

She had an oversized T with body-fit trousers. She looked extremely beautiful with her face a little flushed because of a hot bath. Her hairs looked glossy as ever which were now free fallen on her back.

" Hey". She waved at Kunimi and Sayo-san before she glance all around. It seemed she wasn't able to find a place to sit, so in the end, she landed on my lap. I was startled for a second but nestled her comfortably between my arms and hugged her lightly. Her hair was a little damp with her overall sweet fragrance made me utterly delighted.

"Did you finish the juice?" I asked in a low tone to which she nodded with a cute smile.

"Medicine?" Making a bitter face she shook her head.

"Tsubaki....wait I will bring it". As soon I tried to lift her, she grabbed my arm and shook her head again in protest. Sighing I accepted my defeat, I rubbed her head a little roughly.

" I will thoroughly punish you remember that".
"Hehe~" With a giggle, she leaned back on my chest. Completely relaxed.

Shaking my head in amusement I directed my gaze toward the two people sitting across from us. Kunimi was fake vomiting and Sayo san was smiling with her face covered in a tinge of redness.

"Will you stop it? It looks gross." On my remark, Kunimi sighed like something terrible ended.

The room wasn't much awkward as before as we chatted normally about the school and stuff. Sayo san asked several times about Tsubaki's health. It was quite surprising that Sayo san was this much close to Tsubaki. When we were friends in the second year, they barely talked, and now looking at Sayo san it feels they were best friends or sort.

"A rumor of you guys has started circulating". Kunimi suddenly spouted something which brought the attention of the girls also.

" The way you guys have taken leave on the same days, twice students have been gossiping that you might be living together". My eyes became round in amazement. I never knew people were so nosy that they would pick on something general and conclude something so serious.
I mean two high schoolers in a living relationship was still a big deal, even we were in the 21st century.

"Well, let them talk whatever they want. The school doesn't have a rule against it so except for gossiping nothing would happen". I didnt have a problem with people knowing it and now since we have confirmed each other's feelings there was no point in hiding it at all.

" Aren't you too lax Kazu? Remember, the last time you held hand with Tsubaki san, what happened?" He had a point. People were crazy about the cute goddess currently fiddling on my lap. And when they would get assured about us cohabiting, I'm sure it would become hectic.

"Don't worry Kazu kun. I won't let anyone touch you, except for me". She said it lightly but knowing her other side, I was a little unsettled.

A series of silence fell upon us. It seemed Kunimi and Sayo san were also perplexed by her remark as they also shut their mouth.

" Oh yeah...I forgot our main topic. First-term. When is the exact date?" I asked to dodge the uneven silence.

"Ah... it's from 16th April. But good news. After exams, the festival preparation would start immediately. " I grinned deeply at the wonderful news. Festivals were something I wholeheartedly enjoy. Not because of lightning or cracker but only one thing.

Food stalls.

"I know that face. That perverted face whenever my baby thinks about something delicious. But whether this delicious is regarded for food or..." I instantly sobered up as well Kunimi as we looked spontaneously toward Sayo san who baselessly threw allegations at us.

The banter finally stopped as Tsubaki wiped her none existing sweat like she just prevented something horrible from happening.

I looked toward Kunimi with my previous expression. Utter bafflement.

Kunimi was making an expression of 'It's far beyond our understanding'. And I kinda relate to his aloofness on the matter.

"Ah, that reminds me. Kazu kun, you are weak in studies right?" Tsubaki asked as she clasped her hand together in fun.

"Don't speak like it's my virtue." I grabbed her belly more rigidly which made her giggle not guilty.

"That's not the point Kazu kun. I mean if you are weak in something I can help you improve it right?". Suddenly the doors of enlightenment opened for me as I realized with whom I was sitting.

" The all-time topper. The undefeatable. The ultimate student who never missed the first spot on the grade list. The great Tsubaki sama." It wasnt me who told this but Sayo san. I and Kunimi just nodded like foolish completely agreeing with what was told.

"Isn't it exaggerating especially on that ultimate part? Anyway, I can help you Kazu kun so leave it to me." The image of my sweet Kayo suddenly transformed into something more...majestic, as I felt my invisible tears dropping in her admiration.

After chatting for some more time we moved toward the dining space. Tsubaki planned to make pizzas for lunch. As she doesn't like ordered ones, she keeps all the ingredients at home.

Sayo san and Kunimi were talking as I helped Tsubaki in cooking...

"Ah, Kazu kun. Don't slice it. Dice it"
"Oh..k. But how should I do it..?"

....well not really.

After that, Tsubaki asked me to sit with the other two as she prepared everything in just half an hour and put the pizza inside the oven already.

"Wow, Tsu-chan. You sure are one hella wife. Unlike me. It's hard for us Kazuya kun". While sighing like an old man she dragged me into her category.

" Hey, hey. I do know how to make curry at least. And you still only know how to boil water properly". Kunimi was laughing all the time as Sayo san pouted and hid behind him.

The atmosphere was lively with our chatting and laughing sounds resounding in the house. Everything was going well until I received a particular text on my phone...
