My prolonged arrival inside the class finally came to an end as the prefect silently escorted me toward the room where the label of 1[A] was imprinted.

Standing in front of the door was me and the serious prefect, who still was looking at me a little warily, of reason

The door was closed with a small glass and number pad on the left side of it. Since the door was metallic and didn't seem to be operable with a quick slide, I was trying to figure out what I should do next.

Thankfully the prefect was graceful enough not to let me get embarrassed any further.

"Students' biometric authentication is required to enter the class, which also works as attendance. Since it's your first day, type your ledger number in the panel and record your thumbprint in the system."

Her stoic voice gave a glint of annoyance which I could completely understand as something basic like this; I should have known already.

Thanking her with an awkward smile, I did as she asked and punched my ledger before the scanner took my biometric identity.

**Swish**

The door finally slid open before I stepped inside. Surprisingly there wasn't anyone on my back entering alongside, which made it clear how busy the prefect actually was.

I shrugged the matter and focused my eyes inside the room, which made me freeze down a little.

Since I have studied in regular high school until now, I was used to hustling and chattered before attendance, but this classroom was in complete contradiction.

If my previous school was like a child's playground, then this classroom was like an adult's meeting room.

Completely silent and focused on their work.

Some people were chatting, but their tone was so low that I might not be able to hear even though I was standing in between them.

Gulping, I adjusted my sound, so I didn't create a ripple in this silent lake before I made my way to the vacant seat at the corner.

I wasn't told where to sit, so I took the liberty to acquire the seat, which possibly everyone knows as the 'Protagonist's Throne.

During my walk toward my seat, I was glanced at by many, which made my heart beat a little faster as it seemed I was getting evaluated, but the great Minami-san had given me training for these kinds of glances too, so I behaved normally.

There were a total of 20 seated in class, with 5 desks arranged in four rows. I took the first row and placed my bag just on the last desk.

The seat, by the look, seemed normal except for the fact that there was a digital notepad installed in place of a wooden desk. There was some free space, but it was only to put one of my arms on it.

I carefully arranged my bag on the hook which was protruded on the side of the desk before I planted my butt on the chair.

Keeping my hands off the notepad, I was about first to check my surrounding when an irritated tone called for me.

"Hey, you, are you still sleepy to take someone else's seat?"

Raising my eyes, I was met by a pair of emerald pairs of eyes which showed how fierce personality their owner carries. Her blonde hair was flown tied in twin tails giving her a childish yet elegant charm that I haven't come across in general.

The way she was glaring at me with her arm crossed, I concluded that I had made a mistake, so immediately, I got up before apologizing.

"I am sorry for being careless. You see, this is my first day here, so I don't know where I can find my desk."

I bowed with my eyes closed while keeping my tone in check, so I don't gather attention.

Standing up again not so long after, I saw the furious girl now a little startled and not only that, a little embarrassed too.

"O-oh, I see. Anyway, the panel of the teachers' works station displays every student's assigned seat. You can look over it."

She signaled in the direction where was a small cabinet probably for the teacher. I nodded in acknowledgment before I thanked the classmate.

"Thank you for the help." Taking out my bag carefully, I gave her space which she followed not so long after, and sat where I was sitting a moment ago.

'It's kinda lewd.'

Shaking my degenerate mind, I started walking toward the podium. Indeed there was a list of students displayed on the notepad, where one had to sit.

Running my eyes downwards, a wry smile formed on my lips as I figured out where I had to sit.

"Hello again."

I was just beside the protagonist's seat. My neighbor, with whom I didn't have much of a great start, just glanced at me before she opted for the student work pad.

I did have an idea of how to operate it, but since I didn't know what I should be doing, I just started observing her silently without letting my gaze become obvious.

Strangely she wasn't doing anything complex, she just opted for a notepad and started writing something big and bold...

'I can feel your eyes on me.'

I gulped upon reading the content before focusing my eyes on the front. I never knew someone could be so sensitive that my thin gaze could bother them.

'Ah...I feel like stupid even though it's just the first day....'

Finding nothing exclusive to do, I draped my head over the thin wooden desk while reprimanding myself for such a foolish act when suddenly I heard a slow stretching sound like the chair was abruptly pushed backward.

I glanced toward the front and found everyone stood up simultaneously. Not only that, but my neighbor was also standing up like others.

When the particular person with midnight hair came inside the class, then I came to realize why this sudden gesture was displayed.

""Good Morning, President""

Strangely everyone was greeting Akira like she was a teacher but not knowing what tradition they followed; I also stood up and bowed slightly.

Even for a second, I thought Akira glanced in my direction before she made her way elegantly toward the front seat of the last row, by the window.

'She didn't check the list...well, she must have been informed...'

Sighing, I sat back on my desk like others with my eyes still lingering on the back of the girl who seemed far from my reach all of a sudden.

Akira was famous; that's what I already figured without coming into the school, given her intelligence and looks but seeing her now, it seemed she lived in a world of which I wasn't even aware; involving myself was still far from my reach.

Sighing, I threw the demotivating thoughts of mine and settled down cozily on my seat.

Soon the others also came inside, filling up the vacant seats, which included the arrogant blondie whom Akira shooed away in the hallway.

Upon coming inside, he didn't have the same temperament he threw at me some minutes ago, more like he became the perfect gentleman in front of the class. If not for our previous encounter, I would have been swept by his superficial attitude.

Sweeping my glance in the class again, I found everyone was seated accordingly with their focus on the pads except for me.

Since I wasn't sure what I should be performing on the device, I chose to stare at nothingness while enjoying the feeling of being a complete idiot.

But my neighbor was kind enough not to let me suffer...

"If you opt-in to the module tab on the main screen, it would show the subjects today we would be following and the content on which our class would focus."

I heard her intently, and after she finished, I nodded, even though she wasn't looking at me and was moving her fingers on the screen all this time.

As she said, I opted into the system and tapped on the icon, which was named 'Module&Courses,' before a whole lot of information about the classes which would be followed today, was dropped down.

To be honest, seeing so much detailed information provided even before the class and not talking about the actual classes, made my mind a little dizzy.

Some weeks ago, I was a typical student who did what every average student did in their high school life and asked for nothing more from what I was receiving.

But looking at the class right in front, these techs, elite students spread all around, was slightly scaring me about the one year I would be spending here.

'It will get heavier if I contemplate.."

Shaking my head, I shooed off the useless thoughts and focused on the thing I had to pay attention to. Whatever happens now would be my effort, and since this experience would only last for less than 12 months, I would do my utmost to live it to the fullest.

It was around 1 when all the classes concluded without many events as only the introduction of every subject was taught by the teachers.

Apart from the way they fluently taught everything in a way that I could understand somehow, what amazed me was the sense of style every teacher had.

Even the old man sensei who taught us Maths was wearing a three-piece suit and was looking like a gentleman gramps from a specific movie.

Since Akira had already left for her council work and I didn't have any way to follow her since this early in the semester, I was arranging my things and was planning to go for a walk around, when someone suddenly tapped on my desk.

"Hey, you new here, right?"

Stood there were two of the students whom I saw this morning sitting in the first row of the class. In the morning, they didn't bat an eye, and now they came to meet in person?

Weird.

"Yeah, I just joined the school this year."

I answered honestly as I fixed my bag and stood in front of both of them as I heard one of them saying...

"So let's go. We are celebrating the freshers party in the gym; you should also join."

Yeah, indeed weird.
