"Okay, Julia, I need you to calm down and to listen to what we have to say." Miguel said slowly as he figured out the best route to getting Julia to understand the situation.
"Alright, I'll listen." Julia nodded slowly as her eyes followed Miguel as he stood next to her.
"A few months ago you went to Europe in search of your ex-husband, well technically you are still both married since there was no annulment or divorce." Adrianna explained for Miguel. "We know some parts because you told us and others because we investigated it."
"You said he was alive? How did you even find him?" Julia asked in disbelief.
"Well, when you left a new threat emerged in the form of a rival businessman for Cedric and he claimed to be a member of the Chan family." Adrianna tried her best to keep the story short, she knew that Julia would have many questions. "His name now is Lucius Ting."
Julia slowly nodded as she listened to Adrianna's words.
"While you were in Spain you were kidnapped by the Esteves family." At that revelation Julia gasped, she knew exactly who they were.
"Don't worry, Cedric negotiated your release then you passed out in the airplane and secondary tests showed us that you were poisoned." Adrianna told Julia.
"If I was poisoned then why don't I remember the past few months?" Julia asked as she sobbed into her hands.
Adrianna slowly patted her back as she nodded for Miguel to step in and explain.
"The poison they gave you had some side effects, I feel like these might be the ones they were really trying to achieve, and one of them is amnesia." Miguel explained as Julia lifted her head and looked at the doctor as if he were crazy.
"Things like these don't happen in ordinary life." Julia said in disbelief.
"Julia, I've come to learn that neither of us live ordinary lives." Adrianna chuckled.
"So I was kidnapped and my ex is alive. Anything else?" Julia asked, to which Adrianna slowly nodded.
"Julia, I know how brutal he was to you, and I know that you escaped him." Adrianna tried to talk to Julia in a soothing way as not to make her friend panic.
"It was the best and worst years of my life." Julia confessed as a tear rolled down her cheek.
Adrianna nodded as she understood what Julia meant. This was not the first time her friend had said this, she had mentioned that line multiple times over their many phone calls as Adrianna and Cedric tried to get her away from the Estevez family.
"My father gave my son away, then he died." Julia was now crying even more, as she re-lived the pain she had buried deep down.
"He isn't dead." Miguel said, catching Adrianna off guard.
This was not part of their plan, it seemed that Miguel was following his gut on this matter and telling Julia about Dominic.
"What do you mean? Dad said he died in that school where he was sent for adoption!" Julia shouted, she was now slowly coming undone.
Miguel was giving her hope, the kind of hope she didn't want to have.
"He didn't, he lived and he's been adopted by a new family." Miguel explained as he withheld the fact that the person that had adopted Dominic was himself and his wife.
Julia broke down again in tears as she heard the news. Adrianna wasn't sure if it was tears of joy or sadness, all she could do was to hold on to her friend as she cried.
"Are they a good family?" Julia asked Adrianna and Miguel.
"They love him as if he were their own and he loves them." Adrianna said with a reassuring nod.
"If he is safe and happy then I am happy for my son." Julia said, much to Adrianna's surprise. She had expected her friend to beg to know where her son was or at least to see him.
"Julia, your husband knows that you are back and we need your help to lure him out." Adrianna said as she held her breath waiting for Julia's response.
"Adri, I told you what he did to me, didn't I?!" Julia said quite angrily this time. "And now you want to use me as bait?"
"Julia, you don't understand what's happening, this is bigger than you or me." Adrianna said as she tried to reason with her friend.
"I just woke up to find out that both my husband and son are alive." Julia murmured. "Now you want me to face the man that has been in my nightmares since I first came back? The man that left me a shell of a human?"
Adrianna was speechless. She couldn't remember the last time Julia had been this open to her or this angry.
"Adri, maybe we need to let Julia absorb all of this first?" Miguel suggested as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "This kind of stress is not good for the babies."
Adrianna sighed and nodded knowing that Miguel was right.
They needed to give Julia space to get her to understand. She had been way too straight forward with her approach.
"I invited someone to come over, Julia." Adrianna announced, hoping that it could make her friend a little bit happier.
"If you were not aware, it won't make me happy to see Ramon Abad and that model of a girlfriend of his." Julia said Ram's name as if it were poison on her lips.
Adrianna frowned at how much Julia disliked Francesca, she actually liked the woman. She was very kind and very down to earth.
"It's neither of them." Adiranna said calmly. "Jonathan is on his way, he's really worried about you."
She watched as Julia's eyes lit up, happy to hear that her younger brother was on his way.
"We'll let you rest." Miguel said as he guided Adrianna out of the room, worried that Julia might say something that would upset his friend's wife.
"Julia, please eat. I know those are your favorites." Adrianna called out as they exited the room, a little bit disappointed with how things went.
