With Max’s injuries healed and mentally exhausted from the previous fight he collapses on the floor. A gentle breeze stirs him from reflection. He approaches the casually circling Whitey. “Hey Whitey, I should have asked you this earlier but do you want to come on more adventure like we have had?” Whitey turns her head in confusion cutely but after a few seconds, she nods and barks. ‘I guess that means yes.’ He inspects the underwater harpoon gun he received, it has a strap that he can loop around his shoulder and goes under the other arm.
[Underwater Harpoon gun : uses Magic to fire pointed metal rods.]
‘Say, System why does it seem like I can use magic endlessly? Don’t I have a mana capacity or something?’
[You are correct in assuming that you can use mana endlessly, the system has gifted you this ability. While the other inhabitants of this world have a limited capacity for magic use, you do not.]
‘Other inhabitants? This world?’
[You have been transported to a new world called Terra, filled with many fantasy races you might be familiar with, like beast-kin, elves, orcs, and more.]
‘Can you tell me how close I am to other people?’
[The System will mark the closest settlement on your Map, it is about a five day travel by boat from here]
[Map unlocked by System]
On his new blue Interface Max looks over the map. The places he has been in color and the rest grayed out. A white house icon is highlighted and blinking on the screen. It reads “Mer-People Settlement”.
‘Hey system, will I be able to speak their language?’
[The System has gifted Universal Translator Skill]
‘Well I’d rather not swim all the way there but maybe it wouldn’t be so bad with all my Skills. I should try the dungeon a couple more times, it might be different with my harpoon gun’

Running the dungeon with the harpoon gun and Whitey was slightly different, with two fish in each room before the boss. With his new harpoon gun and Healing Magic they tore through multiple dungeons. Whitey had a grudge against the Octopus Boss, taking her sweet time to chew on its corpse. He receives a large amount of raw fish and raw octopus as the sun sets. Deciding that they will make their way towards the settlement through swimming tomorrow, he lays his head down to sleep.
[Level up, 10 -> 15]
Woken up by the gentle lapping of the waves, Max feeds Whitey and they begin their trek. Miscalculating just how fast they travel in water, they close in on the settlement at midday. Slowing down when they get close enough to see. The islands are surrounded by a beautiful coral reef and entrancing cyan water. The islands are dotted with palm trees on the shore and green vegetation towards the center. Approaching the islands, he can see huts built on the beaches with some half submerged. The houses look well built, made of thatched wood and compacted sand, with shells to decorate.
Max tells Whitey to stay away while he swims towards a small rowboat. The fisherman snores loudly with a straw hat covering most of his face. When Max yells next to his boat he wakes up with a shock.
“Hey!”
“Wha- Who’s there!” The fisherman exclaims, pushing his hat up and looking around frantically. Spotting Max he squints suspiciously. The mer-person has mostly human features with pointed fin shaped ears and gills on the side of his neck. He reaches out his webbed hand and grabs the spear, pointing it at Max.
“Who are you and what are you doing here?” The fisherman asks directly.
“My name Max and I’m human, I stumbled upon this village and was hoping to have a look around?” He asks nervously.
“I can see that you're a human, Boy. Now how did you end up in the middle of the ocean with no boat and you speak our language? Fishy! Keep those hands away from that harpoon gun as well!” The wrinkles around his slightly green face deepen. His long gray hair flutters dangerously in the wind.
“I don’t know! I’m trying to figure that out myself!” Max yells exasperatedly.
The mer-person eyes become a thin line, staring at him for several seconds, before sighing dramatically. “Okay hop in, but you gotta hand over that weapon of yours”. With the spear still pointed at him, Max climbs into the boat and hands over the harpoon gun. The mer-person points to the bench across from him with the spear and they sit down facing each other. Satisfied the mer-person holds the spear with the butt end on the ground. “The name is Zale, and I used to be the Chief of this here village before I retired”. He says proudly and his chest slightly puffs out. “Now we will head to the village, so get to rowing Max!” He chuckles heartily.
