Chapter 5: Alone again

(The next day)

(Zoya's POV)

I woke up and enjoyed the sound of running water with closed eyes. The sun warmed my body and I expected to hear Skyshot threatening me to wake up or else hit me with  her tail again. But it never happened.

I opened my eyes and looked around realizing that Skyshot already started her journey to the nest. Somehow I felt lonely even though I knew Skyshot only for about three days I've still gotten used to her company.

My stomach grumbled and I made my way over to the lake so I could satisfy my hunger.

(Hiccup's POV)

"Good morning bud" I said as Toothless ran up to me. Together we walked to the arena where we met the others. Fishlegs stood Infront of a wooden board on which a map hung. He waited for my signal.

"As you know Dagur tried to capture some dragons not far from here. Hiccup and Toothless managed to free the dragons and brought back this map" Fishlegs pointed to the wooden board. "On this map we can see a row of rock formations which leads to the secret island."

"Astrid interrupted Fishlegs. "Oh I asked Gothi about the text on the bottom of the map but she wasn't able to read it either"

"Thanks Astrid" Fishlegs said clearly not happy about her interrupting his mission briefing and continued. "We don't know what is on that Island but Dagur searched for it so whatever it is we need to find it before he does.

After that we walked out of the arena and I assigned different tasks. "Toothless and I will fly north, Fishlegs you will fly west Astrid east," then I looked at the twins who were busy with their third staring competition this day. "You two... just don't destroy anything and Snotlout you and Hookfang will fly south."

(Astrid's POV)

"Let's go Stormfly" I said and she took off. While Stormfly flew east I looked at the note Hiccup gave me. On it there were hand drawn pictures of the rock formations we were searching for.

"I wonder what we'll find there." After an hour of flying I saw something that looked like the first one. /\.

Stormfly fle right through the hole. "That's not good" I said as I saw how we approached black clouds. The wid got stronger and strnger while it slowly started to rain.

While I was worried Stormfly flew through the second formation. I was already completely ssoaked from the rain. "I think we should fly back" I said and stormfly looked happy about finally getting out of this shitweather.

We mad a sharp 180 degree turn "Shit" I lost the note with the images of the rock formations but It wasn't that bad because the others had also copies. "Suddenly Stormfly started to make strange sounds. I guessed she wanted to say me something but I found out soon enough.

A strong gust of wind surprised me and I fell of Stormfly's back. She imideately started to fly towards me trying to help me bot she was blown away by the wind so far that I couln't see her anymore. An then my body hit the water.

(Zoya's POV)

"I wish I could lie on my couch and eat some raw fish" I thougth. For some reason the first what came to my mind when I thought of food or snacks always was raw fish. But I have to admit that stoff tastes delicios.

I warped my wings around myslef trying to keep me warm. I only found a small cave to hide in but the cold wind blew directely into the cave and water was running on the floor so it wasn't really comfortable.

My ear flinched. "What what is that" in the distance I could hear the sounds of a dragon and a girl screaming. I ignored the rain and jumped out of the cave and on the nearest rock I could find. I was able to see pretty well even though it was already dark and raining.

I saw a dragon that looked a bit like Skyshot. Something fell off the dragons back. The dragon tried to save it but was blown away by the wind. "Was that Skyshot" I started running towards the thing that fell down.

I didn't fly because even I knew that that would be suicide in that kind of weather. After five minutes I arrived at a beach. "This place must be beautiful it the weather was better." I thought while looking around.

I saw a human body lying on the beach like a washed up plastic bag I rushed to the human. "Is that Astrid?!?!" The girl lying in the sand looked like a 1:1 copy of her. "If she stays here she'll die. And Hiccups lover isn't supposed to die" I thought.

Without thinking about what consequences this could have I retracted my teeth and dragged her to a big tree where the floor was kind of dry. Then I lied down next to her and spread my left wing over her to protect her from wind and the rain. "I hope you wake up again" I said to her.
