Chapter 47: Chapter 46: R2 – Second Prologue Part 3

Hours later, the group went to the docks to a private location where the Irish mob had set up. The Irish had a boss present named Jimmy Spillane who showed up with their duelist. Their numbers were less than the mobsters of the Cirillo Family. This was without counting the men brought by the Ocean Dragon Triads.

In the front Jimmy came out to talk. Dragon and Jade both stood in front of Romeo as he took a back seat. Jimmy walked forward with a thick cigar in between his lips, he was a short and fat man who kept a sardonic grin on his face. When he spoke he had a thick Irish accent, but he called out to Romeo instead of the two in front of him.

Jimmy: “Boy, you sure are a piece of work little Romeo! You coming here with the chinamen backin up yer ass. Man can’t even fight battles with his own people.” 

Dragon stepped forward and spoke with Jimmy in English. He resented being called in a disrespectful manner and didn’t like talking to the Irish Mobster who was rough with his words. With the mobster stood a girl of about fifteen years old, but she was well over six feet tall. She had muscle all over her body and rock hard abs. She wore a sports bra and tight exercise shorts that were green and plain. There was a light amount of sweat that sheened over her light skin. Red hair wildly flowed out of her head like a forest.

This was Nelliel.

Nelliel: “Is this the person who I have to fight?”

Jimmy: “Yea, this is the person. The son of the Great Dragon Head, the most POWERFUL man in the underworld. Pathetic he’s gonna be fighting’ a little girl like you.”

Jimmy mocked Dragon while talking to Nelliel. Jimmy glared over with a scowl. He puffed his cigar a few more times as Dragon frowned and brought out the contract.

Dragon: “The agreement is one fighter each, the contract will allow you to set up your own businesses on this turf peacefully for ten years if you win. After that you will have to renegotiate. If you lose then your entire gang leaves the country for ten years and will not return.”

Dragon kept the angry scowl as he spoke.

Jimmy: “Oh, tough guy eh? Thinking you can just fight and win and have no remorse over any of that shit!”

Nelliel: “Stop cursing or I won’t fight for you!”

Jimmy: “Alright, alright Nelliel, jeez… I’m just mocking them to throw ‘em off balance, ya know, posturing!”

Nelliel: “I trained a lot, I don’t need posturing to win.”

Nelliel herself had a slight Irish accent. Despite her size and strength, her youth showed itself through in her voice as she didn’t like the rougher words. She looked over at Dragon with a smile of anticipation for the fight.

Dragon walked forward and took out two copies of the scroll. Jimmy and Dragon pricked their finger and signed both with blood. A neutral party from one of the gangs that was not in the dispute signed as a witness to their Contract Duel. Each would select one fighter to fight possibly to the death or until one side gives up.

Dragon: “This girl is your representative?”

Nelliel: “I am.”

Dragon smiled and was going to step forward before a hand landed on his shoulder. It was Jade who had stopped him. Dragon turned to her questioningly.

Dragon: “What is it sister?”

Jade: “Let me fight her instead. She’s a young girl and I’m a woman. Let me teach her that the world isn’t that small.”

Dragon: “You better not lose. If you lose you’re better off dead.”

Jade: “You barely beat me in fights. I doubt she is stronger than you.”

Dragon stared at his sister for a few more moments then he stepped back letting her go on through. She wore clothing that covered her body that was skin tight for maneuverability as she matched up against the much taller Nelliel.

Nelliel: “Oh! I’ve never fought another girl before. This should be fun!”

Jade: “I don’t want to hurt you and a young girl like you shouldn’t be in a place like this.”

Nelliel: “Shut up! I’m strong enough to do what I want! I’ll take care of myself!”

Jade said nothing else as the both of them lined up in a ring facing each other. There was a referee that was in the center who gauged the two of them before explaining the rules.

Referee: “The rules of this fight are simple. If you are knocked unconscious, someone on your side must still call a forfeit or the fight will continue until death. If no one calls a forfeit, then death is the ultimate result.”

Nelliel smiled at the rules while Jade continued her icy glare. They raised their fists as the referee raised his arm up then pulled it down in between the two of them.

Referee: “Begin!”

The referee then quickly stepped back as to not get caught in a fight between two awakened fighters that were likely super human and the two girls dashed forward into each other with their fists out.

The first several exchanges were even, they hit back and forth with Nelliel having a slight advantage due to her longer reach and stronger arms. Despite only being fifteen and not fully developed, she was already stronger than Jade which startled her. The two continued to feel each other out as Dragon watched still with a scowl.

Romeo stood next to him with the fight out of his hands. He wanted to send Dino, but he had let the two siblings dictate the rules of the engagement since they were the stronger party in the alliance that had been formed ten years prior.

Nelliel smiled as the fighting and exchanges became more and more intense. Jade was finding it more difficult to keep up in the exchange of fists and legs. Dragon kept silent but even he realized that Jade did not have the advantage. There was more question on who this fifteen year old Irish girl was and how did she train to become so strong.

Romeo: “Dragon… can your sister win?”

Dragon: “If she doesn’t then she must die trying.”

Romeo: “You can’t be serious…”

Dragon: “I would have died trying.”

Romeo: “But she’s a girl—“

Dragon: “Quiet you weak man! Watch!”

Nelliel pushed Jade back bit by bit but Jade then looked over to the sidelines at her brother Dragon. When their eyes met Dragon gave a slight nod and so Jade looked over the Nelliel and took a deep breath. 

Nelliel: “Oh, you’re finally going to get serious?”

Jade: “I don’t want to kill you, but you’re skilled enough that I cannot show mercy or hold back.”

Nelliel: “Uncle Jimmy would rather I die than lose so you better not hold back. I want to take your best!”

Nelliel gave off a playful smile that did not seem to belong to the tense situation a fight of life and death would force. As Jade suddenly burst with a flurry of attacks it became a stalemate. The strikes with her hands caused her limbs to go blur to the naked eye as she attacked quickly and as hard as she could. Romeo watched as Jade performed the continued assault.

Nelliel began to look overwhelmed as she took the hits. Her muscular arms were up in a guard but she couldn’t do much else in the moment. Instead of flinching and running however, Nellie’s smile became brighter. Punches from Jade hit her stomach, hit her legs and her arms. Jade kept the onslaught going hit after hit, but Nelliel didn’t go down.

Romeo watched the flurry of attacks, and while he had seen stronger attacks from others he realized this was something that he couldn’t do himself. He wasn’t born to be an awakened fighter and he didn’t have the talent or skill. Even if he trained his entire life there would still be a wide gap in between, yet he watched in amazement as Jade was knocking Nelliel back.

Dragon: “Idiot sister! Stop!”

Dragon yelled loudly but no one said anything. Romeo didn’t understand as he watched Jade continue to attack with reckless abandon trying to force Nelliel to the ground. The hits kept coming but Nelliel kept defending happily.

Romeo: “Why does she need to stop? She’s winning?”

Dragon: “You really are a fool through and through. One day you will also die a fool.”

Romeo said nothing to the insult, he was used to it by now and no one in the room could hear it because everyone’s attention was focused on the fight. Jade kept pushing and Nelliel kept defending. It seemed like it wouldn’t be much longer until Jade won.

Dragon: “Now you will see the death of my sister.”

Dragon spoke ominous words with Romeo not understanding. As he looked back at the fight he saw that Jade was pushing harder and harder. The hits became faster… and then he noticed that Jade’s face became much redder. She held her breath as she attacked and the debt of oxygen was coming to be claimed.

The attacks suddenly stopped and Jade tried hard to catch her breath. Jade collapsed onto the ground unable to breath easily as she coughed while Nelliel was standing up with several scratches on her body but otherwise fine.

Nelliel: “Looks like it’s my turn to attack now.”

Nelliel rushed forward and hit Jade in the face causing her to tumble on the ground and into a nearby wall. Jade’s body hit the wall and some of the stone broke off leaving a crack while she squealed from the pain.

Jade fell to the ground and struggled to get up but couldn’t.

Romeo: “She lost, shouldn’t we call this off now? Jade can’t win.”

Dragon: “No! She disgraced the family. It is better she dies or father will not be able to handle it. Our family doesn’t tolerate failure. She offered to fight and underestimated her opponent, she should pay the consequences.”

Romeo: “You are really going to let her die?”

Dragon: “Yes. This is proof of her weakness.”

Nelliel walked forward and grabbed Jade by her hair with one arm and lifted her off the ground. Jade was desperately trying to catch her breath so she could go another round.

Nelliel: “You had me cornered until you stopped breathing. Didn’t anyone tell you the first rule of fighting is proper breathing? I learned that from some manuals from the countries you probably came from.”

Nelliel punched Jade in the stomach causing her to bundle into fetal position.

Nelliel: “She’s beaten so give up.”

The people from our camp stared at the fifteen year old girl with long and wild red hair. She stared back towering over most of the men in the room.

Nelliel: “I said give up. I don’t wanna kill her but if you force me too I will.”

No one moved as no one in the Ocean Triads would defy Dragon. Romeo stirred himself as he watched Nelliel beating down Jade. Each hit caused more pain and blood to come out but she was still hanging on regardless. Nelliel then looked towards them.

The young girl was like an unbeatable wall that couldn’t be walked over.

Nelliel: “Ya know she’s not seriously injured yet, but if this continues she will be.”

Jimmy: “Just kill her Nelliel, since they ain’t gonna give up. The brother will just throw away his sister over a loss which is a pathetic thing for their family. All the Triads are the same, they believe in this intangible honor over anything else. Pathetic.”

Dragon glared over at Jimmy but Romeo seeing that Nelliel was going to cause permanent damage couldn’t hold it in anymore. Romeo stepped forward.

Romeo: “Stop, we give up! We lose!”

Those words caused the Ocean Triad to go into an uproar but Dragon held them all back. He didn’t say anything as Nelliel then backed off.

Nelliel: “Then we win! We get to stay for ten years! Yay! You owe me meat tonight!”

The muscular arm of the girl pumped up into the air as she smiled in victory while the Triads collected the body of the the young woman. Romeo controlled himself and did not run up to her but Dragon glared at him as he walked off.

Dino: “I think we have ruined our alliance.”

Romeo: “I don’t care.”

Jimmy was laughing at everything that happened and poured himself a drink. He poured the liquor for several of the other men around him though Nelliel didn’t drink she was given snacks. Jimmy then called over to Romeo.

Jimmy: “Ten years Romeo. Ten years we’re gonna be here! Play nice with us or else the contract will force all the underworld to come after your family.”

Jimmy smiled as Romeo left with his guards.
