Picking Up The Rejected Heroine

Review: 7.6/10 from 11 ratings

I have always been the type of guy who avoids interfering with others. “If there’s a way I can avoid trouble, I’ll always take that route.”. I believe that meddling with others’ business will only lead to unnecessary trouble, costing me precious time.

Or at least, that’s what I thought in previous life.

That’s why, when I reincarnated into this world… The world of a manga I once read. Even in another world, I swore to keep the same philosophy as before. However, this decision of mine would be slowly broken because of a girl named Fujiwara Misaki, the childhood friend of I and the original main character of the world I currently live in.

When I found out I reincarnated into a manga world, I thought that I’d not alter anything, deciding to just play along with the story. So I could predict what will happen next, not having to worry about any of the effects my personal actions could cause. I committed to such a task, but a girl has made my resolve waver multiple times.

It’s the “Perfect Girl” Fujiwara Misaki, who’s in love with the Main protagonist of the manga. Having read the manga to the end, I already knew the hardships this character went through, which were ignored by many.

And now that I could witness it firsthand, her struggle, striving to be the perfect girl others want her to be. A feeling of melancholy filled within me until I realised I empathized with her. Her state is very similar to mine, before deciding for my own.

To make it worse, knowing that she’d get rejected by the only support she’s holding onto, as he slowly becomes like others in Misaki’s life… I hate it.

But I can’t do anything… I was powerless… until now.

All the events in the manga have ended. I can do what I want from now on. I was freed from the rules I, myself made.

I stared at the so called “Perfect Girl”, who’s currently sitting on the floor, sobbing, as she made a face, a face of someone who already gave up on life, someone with nothing else to lose. Someone with no hope...

I just can’t hold it anymore, It’s now time for me, the side character, to pick up the rejected heroine from the hole of sorrow she’s currently in, lifting her up with all my strength and bringing her to where she truly deserves to be.
