Chapter 22: Pokemon Dojo

Autumn: "The Ilse of Armour?" 

Leon: "Yes, it is a large island in the Galar region which is located off the east coast of mainland Galar, close to Spikemuth." 

Autumn: 'Interesting but the problem is.' 

Autumn: "Umm, the thing is I will be returning to Kanto after 3 days so if it takes too much time to reach that place then I might have to decline the offer." 

Leon: "What you are leaving already." 

Autumn: "Yes, I will have to return soon." 

Leon: "Well that's a bummer but you don't need to worry we can make it there if we take a Flying Taxi." 

Autumn: "Then what are we waiting for let's go." 

Leon: "Yeah let's go." 

With saying that both Autumn and Leon went outside where a Flying Taxi was waiting for them. 

Autumn: "How long will it take to reach the island?" 

Leon: "Roughly about 5 hours." 

Autumn: "Then let's go." 

Autumn boarded the flying taxi along with Leon and they were off. The ride was quite fun, to say the least, the beautiful scenery of Galar was quite a good sight to behold. All the different Pokemon unique to the Galar region could be observed by Autumn. 

It's quite difficult for normal people to properly observe Pokemon from such height but Autumn could observe them with no problem because he used Aura to enhance his eyesight. He also made sure that nobody could see it. 

Overall the journey was quite fun and soon we could see the island. It was quite huge and it looks like there were also many Pokemons and people who lived on this island. 

Driver: "We are almost about to arrive there champion and Prodigy." 

Leon: "Good you ready?" 

Autumn: "Yes." 

The Taxi soon arrived in front of a little building that looked like a dojo no it was a dojo. Autumn and Leon then exited the Taxi and Leon told Autumn to follow him inside the Dojo. As they were making their way toward the dojo entrance they saw two people who seem to be having a small dispute or something. One was a middle age woman and the other was a blonde hair guy. 

Autumn first looked at the blonde hair guy and noticed a peculiar Aura that surrounded the guy. 

Autumn: 'Psychic energy!' 

What Autumn felt was a surge of Psychic energy around this person and some Pokeballs were floating beside him which confirm Autumn's doubt. He carefully observed the guy, He was a young man with blue eyes and long straight blonde hair. He was wearing round glasses. The floating Poké Balls could be seen levitating around his hat probably due to the psychic energy. After observing the man for a while Autumn said one thing in his mind. 

Autumn: 'Weak' 

The psychic energy around the blonde man was weak, it was not that strong that it could affect Autumn. He could just shrug it off by defending himself with Aura but he was still wary of that guy because psychics are dangerous, Why? Because Autumn has first-hand experience when it comes to Psychic energy because he also used it but the thing is Aura and Psychic though they share some similarities. They are quite different from one another. 

Aura usually starts with borrowing the power of nature then after being strong the Aura users can start bending the natural laws but Psychic users can easily bend the laws from the early stage and once they become strong they will be able to do terrifying things but the thing is that psychic users generally have a weak body because they usually train their mind instead of the body while Aura users train their body which makes them almost equal but Aura users would still be unable to fight against a psychic user if that Psychic user is really strong but there was a problem with psychic users. 

Autumn: 'I also used to have Psychic abilities but it seems like I don't possess them in this life. You must be born with psychic powers if you wish to be a psychic user.' 

Psychic users were an exception in the World {mentioned in the prologue} because only a handful of people can use them because they had psychic energies in their bodies since birth. Furthermore, it's hard to increase the psychic powers because there is a limit to how much an individual can advance his/ her psychic powers and they must also have high control over their psychic powers. After again taking a look at the blonde and confirming he won't be a threat Autumn looked at the woman he was in a stalemate with. 

(A/N: Control is important because if you don't you will become a...) 

The woman had fair skin and a slender figure. She had sky‐blue eyes and auburn neck‐length hair with two central bangs, one frontal, terminating at her eyebrows' bottom, and one back, with the same length as the front bang and lightly curved back, and four lateral bangs, two frontal and two back, slightly surpassing the extent of her head's side and drastically curved back and lightly upward. At the top of her head, she had a small upward lock of hair to divide in two and bend downward, forming a spout shape. Though it may not look like it she had a strong presence which was hidden to the untrained eyes. Autumn could say that she was a strong trainer. 

Leon: "I wonder what is Honey talking with that trainer about?" 

Autumn: "By Honey are you referring to the Woman over there." 

Leon: "Yes she is my master's wife." 

Autumn nodded to what Leon just said, it seemed like his suspicion was right she must be indeed strong if she is the wife of Leon's mentor. 

Leon: "What do you think??" 

Autumn: "Maybe that guy was requesting something but it seems that something went wrong." 

Leon: "That could be the case, let's go see." 

Autumn nodded and after that, they went to check what exactly is wrong. The two people in front of the Dojo also noticed their presence. Honey and the blonde immediately recognised Leon, which was natural because he was the champion. 

Honey: "Oh dear, Leon is that you?" 

Avery: "It's the champion." 

They also soon notice Autumn beside Leon. Honey was the first one to ask... 

Honey: "Oh, who is this little sugar?" 

Leon: "Oh he is..." 

Avery: "Hey aren't you the young prodigy who made a record of being the youngest professor?" 

Autumn: *nods 

Honey: "Now that you mention it, This little sugar does look like him but Leon why are you with him?" 

Leon: "Well from today I am on my vacation so I was thinking of visiting the Dojo and bringing Autumn here as a possible new blood." 

This caused everyone there to be surprised even Autumn, he tagged along because he just wanted to visit some new place but didn't expect that Leon would bring him here so that he could visit a new place before going back. 

Autumn: "Wait, I didn't..." 

Avery: "Absolutely not" 

Before Autumn could speak the Blonde spoke, Autumn and Leon looked at him with Honey smiling wryly. 

Leon: "What's the matter?" 

Avery: "First allow me to introduce myself, I am Avery and today I came here looking for a position in the Pokemon Dojo as well." 

Leon: "I see then why did you say to stop." 

Honey: "Well you see Leon Dear. He wanted to join the Dojo as well but the problem is there is only one slot and even though I have the authority to give that slot to him I am waiting for Mustard to come and give his confirmation. 

Leon also became silent because he didn't have the authority to make Autumn a member of the Dojo until his mentor's permission. 

Autumn: " Guys, I don't-" 

"Leon my boy, you have arrived it seems." 

Before Autumn could reject the offer to join the Dojo another voice interrupted him. Autumn looked at the person to whom this voice belong and saw a man maybe in his 50s walking towards them. He wore a green shirt with a blue paw print and yellow undershirt as well as white pants. Like Leon, he also wore sneakers and also wore a bowler hat with green highlights. 

Leon: "Master" 

Honey: "Dear you are back."

Avery: "The Dojo Master" 

Mustard: "Yes and it seems we have guests can you fill me in on the details Honey." 

Honey: "Of course, You see..." 

After Honey explained what is the case Mustard thought about it for a while before saying. 

Mustard: "How about you two battle, the one who wins can join the Dojo." 

To this everyone nodded it seemed like the most optimal choice except for Autumn. 

Autumn: "Wait a minute" 

Mustard: "Is something wrong little one?" 

Autumn: "I didn't agree to this battle." 

Avery: "Are saying you give up?" 

Autumn: "I don't wish to join that's all." 

Leon: "Why? I even thought that you would like to be a member of the Dojo I am in." 

Autumn: "I don't feel like I must join." 

Honey: "Oh why is that?" 

Autumn: "I am quite confident in my skills so I don't think I need to join." 

Mustard: "Then at least battle so we could see how skilled you are." 

Autumn: *sigh "Very well then." 

With that Autumn and Avery were now on the battleground. Autumn sent out Torchic and Avery sent a Kadabra which was only level 17 while his Torchic level upped since the last battle to level 23 but it still didn't evolve to which Autumn was now concerned about. Will his Torchic evolve he just hopes that it will evolve. 

Avery: "Use Psybeam." 

Autumn: "Use Agility to dodge." 

Torchic dodged the beam. 

Autumn: "Flame charge. 

Avery: " Psybeam again." 

Torchic then used a flame charge and rushed towards Kadabra to which it responded with another Psybeam. 

Autumn: "Don't fret keep going." 

Torchic had to bear the attack directly but Torchic still managed to be able to persevere and hit a flame charge this greatly closed their distance. 

Autumn: "Now Night slash." 

"Torchic" 

Avery: "Kadabra dodge." 

At close distance, Kadabra couldn't dodge and got hit by a super effective move and the winner was decided. 

Mustard: "The match is over Autumn won which means he will be the one to join the Dojo." 

Autumn: "Alright good job Torchic '!' Wait what?" 

Mustard: "You will be a member of the Dojo from now on little one." 

Autumn: "Huh" 

Mustard: "I think that it's appropriate for a young man like you with such terrifying instinct to join the Dojo." 

After Mustard said that others became a little confused but Autumn widened his eyes. 

Autumn: 'This man-' 

Mustard: 'That blonde wanted this kid to command his Torchic to either dodge or defend itself from the incoming attack so that he could maintain distance and do damage until he won. That was quite a nasty tactic but this kid managed to see through it truly if such a talent is not polished then it would be a waste.' 

Autumn was also thinking about how Mustard realized the same thing he saw through when he was battling Avery and how he can escape from joining the Dojo but then again he started to think about the pros and cons of joining the Dojo and came to a conclusion. 

Autumn: 'Joining the Dojo might not be a bad choice maybe I can use my identity as a student of this Dojo to hide my battle powers furthermore if Leon is also a member here then it won't be so bad but wait wouldn't that make Leon my Senpai if that happens *sigh. Let's first join but I have to confirm something first.' 

Autumn: "What do you mean by instinct?" 

Mustard: "Well your ability to analyse the ongoing battle almost feels like you are in a league of your own for your generation at least." 

Mustard: 'But why are my senses telling me there is more to this kid them what it may seem on the outside?' 

Autumn: 'Great he doesn't fully know about my capabilities yet. Well I had only shown the surface level so it was quite obvious that he won't be able to figure them out but I'm sure he has his suspicions.'

Autumn: "Do I really have to join?" 

Mustard: "Yes" 

Autumn: "Fine but I don't see anything that I will learn here also I am still confident in my skills." 

Autumn said that to which many people would think that he is being arrogant and rude but Autumn wanted to do this to see if there is something special about this Dojo. Leon frowned a little, Honey was a little spectacle and as for Mustard, there was a glint in his eyes. 

Mustard: 'Oho, I know what you are after kiddo. Don't think that would be enough but since you want to play it that way let's see what are you made of.' 

Mustard calmly smiled which Autumn noticed along with the glint that was in his eyes before. 

Autumn: 'Seems like a failure, This old man should have figured out what I am after well a pity but whatever.' 

Autumn was sure that his plan failed but the next thing that Mustard said shocked him. 

Mustard: "Hmm I see that you are still confident in your current skills. Very well then how about a test?" 

Autumn: 'What? Didn't my plan fail? No, it surely failed but it seems like this old man has something else in mind okay then let's see what it is.' 

Autumn: "A test?" 

Mustard: "Yes a test, it's quite a hard test that the members of the Dojo can take on and if they succeed they can get a prize. Don't worry it won't be that bad if you fail and if you succeed then you will still get the prize." 

Autumn: "What is this prize you speak of?" 

Mustard: "Priorities damn straight I see. Well, the prize is The Secret Armour of the Pokemon Dojo."
