Putting Down Roots

Ren Sasahara's found herself enjoying a peaceful, laid-back life in rural Kyushu, whiling away the peak of her youth with her best friend Nina, and a lovingly-tended garden, with only the occasional teasing from her older sister, a teacher prone to bear it all the second she gets in the door, getting under her skin.

At least, those were most of Ren's problems, until the day Kagura Zaizenji, an heiress with blood far too rich for her sleepy, seaside town, shows up as a transfer student in her class.

Despite the waves she causes amongst Nina and her class, Ren remains fairly detached from the new arrival, but a chance encounter at a vending machine after school piques her interest in more ways than one as Ren realizes the story of this fish-out-of-water leaving the lap of luxury may have more behind it than meets the eye.

Whatever the case, Ren decides to help the clueless new arrival adjust in a town that's certainly too small for the big personality she's brought with her. Ren, however, quickly discovers that she doesn't have all the answers, and maybe has some growing of her own to do far, far beyond the confines of her garden.
