A tear rolled from the bald eagle turned Amrit's eyes, "I am sorry, Neel. I am sorry that I could not keep my promise. I could not protect you from the evils of this world……I am sorry……" he wept and thought in his mind.

He was still flying without any rest. His destination was not very far and he could see the tall skyscrapers of the city now. Yet, his mind was still wandering in the beautiful passages of his and Neel's memories.

He thought, "I should not have brought you back……."

********

"Why are you saying that our destiny is awaiting us there? I have already talked with Neel," Amrit slowly whispered.

"I know that he needs to return to the city. It's been almost six months since we have accepted each other and truly that period was blissful," Amrit whispered in a low voice, "but what you are saying is also true. He is a famous actor and his fans must be looking for him. In fact when I went to the town last time I heard some bad and idiotic rumors about Neel's disappearance. Some of his fans have even joined some cult who want to launch a search mission to look for the 'relaxing vacation destination' of Neel." He made finger quotes.

"But he is very comfortable here. He likes it here and it doesn't seem he wants to go back. Moreover, you know what my intuition is saying-"

There was a loud sound of tree leaves and branches moving.

Amrit wanted to say something as he opened his mouth but another voice cut him, "Amrit, what are you doing here so late at night? And who are you talking with?" The voice sounded sleepy.

Amrit turned around to find Neel standing there in his night wear. It seemed like he had just left the bed.

Amrit quickly stood up and walked towards Neel, "no- nothing. I was just talking to myself! I think I heard some wounded animal's call just now so I came to check but it was just some animal crying for no reason," he lied.

Neel looked at him doubtfully but at the end he shrugged his shoulders and wrapped his arms around Amrit, "okay then, come back to bed. I am sleepy," he kissed Amrit's cheek.

Amrit smiled, "okay, let's go back."

He felt relieved knowing that his secret was still safe.

"Lord is right, sir. Your reappearance is much needed back in the capital city. Not only the entertainment industry but others are also getting curious about your secret vacation. They are speculating wildly about it. Some even said that you were hypnotized when you were injured and then your hypnosis was invoked again a month later that's why you disappeared again," Yuvti spoke.

She was the pundit of this temple. A girl who was raised by Amrit himself. Raising an orphan and training them as the caretaker and the temple pundit was one of his duties which he did many times in his long lifetime.

Neel and Yuvti also got acquainted very well in this beautiful period of Amrit and Neel's newly-formed soul bond.

Even after hearing this Neel was still not convinced, "let them speculate whatever they want but I can't risk Amrit's true identity to be revealed."

"You don't know about the media. They follow me like a shadow. And if they ever get a whiff about Amrit's unique identity, they will arrest him and tear him from inside out in a laboratory to ascertain the secret about his powers!"

"Moreover, those Ghouls of Sin! Anything or anyone remotely related to something paranormal is their mortal enemy! The outer world is not safe for you, my love!!"

Amrit looked at his worried face. He stepped forward and held Neel's face in his hands. He showed a calm smile, "my dear soul mate, my age is five hundred and twenty years old. In this long life I have seen kingdoms rising and collapsing, governments changing like seasons, cities forming, developing, flourishing and being abandoned."

"This world was never safe, neither it is a safe place nor it would ever be a safe haven for me. Yet, look at me, even after five centuries I am standing here in front of you; safe and sound. So you don't have to worry about my safety. I can understand your feelings but I am quite capable of protecting myself."

"What's more, I have finally found my destined mate and now even death has to return empty handed if it comes because I want to spend a long and blissful life with you!" Amrit smiled widely as he comforted Neel.

This calmed Neel a bit but he was still anxious, "but- but I don't know. My intuition is saying that bringing you to that place will result disasterly for you!"

Amrit took a deep breath, "alright, let's do this, I promise you that until your paranoia for my safety wears off I will try to stay out of the public eye, alright?"

Neel did not speak for a long time but finally slowly nodded his head.

Thus, this matter was settled. And in two weeks Amrit did all the arrangements they had to do before leaving.

Neel also contacted some of his confidantes to take him back. And one midnight both of the men left the forest and sat in the private chopper of the Rathore family to start a new chapter of their lives.

********

Neel's ancestral home was a palace which was the legacy of his ancestors or rather the ancestors of his father, the true blood of the royal family. The palace was named The Vilas Palace, meaning the abode of pleasure and it truly suited its name. One could only dream about living such a life which was enjoyed by its residents.

Yet, popularity always brings curiosity. This lavish palace was the centre of everyone's attention. Media houses always printed various astounding facts about the palace. But the most famous fact was that this grand house was one of the safest houses in the world. The security was very tight and people could only take pictures from outside and no drones or planes were allowed to fly above the palace.

That's why many people claim that the Rathor Royal Family palace holds a secret that no one knows.

In fact, these speculations were true. Inside a secret corner of the palace there is a hidden garden called 'The Heaven's Touch.' And in the centre of the garden stands a tree. But this tree is not like normal trees. Its bark and branches are made of silver, while its leaves are gold and it bears the fruits similar to red gems.

In theory the tree should be called the tree of money; the dream of many people. But in reality it doesn't serve monetary purposes only. The tree is in fact the purest source of power which directly descends from heaven. If any kind of ritual is performed under the tree, the results would be a hundred fold greater than expected.

All of it was explained to Neel by his father when he was alive and through a proper ceremony he was assigned as the guard keeper of this tree with the instructions that this secret could only be revealed to his future spouse if they deserve to know.

And currently, Neel laid under the tree with his chin supported by his hand. His gaze was glued to a certain someone who was meditating under the tree. The gaze was full of love and adoration with a hint of curiosity.

Amrit slowly opened his eyes. He met Neel's gaze and observed him. Then he smiled, "why are you looking at me like this?"

Neel shrugged, "just wondering."

"Wondering what?"

"Well, I am wondering that I have seen you thousands of times but why do I still feel eager for your presence. Whenever I go out I just want to return to you. Wicked eyed serpent you have put some spell on me that I can't live without you now!"

Hearing this, Amrit giggled. He ruffled Neel's hair and replied, "and what about me?"

"My every breath has your name on it. And this heart only yearns for you, human. And it's not my spell but the effects of love."

Both of them got lost in each other's eyes. Neel slowly started moving closer to Amrit and now he could feel the other's hot breath on his face. Their lips were only a few centimetres apart.

"Okay, okay enough flirting for the day. We have guests to entertain today," Amrit laughed and pushed Neel lightly.

The disappointment was clear on Neel's face. He moaned, "what guest entertainment? She is not invited by us but rather coming uninvited!"

"Neel, she is your aunt! Talk nicely," Amrit answered.

Neel rolled his eyes, "well, she is the daughter of my grandfather's third cousin. So both of us share a rather distant relationship."l

"What do you mean? As far as I have heard, she took care of you when you lost your parents and even after her own busy career she is active about your career as well."

Neel smiled bitterly, "all of these are stories created by her PR team to glorify her image."

"At that time, among all of my relatives, for some reason she was the only one who fit all the criteria of my parent's will about my custody and who was ready to accept the conditions mentioned."

"But I don't think she was actually willing because two days after that she went for a political summit in another country. And at first, she would come to check on me once every six months or so, which turned into once in a year when I entered my mid-teens. So, you can say that even after having a guardian I grew up as an orphan. However, I never complained about it to anyone. Because I didn't want to be seen as weak and unworthy of this Royal Family and secondly my parents deliberately made all those clauses in such a way that the person who matches those won't ever know royal family secrets which is my duty to protect. And only she was chosen by my legal team."

"But after my career flourished, she started showing her true colours. Taking advantage of my fame, she gained more popularity in public."

"And you know why is she coming today? Not because she missed me, in fact she didn't even once texted me when I returned after the plane crash. She is coming because of the rumours about my secret lover. Obviously, she wants me to suppress them and make a public statement that it's all false. She wants me to be the pure idol of the public. Because it's beneficial for her own political image."

Hearing this, Amrit felt quite bad on Neel's behalf. He gently hugged his soulmate in his arms. He always thought that Neel being a prince must have enjoyed a great life but he now realized how hard his life was.

Losing parents at such a young age and then being assigned to a guardian who doesn't care about you at all and being pressurized with the secrecy of royal secrets. He managed all of this as a child. He had to do all of that alone.

Amrit hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek, "you won't be alone from now on. I will always be with you, I promise."

Neel also smiled, "thank you, I will hold onto that promise."

He enjoyed the lovely feeling in his heart and announced, "okay, let's meet her and pass this dreaded time as soon as possible."

*******

An hour later, a large envoy of cars entered the gates of the Vilas Palace. Through the various security checks, all of these cars were stopped and even the main car was stopped at the last security barrier.

A middle aged lady in a black suit got out of the car, her heels clinked loudly on the ground as she walked towards the security check. The security staff was vigilant and they thoroughly checked her but the expression on the face of the woman showed that she didn't like this at all. Finally, after she was given a clear pass, she took her bag and started moving forward towards the entrance hall.

This woman was Kamini Raya, the Union Minister of History and Archeology. She stood at this position for two terms of six years each and before this she also served as the Union Education Minister. The lady carried an elegant yet cold and arrogant air around her. Her face still looked years younger than her actual age.

And this minister was the aunt of Neel, his appointed guardian.

Neel greeted her at the entrance, "welcome back, aunty."

She smiled but it did not reach her eyes, "thanks dear. Long time no see! I brought a bouquet for you but your security, they won't let me get it inside, you know. I must say they are very diligent and even after all these years they still don't trust me," her tone turned cold.

"There is no need for flowers in the family, aunt," Neel commented.

She smiled and agreed, "of course, you are right. Why need flowers when you have already got the most beautiful flower of the world," she walked in front of Amrit.

"You really deserve the title of master hypnotist. The one who moved all of the movie emperor's attention on himself and disturbed the entertainment industry," rudeness was not subtle in her tone.

"Kamini Raya, nice to meet you," she extended her hand.

"Amrit Shaysha," he introduced himself and grabbed her hand..

"Sheysha…..hmmm….. never heard about this surname in any business, entertainment, political or even sports news. Neither there was any prominent family with the name of Sheysha in history. What do your parents do?" She asked with a smirk to show Amrit that his family had a lower status.

But Amrit was not the one to bow to someone's arrogance… .

He looked at his and Kamini's conjoined hand and squeezed it a little too tightly, "my parents were just common folks who may not have great knowledge like dear minister but at least they knew how to take care of a ward assigned to them," he squeezed more tightly and smiled widely.

The smirk on Kamini's face vanished. She hastily pulled her hand back, grinded her teeth and looked at Neel, "so you already had heart to heart talks! Great indeed."

"Okay let's move to the dining area lest the food gets cold," Amrit announced cheerfully.

The entire dinner was done silently and the tension was so thick that it could be cut with a knife.

At the end, Kamini fortunately decided to leave but before she left she spoke to Neel, "my dear boy, I know I may have done some negligence in your upbringing but believe me I only wish best for you. And you should also look into the best options for a life partner who matches your social status as well as fame which will be essentially good for this Rathore family."

After she left, Amrit moved into Neel's arms and sighed, "she doesn't like me."

Neel kissed his head, "and her opinion doesn't matter to me. My love, we are made for each other! You are a serpent and I am a Seraphic! We are written in the stars!"

"Over the countless years we have to spend with each other we will meet many fools like her but we should only concentrate on each other!"

"There is a blissful life waiting for us! A life full of love for each other, support for each other. We will share our everything together, our joy, our sadness, our wins and our losses. You keep my happiness and I keep your sorrows and vice-versa."

He kissed Amrit's eyelids and then delved into a sensual kiss. Amrit's eyes turned misty. After they finally broke the kiss, Neel smiled and told Amrit, "we will live a life like paradise on this very earth with each other."

And that's exactly what happened. Both of them enjoyed a blissful life of lovers in each other's embrace.

But their happiness was only one year long.

Because someone's dark eye was soon going to befall them……
