The barrier was gone, leaving nothing but an empty yet tidy hut. It was as if the person who lived there had disappeared overnight. It was mundane, leaving anyone to believe that the previous owner was an ordinary human.

The sun was just shining over the horizon, yet he was too late. The high-level mage had departed already. Rubbing his head, he turned back and headed to the nearest town. He didn't think that the mage would disappear. However, now he had his confirmation: This person was a high-level mage.

'She must've predicted that I would come back.'

Anyone found to be a mage and not help fight against the demons will be fined a hefty amount. Since she was discovered, she must've run or gone to the palace. If she was heading to the palace, then...

'I'll meet her again sooner or later.'

Although he didn't like her first impression due to her sneaky nature, if he was doomed to cooperate with her, then he had to set aside these negative impressions. He sighed and continued to walk.

--

The streets were bustling with vendors shouting to promote their goods, and the delicious aroma of street food filled the air. Yulia kept her gaze forward and didn't conspicuously look around. She ignored and declined every time a vendor tried to get her attention. Seeing that she was in a hurry to get somewhere, the vendors no longer bothered her and continued to do their business.

System 404: [He is within the next two cities. However, he is constantly on the move. I've detected that he's able to use teleportation to a certain distance. Host, he may have an inkling where the heroine is.]

'Oh? And where is she?'

System 404: [She's a saint in the Sun Temple. That place is next to the palace, so it'll only be a matter of time before she's taken into the palace to become the saintess.]

'Then we have to go to the palace, I suppose. Everyone is gathering at the palace, how great. Tell me, is the foreign male lead still retaining his form?'

System 404: [Yes, although he does have a different appearance now because when he destroyed his world, he lost a part of himself as well. I'm also sensing a different energy from him. It's a sinister-like feeling, but I can't exactly pinpoint the reason.]

'...That's problematic. It might be because he's trying to adapt to this world; he wants a role in this world to stay. Though we won't know what his role is until we see him. After all, this world already has a male lead. It won't accept a male lead from another world.'

System 404: [Until we get closer, this is all the information I can collect.]

'That's fine. You've already gathered so much information. We now have a single destination to go to. We'll stay in this town and then move on tomorrow. 404, lead me to the closest inn and convert 400 exp points into currency.'

System 404: [The closest inn is a few houses to your right. Converting 400 exp points into currency, confirmed?]

'Confirmed.'

System 404: [Conversion success.

Current balance: 200 silver coins, 200 gold coins.

Exp points left: 260,400.]

She felt a hefty pouch from her waist underneath her cloak, clinking with coins as she walked. Instantly, she used magic to silence the noise it was making. She doesn't want to make herself a walking target for thieves. Once inside the inn, she got herself a room and felt her stomach growling as she sat on the bed. It was now noon since she left the hut. If only teleportation didn't make her feel so nauseous, she wouldn't have to walk herself and be tired out of her mind.

She kept the useful items and erased everything in that hut regarding witch and magic-related stuff. The hut was now open for anyone to take since Hazel was already dead. She promised herself that she'll give Hazel a proper burial once she was finished using her body. In the meantime, this body will continue living on as long as Yulia's soul was in it.

System 404: [Food is provided at this inn, host. They are relatively cheap as long as you had booked a room already.]

'How long until we reach the capital?'

System 404: [With our current progress, it will be six days. However, if you ride a carriage or horse, it'll be three days. If you teleport, it'll take two days, depending on if you can go on any longer and if you still have mana left.]

'Teleportation will be our last method. We need to go rent a carriage or even a horse.'

System 404: [Okay, go eat. I'll try to locate any establishments open for renting or buying.]

Yulia headed down to order food. She paid with silver coins and seated herself as she wait for her food to arrive. The inn had few customers sitting and eating. Looking at the number of people now, she was sure that by evening, it will be bustling with people. She scanned the people in the inn, seeing a screen pop above their heads. They were regular people. It was only then that she lowered her guard a bit.

"Your food, miss!" A little girl put the plate in front of her. "Please enjoy!"

"Thank you, dear," Yulia smiled at her and then conjured a flower at the tips of her finger for the little girl. "For you."

Her eyes sparkled as she gladly accepted the flower, forgetting that Yulia had given her a flower out of thin air. She tucked it behind the little girl's ear and complimented her: "You look lovely."

The little girl ran off with a wide smile on her face. Even when she did run off, Yulia could still hear her giggles. She turned and began to eat.

System 404: [Why did you do that?]

'It's to earn a little favor with the owners of this place. That girl was their daughter.'

System 404: [...Of course, I should've known. Host will never do something without reason.]

'If I don't use everything to my advantage, then I'd be stupid. Besides, that little girl is cute, helping her parents run this inn. Anyway, have you gotten the results?'

System 404: [Yes, there are two places. One for carriage and one for horse. Which one are you going with?]

'Horse. A carriage is too conspicuous.'

System 404: [The place doesn't rent horses for long distances, so you'll have to buy one. Five gold coins per horse.]

'Alright. We'll go after I'm finished.'

--

Although the sun was no longer in sight, its light continue to light up the sky for a couple more hours. Yulia brought the horse to the stable behind the inn.

"You'll be Lily. Now, rest well. We got a long day ahead tomorrow," she hushed the horse and patted her head. Then she headed back to the inn. At the front desk, she spotted someone familiar with a black cloak, tall stature, and broad shoulders. A screen popped above his head.

'Ah, that's Noah. We both must be heading the same way.'

System 404: [Are you gonna go bother him?]

'No. His lack of reactions doesn't interest me.'

System 404: [Are you here to work or have fun?]

'Heh, why not both?'

System 404: [...]

She put up her hood and walked past him and up the stairs, minimizing her presence. Passing him like a stranger, he paid no heed to the stranger who walked up the stairs.
