Once again, she had risen before the sun was in view. If it wasn't for bumping into the male lead here, she would've leisurely slept until it was midday. She sighed and stretched herself, sitting up from the bed half awake. After readying herself, she glanced across the room, making sure she hadn't forgotten anything. Well, there wasn't much she was carrying on herself anyway.

"Lily," she woke up the horse with a light nudge. "Wake up."

Lily opened her eyes and stood up upon the command of her new master. Yulia patted her head and brought over some horse feed and refilled the water bowl. She urged the horse to eat while she went back inside the inn. At first, she only planned to pay for some bread and go, but the older woman, who was still in her sleepwear, smiled at her with a closed lidded bowl of food. The little girl was next to her mother with a flower in her hand.

"Here, take this, young lady," she told Yulia as she shoved it into her hands. The bowl was warm to the touch, heating up her cold hands. "It's a thank you for entertaining our little girl."

"For you!" The little girl held up the flower she picked.

System 404: [I'm impressed this works every time...(・-・).]

'As long as it works.'

Yulia smiled and accepted it, crouching down to the little girl. She let the little girl tuck the flower behind her ear, as she had done for her. Then she stood up and dug out two gold coins for the older woman.

"Oh, how can I accept?! That's too much, young lady. Since you are traveling, you should keep it," the older woman adamantly refused, waving her hands in front of her.

"Please accept it. It's thank you for making me such a hot meal when you should still be sleeping. Thank you for your hospitality," Yulia said and shoved it into her palms.

Seeing that it was already pushed into her hand, the older woman couldn't refuse it and finally accepted the money. She looked at Yulia and curiously asked, "Young lady if you don't mind me asking, where are you going? It's very dangerous lately. Haven't you heard about the new demon king that rose to power?"

However, Yulia assured her, "Don't worry. I'm heading to the capital to help combat the demons. What's up with the new demon king?"

Relief almost dawned on the older woman's face when she heard that Yulia was going to help fight against them, but she couldn't let herself be assured just yet. She pushed the little girl upstairs, telling her to go back to sleep. Only then did she tell Yulia: "He can change appearances. Believe it or not, I even saw him a few days ago in town! He had the appearance of a normal human, but when he left, I saw him on his knees in anguish, and he transformed into a demon! The abundance of demonic energy I felt that day, there's no doubt he's the demon king. Please, be careful."

"Thank you for the information. I will do my best to be careful. Also, it's best if you don't speak about it too much of it. He may come back to this town and eliminate any information. Please, take care," Yulia cautioned her, putting a finger to her lips.

The older woman nodded at her words. Yulia then walked out, closing the door behind her. It was only then that she finally showed a serious expression for once.

'404, give me all information about the demon king.'

System 404: [Unfortunately, there isn't much information about his appearance and abilities since he is new.]

'So we're completely clueless about this demon king? Huh. 404, save that piece of information that the woman just gave us. Collect any information regarding the demon king, and why he is moving on his own.'

System 404: [Understood.]

Although the demon king isn't her priority or duty, she had to take caution upon hearing that he could change appearances. If even an ordinary human can feel the demonic energy, then all the more to be careful. She came back to Lily who was waiting for her in the stable. The horse feed was eaten and even the water bowl was finished halfway.

"Good Lily," she complimented the horse who neighed in response. Then she set the hot bowl inside her bag before putting the saddle on Lily. After making all the necessary preparations, she led Lily out of the stable and walked away from the inn.

System 404: [Progress to the capital is going smoothly! Only one more day until you reach the capital!]

She drank her water jug and exhaled from all the exhaustion. Having everything she needed, she didn't stop in any towns or cities. Although she would sure like to sleep on a bed instead of camp outside, she didn't have any reason to keep stopping by inns and delay the journey. Besides, she wouldn't want to keep bumping into Noah who had a similar route as her. She imagined that if they traveled together, it would not be any fun since he wasn't much of a talker nor did he have any reactions. It would just be plain silence or just her talking. At least traveling alone abled her to talk to 404 aloud.

"We'll stop here tonight. I'm sure by tomorrow some time, we'll reach the capital," Yulia said and started to set up camp.

Lily was drinking water by the stream, so Yulia let her be. She started the fire and ate her jerky and dried fruits. When night fell, she cozied up next to Lily for warmth by the fire like always. It was already well into the night when 404 suddenly woke her up: [Host, I sense demons nearby.]

She tiredly opened her eyes. At first, she thought about putting up a shield and sleeping through it, but she hasn’t encounter any demons and don’t know how strong they are. There was too much risk to take. The fire had died out, leaving her to navigate in complete darkness. She lit up the area with magic and started to pack her things. Lily lightly neighed as she also woke up.

"Sorry, Lily. It's not safe around here."

Yulia tightened the saddle back onto Lily's back. Then just as she prepared to leave, 404 informed her: [I also sense Noah nearby.]

She stopped in her tracks and listened to the sounds. Although faint, she does hear some noises. She pulled the reins and had Lily on standby on the road. Then she went back, following 404's instructions. The noises were getting louder and louder. A voice gasped and grunted as his sword injured the demonic creature who let out a yelp. The demonic creature had red glowing eyes and body shaped like a large wolf with horn in the middle of its forehead. It lunged forward with its mouth open, revealing sharp teeth.

Noah fought back, but its claw managed to scratched his shoulder. Blood emerged from his shoulder, and the gigantic wolf lunged at him again, seeing an opening. Despite managing to defend himself, he was knocked to the ground. The sword in his hand fell to the ground a few inches away from him. Taking this chance, the wolf charged at him.
