Yulia swiped her hand and grasped Noah with magic, dragging him in the air to her side. She exhaled at the closeness that the male lead was about to die. The wolf stopped and looked at her.
'A witch helping a human?'
Yulia's brow twitched upon hearing the wolf's voice. What a unique surprise. This was the first time she's encountered any demonic creatures here, and she can understand what it was saying. Perhaps it's a trait from being a witch. Well, it certainly was an advantage. Maybe she can even negotiate with it.
Then she heard smaller voices. It was faint and further behind the large wolf. She increased the brightness of the light in front of her and glanced toward the noise. Wolf pups were peeking out one by one behind a barrier. Then she finally understood the situation. Stepping forward, she stood in front of the male lead.
"What are you doing?!" He coughed out and groaned in pain.
"Saving the damsel in distress," Yulia replied as she held a smile on her face. Then she turned to the wolf who had stopped attacking.
It growled: 'Why help this puny human? You are one of us, witch.'
'I'm sorry. Please forgive this stupid human. I'm sure he's done something wrong to have upset you. In return, I'll make it up to you. I'll get you a large boar.'
'Are you making fun of me?! He stepped into my territory. I must kill him.'
'My, my, how terrifying. I will make sure to lecture the human, so why don't you let him go this once? I'll double the meat, enough for your young pups to eat until they're filled.'
It stopped growling, and soon, its tail was behind its leg. Both ears laid flat as the wolf started to back up. The one in power here was not the human or itself, but the witch. It understood its position when she had pointed out the pups which it had laid a barrier to keep them contained. She could even tell that it was injured to the point where it may not be able to hunt.
'First thing in the morning. You must keep your promise, witch.'
She slyly chuckled, knowing that she had won and said, "I'm glad you understand. I like smart ones like you."

After letting one more threatening growl, it retreated back. Confused that the demonic wolf was retreating back after the stare down, Noah glanced at Yulia. A smile full of confidence was still shown on her face. Then she turned to him and flicked his forehead.
"Ah!" He let out an audible groan and touched his painful forehead.
"Look at you, Mr. Hero. Not only did you upset such large demonic wolf, but you also stepped into their territory without knowledge. Aren't you lucky that I was nearby?" She said and began to lift him up using magic. "You'll be coming with me. Don't complain now, we're going to the same place anyway."
Like herself, he didn't have much items either. Even he had bought a horse. It didn't take long until she brought him back to her spot. Then she started the fire and brought back Lily. Wetting the towels and bringing out the healing potions in her bag, she told him, "Strip."
"!!" His eyes widened, but he soon calmed himself down, understanding why she said that. Taking off his shirt, he groaned in pain as he showed her his open wound. The blood was already starting to clot, leaving behind dry blood trails down his chest.
She scrubbed away the blood on his body and and cleaned the wound. After the shoulder was clean of blood, she poured half of the potion over the wound and had him drank the rest. The wound closed up in a few seconds, leaving her to be impressed.
'I should start to make more of these healing potions. I didn't know they were so effective.'
As a witch, she can curse, but she can’t cure or heal. She stared at the wound without a scar. Then she gathered the bloodied towels and start to wash them by the stream. At this point, she could feel the burning gaze of Noah who had many questions. However, she wasn't interested in answering them right now. She just wanted to get ample rest before the sun rise up.
"I'll put a barrier over us, so get some rest. I'll answer your questions tomorrow," she said to him and finally felt the gaze disappear from her back.
“Thank you.” A mumble gratitude came out of him. It neither sounded spiteful or forced.
“No problem. Feel free to sleep first.”
Alas, she couldn't avoid traveling with the male lead. At least, tomorrow was the last day to get to the capital.
